PERSONALITY:

POSITVE- Raiden believes he was always meant to be the Happy Virus of whatever group he eventually joins. He's self confident in himself, he knows that there is no part of him that anyone would consider him bad, and generelly never takes comments about him seriously. He is also hilarious, in bad and tiring times, he will pop a random joke or antic to cheer up the crowd. Also he always finds the brightness in a dark situation, never giving up that easily (unless it's for variety). Raiden was never always ambitious ever since he became a part of JYP, but once he became a trainee, he has never felt so much ambitsious to be the best ever. Never before has he wanted to be an idol, or a dancer, or an actor, or an MC, all at the same time. Ever since then he has become ambtious.

NEUTRAL- There are 7 words to describe Raiden in the smallest of a nutshell. He, will, never, shut, the, , up. He could probably talk on and on forever and forever and he would never even stop talking in his sleep! To add to his chatter-boxness, he is a very loud member. Ready to literally scream his thoughts until the world hears him. He cannot whisper as him just whispereing sounds likes regular talking. And get ready to sit down for a story, because he has the energry to tell you all parts of the topic. He is like a beagle with a life time storage of coffee, always so energetic.

NEGATIVE- Sure self-confidence is good, but when it becomes obsesive, it can become ignoring. Raiden likes to believe he is generelly the best, he would rank himself first in looks, dance and whatever. Raiden also has a little hobby of disconnected, often. He is forgetful and is prone to daze of, even in serious situations. He always needs attention, like every second of everyday. He loves skinship, and will generelly be the one clinging onto everyone and anything. Raiden will always charge into things and say he will do them, without any idea, but he always fails.

BACKGROUND: 

LIFE IN GWANGJU- Oh Shimtaek was born on the 17th of November in 1998. Born into a middle class family of 6, himself, mother, father twin older brothers and his grandma. During his youth his grandma mostly took care of him because his mother and father worked. But despite the absasence of his parents, he admired his grandma, even more so than his mother. Well not that much, but just by a tiny bit. His grandma was so caring of him, and she has a lot to thank her for. When he was young he gained intest in dance through his gradmother. She always liked watching many young adults dance on a stage and have people scream their name. The curious little tyke, Shimtaek had asked to join a dance class. So when he turned 4 he was put into a youth dance class.

Without a doubt he was the best,He was confident in his dance moves, and on top of that he was suprisngly flexiable. He always got best performer award for any major concerts he had attended to. But when he turned six, his family moved to Seoul.

NEW BEGINNINGS IN SEOUL- Although Shimtaek was only at the young age of 6 when he moved to Seoul. It was scary, he hadn't even started school yet and he would have to go in with zero knowledge of Seoul. To make things worse he had to enter school mid-way during the year, leading him to already being behind everyone else, but nothing really stopped him being...him. He was nice and kind to everyone but a pain-in-the for teachers. But nothing changed, he still loved dacning, and his parents made sure to put him in a dancing school straight away after moving.

Here, he learned many dances, ballroom dancing, jazz, b-boying, hip-hop, ballet, everything. He felt at home here. His biggest feat was a solo dance perfromance, a mixed solo dance performance between ballet and hip-hop when he was 10. And it was his 1st national competition, in 2008. But he floored, acing every move, every beat, while still looking calm about it. It was always his greatest feat. He won his 1st Golden Medal, at his 1st National competition. So many were impressed but not as much as the scout.

After the concert he was approached by a JYP Scout and asked him would you like to become a trainee in JYP. Shimtaek at 1st declined but later come back saying that he will become a back-up dancer for YG. He never knew why he wouldn't go thorugh the trainee process, he just didn't want too. So he went to his audition at the young age of ten 10 and was accepted straight away. He trained for 2 years, perfecting his dancing since he was too young to become a back-up dancer.

THE YOUNGEST BACK-UP DANCER- Two years after Shimtaek joined JYP entertainment, he began his back-up dancer life. Upgrading from the 3rd basement dance studio, to the dance studio on the higher floors. It was excillertaing stepping into the new, freashly cleaned dance room, noticing all of the other back-up dancers too and most importantly of all, 2PM his first gig was in 2010 for a 2PM music show. Sure he was new and young and everyone took care of him well.

RAIDEN- Business continued for Shimtaek, going to different gigs with his company, sometimes being called on soley. On top of that he had to balance his final year of school and his work as a back-up dancer.  Now he was at the tender age of 18, ready to face life, and ready to continue his life as a back-up dancer. Until

"Mr. Shimtaek ssi?" A familiar voice called from behind. Shimtaek turned around to see the boss himself, the big boss who lead the whole ship. JYP himself. Shimtaek was confused but went along with the whole meeting. JYP asked Shimtaek to sing, this was nerve-wrecking. He didn't really like singing purely because he  was never good at it. Shimtaek sung a simple song, 2PMs A.D.T.O.Y. He achieved the approval from JYP and he was asked to join the regular trainee path. Shimtaek wanted to flat out decline, he wasn't ready to drop straight to the bottom once again. But his grandmother convinced him otherwise. One long phone-call later of his grandma convincing him that this oppurtunity is great for him.

So after that he went to JYP's office and said yes. But JYP gave him bit more of an offer. He showed the trainee and interesting logo, a blue square with the number 16 in it, and faintly in the back was another number, a 2. "What is this?" Shimtaek asked. JYP responded, explaining how he wanted to be apart of the next season of SIXTEEN 2. And well Shimtaek agreed and signed the contract for a trainee life. But Shimtaek had some more tricks up his sleve.

He decided to say good-bye to Shimtaek the Back-Up Dancer, sure it was hard but he got with it. And hello to the new found RAIDEN. He chose this name to compliment his dance style of being lightining quick! On top of that he bleached his hair and added blue streaks (which later faded) to purple.

TRIVIA:

╳ Raiden talks so much that he talks in his sleep, that he has to room alone in the dorm (unless another sleep talker)
╳ When Raiden gets scared he gets clingly and does a high-pitched scream X and gets very clingly with the closet thing next to him, even if it's a ghost
╳ Raiden can't eat spicy food, like at all
╳ When someone is upset, Raiden will always do his best to cheer them up.
╳ Raiden has a birthmark on his leg, many sya it's shaped like a dinosaur, while other say Giraffe
╳ Raiden couldn't tell his brothers a part until he was 6, how? He noticed the oldest brother has a birthmark on his ear.
╳ His favorite song is Into the New World by SNSD. He loves the melody and lyrics to the song. He also knows the choregraphy of by heart.
