BACKGROUND:

Born and raised in New York, Mai is an American born from two Korean. Her parents are richer than middle classe as her dad is a director in a big company. Her mom is a choregrapher for a the USA Dance Team. SInce she was born her mom wanted her to become a dancer which she became. At 18 months Mai took her first dance classes, which is wher she falled in love with dance. She became rappidly a prodegy. At 5 years old she was admitted in Juillard School, which one of the best Dance Academy in United States.

She found about K-Pop in August 2009 when she was in vacation in Korea to see the rest of her family, when she was scooted by a JYP scooter. She accept as she was intrigued and her parents pushed her to do it. She auditioned with dancing, the juges were impressionates and she was accepted in JYP as a trainee. She officially joined in January 2010.

TRAINEE LIFE:

She was know in JYP as the best female dancer. She was quicly put on a group project (Empire) with ADD-ON. Finding the members was hard. But finally they choose the best one but they couldn`t get along at the start. As time pass, they became closer than ever. In 2014, they were scheduled to debut but it didn't happen. They were all disapointed but what make them angry was when their leader decided to quit. When she heard about she tought she had another chance to debut but she was not even chosen. She decided to train even harder which got her in Hit The Stage........
