BACKGROUND.
jooyeon was born in a quite wealthy family. her father was the owner of a five-star hotel while her mother is a lecturer of psychology. a very good background, indeed. she lives inside a spacious home with a very high-end community that emphasizes the importance of brunches and tea times.
growing up, jooyeon had always been fond towards those kind of life. it seems fun to go shopping together with a group of friends and gossip about their husbands. those are the kind of life she had always wanted. therefore, she befriended those kind of girly girls and clicked immediately with them. there was the start of jooyeon's deep compassion towards fashion and makeup. she started falling in love with those vanity items and in the blink of an eye, she decided that she would devote her life towards those beauty items.
when jooyeon graduated high school, she secretly applied for a degree in fashion without the knowledge of her parents. meanwhile, her parents had already enrolled jooyeon into a law school. she attended the law school for a week before deciding that fashion is what she lives for (despite the law lecturer actually calling her 'star student'). she quit law and went back to fashion. of course, her parents were infuriated by her decisions. it was a waste— law schools are expensive! the pair kicked jooyeon out. she was given the ultimatum of experiencing all the luxuries in life but go to law school or chase her dreams but live in poverty. she chose the latter.
since then, jooyeon haven'r really talked to his parents. her savings were all used on her education. she's now still a student; but she's also working as a fashion columnist on a local fashion magazine. she still had never actually made any communication with her parents since the day they threw out of her house.

"just because i guess." she shrugged her shoulders while jutting her lips. "plus, my sister asked me to. she says it's going to be fun. well, not really. she kind of forces me to. she says it's better to go out and spend my summer productively than sitting around doing nothing." it was apparent that the idea of going out of gangnam was not something jooyeon had in mind; but her sister pretty much said that if she didn't, she'll stop funding her lifestyle. little did she know, her sister wanted her to try to live a not so luxurious life and her sister kind of wanted to go on a no-jooyeon vacation lol.

"i have been in gangnam since i started going to university and never really go out of gangnam since then. it would be great to go to beaches and you know.. beautiful places in general!" she let out a slight giggle. due to financial crisis and pretty much jooyeon refusing to go out of gangnam (why go? gangnam has everything a girl like jooyeon wants!), she never really went out of seoul. which she is cool with. just saying.
