I ran into a slight bit of writers block yesterday when I was trying to work on Reconciliation. I have another chapter written up and I'm just waiting to hear back from a friend who is checking it for me before I post it up. But ideally, I like being a bit ahead of my updates. I wanted to make Reconciliation have longer chapters as I am notoriously bad for my chapters only having about 1000 words. It means that my uploads are slower though. I'm still working to find a balance but I hope to be able to upload at least once a week. My feed will probably have little messages that have exact dates for updating, but I'm going to try my best to be consistent.

But back to writers block. I normally hit it after a couple of days of really good writing. Reconciliation now has about 7000~8000 words but it's hit a bit of a grind point and I'm reluctant to force myself to write through it. As always, I've taken a bit of a break from the story to work on something else and it's looking to be a one shot.

I don't really have a fixed plot for this one either XD

It's ChanXing (Chanyeol x Yixing) from EXO and I haven't seen much of this pairing around so I doubt it will be super popular. I stumbled onto an AU idea that really reminded me of a couple of moments between the two. I remembered the Showtime episode where they both played guitar together and I've seen a couple of live fancams with them both playing guitar on stage and it really screamed this AU to me.

I'll probably have the oneshot finished today or tomorrow, so expect to see it around this weekend after I check it over and make sure it makes sense. It's been weird writing a oneshot again. I wrote Kitty quite a while back and since then I've been working on just chaptered fics. (I have a 14000 word EXO fic that is very unfinished sitting on my laptop that I ran into really bad writers block with). And the oneshot is probably gonna be PG-13 which is something I've never really written before. The topics I've picked in the past have always been M rated so to challenge myself I wanted to keep ChanXing PG-13.

This isn't to say I won't be making a sequel... I'll probably revert back to my M rated ways in it XD

I'm not 100% sure how long a oneshot needs to be... I've read some that last about 1000 words and others that last 10000 words so I'm just letting the characters drive at the moment. It's a different experience to writing Reconciliation that's for sure. I have most of Reconciliation's plot outlined, I've got detailed character profiles complete with pictures and I'm a little more sure of what I want that fic to be.

That being said, I feel like I write EXO a little better than BTS. I'm never sure if I characterise the BTS members right. But I'll keep trying my best for the people that are interested in Reconciliation and those that like my writing :)
