Silence (Poem)

Walking into the gloomy building of this personal funded hell, a young girl is trapped

She's not physically trapped, but emotionaly and mentaly trapped. She is locked in a cage.

This cage is not made with steel, iron or any of mother Earth's metals.

This cage is made with her thoughts.

Cold, abusive hands wrap around . She is struggling to speak out

She want to shout... she wants to shout

But no words would come out.

The hands are like the closet that she hides in.

Only one word can describe how she feels.

It's fear...

She is afraid...

Afraid of what her parents would say, afriad of what socity would say...

Afraid of her fate...

Afraid... to be herself.

She is just so... afraid.

The hands of aniexty squeeze even tighter around her neck. They won't let go... they won't let go

She feels that all hope is lost...

Nothing is left for her...

All of a suddent, a beam of light shines through her selcuded bars.

Is it god? Is it her knight in shining armor?

No. It's way better than that.

It's courage...

With all her strenght, she rips the hands away from her porcelain, fragile neck.

She is loose...

She screams! Filling the top of her lungs

"I am here! I am here!" she says.

The cage starts to melt infront of her very eyes finally floating out of the dark abyss called fear.

She has courage to be herself once more.

She kicks the closet door down and shouts

"Listen world! I'm here, and I'm queer!"

I have arrived...

I wrote this in 27 minutes holy .

This poem is dedicated to all of my fellow LGBTQ+ people who are afraid of themselves. Don't be scared... it will indeed get better.

Love,
