I'm SO close to seeing BTS Live T_T

I might be able to see BTS Live!!

I might be able to go to their Wings concert in Chicago >.<

But I have one problem: No one is listening or supporting me. I'm at the point where I want to say it, I'm not going.

The ticket is $100.

A hotel would be about $40 (I'm splitting the cost with my friend)

A bus ride will be $50. A train will be $88. We will decide on one of them.

Chicago is about 5 ish hours away from Detroit.

The total cost for this trip will cost $300. Maybe more if we decided to buy souvenirs. I feel like that's a small amount to pay to see a Kpop group.

But it seems like everyone is jumping down my throat when I tell them. My mom is fine with it. She says that as long as I am traveling safely and my school work is not affected, I can go. The friend I am going with wants to drive there because she says it'll save us (a little bit) money and (literally 1 hour) time. I disagree with that. The concert is at the end of March. The weather is unpredictable. She has a 2003 PT cruiser and she's not the best driver.

Call me crazy, but I think it'll be best to take that extra hour and take the bus or train. We don't have to worry about the car breaking down, weather, or directions. She's saying that we'll be ok, you worry too much. But these are real situations we need to figure out. If we get stuck for any reason, who will come in get us? On a public transportation we don't have to worry. We can just have fun. I'm fine with paying extra money for Ubers.

We were talking it over with my friends (biggest mistake ever!) and they were basically criticizing our decision and tell us that it's stupid to go. My roommate thinks she's a smartass and that she knows what's best. She said well if you drive, you can get there in 4 hours. Do you not understand the concept of traffic? The google map directions are not always accurate on time.

I got frustrated and left the room.

I feel like I am the only one thinking logically. You always have to leave room more error because things don't always go as planned. I feel like my friends (since they are so smart) should be able to figure that out.

My safety is more important than saving literally $50. A bus/train is much safer than driving. I'm not about to risk my life trying to save a little bit of money. And the girl's mom doesn't even want her to go and not offering us any help.

I feel like we should only discuss this between the 2 of us and no one else (and my mom) because no one else understands and everyone thinks they are smarter than us.

Ugh!! I'm so frustrated!!

I don't even want to go anymore...

I'm sorry that this is turning out bad for you :( last May my sister and I went to Chicago to SHINee's fan meet. We live near KY and it was 4-4 1/2 hours driving. She and I have been on longer road trips than that(we drove to New Jersey and that was 12 hours one way) so driving was okay. However, when we reached Chicago the traffic literally went 10-15 miles an hour. Thankfully Chicago was an hour behind us because otherwise we would've been late! We're going again in a couple weeks to see B1A4....hopefully there aren't any snowstorms. Anyway....cars DO present problems. I hope you and your friend can work everything out okay. You're right. Being able to see a kpop group over here and so close is amazing! Good luck!
