Sadly, however, my baby can't be perfect. He is quite an awkward nugget. He's just awkward. He's also a little naive, probably just given his age and easygoing personality. He doesn't want to be in the way or speak out. He's also an innocent little fella so that goes hand in hand. Spineless, he's not one to seek adventure and is not good with confrontation. He's simple minded and doesn't think things through all the way, but at the same time can find the most simple things satisfying. He's pretty weak in terms of strenght and build, but I mean he is a kid so that's fine. He's also seen as weak in the eyes of the industry and is forever stuck on the bottom of the todem pole, so when he's put in the spotlight or put in a position of importance he might feel awkward or recieve hate from some older people in the industry. He's also a little weak in mind. He's not the most outgoing person and is pretty reserved and introverted, but he's not a loner- he just keeps to himself and wants to stay out of the way of others.  

The biggest negative of his personality is how petty he is. Since the day he had started school in Seoul, he had always been bullied. He didn't know why, he didn't do anything wrong. He was verbally abused daily by his peers, and even occasionally physically so. To others it seemed as if the hurtful comments just bounced right off of him, that he had become immune, but each and every jab at him left a scar. He does not give one mother fluffing crap about anyone who has ever verbally or physically attacked him and if he were in a Scar/Mufasa situation, he would easily drop them off the edge of the cliff into the wildebeest stampede and not have a second thought. Lucky for them the time has never arised. He would never go out of his way to take revenge on someone, because honestly it's not worth his time- but he has sometimes caught himself thinking about some dark stuff. They're terrifying thoughts, to the point where he even fears himself, but if it weren't for his father's undying passion for music, Daehwan would have joined his parents in heaven years ago. 

Daehwan really was a sweet child. He wanted to do everything in his ability to make his aunt's life easier. He performed his best in school despite his grades not being perfect, and the constant bullying in order not to make her worry, learned how to cook some basic meals on his own for when she returned home from a busy day at work and was too tired to cook, he helped basically do everything around the house. The only time he ever got in trouble was when he was 13. His aunt came home from a long day at work and he was no where in sight. She was worried sick and looked absolutely everywhere for him, called every contact she could think of, and soon enough- found him in a shopping center playing the guitar and singing. His guitar case was open and there was a small pile of money inside. When she finally got to him she instantly hugged him, glad that he was okay, and scolded him for making her worry. He just simply stated that he lost track of time. He had apperently been going there every day after school for the past year and a half in an order to get some extra money. He didn't mean to scare her, he just wanted to give her a helping hand since her job didn't pay her all that much. He was slowly collecting money in order to help pay the bills, buy groceries, and so on. She was brought to tears and their relationship began to be one of actual family.  

This is when SM discovered him. A recruiter had seen him playing there once before and decided to return day after day to watch him. Daehwan's voice was very developed for his age and although his guitar skills were not as strong you could tell that his heart and soul were deep in the music. He went back to SM telling them that he had found their newest trainee and went back to find him and bring him to the company. After some searching (Since his aunt wouldn't let him play on the streets anymore) he found him and told him he had a guarenteed spot to be an idol if he wanted it. While his aunt was hesitant to let him, she knew it was his father's dream to be a musician and another way to bring income. Not soon after he had been given a contract as a trainee under SM, he was put to work on vocal and dance training, but for whatever reason they kept putting him to the side. He was recieving no income due to a debut not being in the immediate future and it became a struggle for he and his aunt to provide for the both of them. He had been called into the office one afternoon and he was hoping that meant he was finally going to be put into a project group, but they had instead told him they were going to drop him.

He didn't know what he had done wrong- and he was too embarassed to even perform on the streets like he had used to. Shortly after Daehwan left SM, the SM Rookies started promotions, something that was never even a thought when Daehwan was training there. Somehow, a rep from Lemon Ent. had heard of him getting dropped from SM and gave them a call, asking him to audition for them. He was unsure about it, but his aunt convinced him that his father would have wanted him to get back up and try again. She took him to his private autition and they told him immediately that he could sign with them if he wanted to, and that he was guarenteed a group and not a wasted effort. For the first time in what seemed like ages he was delighted, and accepted instantly, hoping that his parents could see him, and that his dad was happy.

▷ Being asked to dance girl group dances (he's too much of an innocent baby to do any of those y dances, and even the cute dances embarass him. Needless to say he gets asked to do them. A lot. Just because he gets super embarassed. ^^)
▷ Studying and balancing school and practice
▷ Puberty/hormones/whatever you want to call it (but luckily his voice is pretty mature for his age)
▷ Science classes- it's the subject he most struggles in.

HOBBIES : 
▷ Playing the guitar and singing (holy crap. really? I had no idea)
▷ Going to school (lol... not a hobby but he does it daily)
▷ Playing video games 
▷ Eating. A lot. 
▷ Cooking 
▷ Cleaning (he shares a room with the messiest member, and he honestly doesn't mind it, his side is just super clean) 

HABITS :
▷ He sings girl group songs out of habit because they're catchy
▷ Not showing his emotions easily so he might do or say something that means a lot to someone but he says it really simply. (probs why aerri fell for him tbh since he says really sincere things but with a straight face and thinks nothing of it)
▷ Being really warm and inviting on camera but getting embarassed really easily (but tries not to show it)
▷ Tapping on just about anything when he's bored in a drumming fashion
▷ Organizing/cleaning his room. He normally only sticks to his stuff but sometimes if it's just that bad he'll go in and organize his roommate's stuff too. He's used to cleaning his aunt's place so it's second nature. (and still does when he visits- but now he mainly lives in the dorms bc practice and debut)

TRIVIA : 
▷ He's absolutely terrified of large bodies of water and has been since he was young. (he tries to play it off like it's no big deal, just so people don't worry about him, but sometimes he can't help it.)
▷ He can't swim. He never learned how to swim because he was too young when his parents were still alive, and his grandmother was too old to teach him. He always had an excuse in school athletics to get out of it as well. 
▷ The first time he rode on a plane he had to take sleeping medication because he was so freaked out about flying over water. (this fear of his is REAL.) 
▷ The group was going to have a photoshoot together on the beach because... SEAing. And of course nobody knew he was freaking terrified of the ocean so he just stood really far away and it wasn't until one of the members (I'm gonna say the angelfish bc I feel like she'd be nice to him after looking at some of the angelfish apps) came up and talked to him about it. She didn't really get much out of him other than that he's scared of the water and it's just another thing he keeps to himself because he'd be made fun of by the others, but nonetheless she took him by the hand and was able to get him to do the shoot. (no one knows why he's scared of water though)
okay we're off of the water thing...
▷ Also scared of blood and needles. He gets lightheaded even with the thought of blood. 
▷ He lives in constand fear that one day he's going to have an overwhelming explosion of emotions (the first time since his parents funeral). Have you ever heard about how a fairy's body is so small that it can only have one emotion at a time? That's basically him. Except he's not a fairy and his emotions are very very VERY minimal. 
▷ His most prized possesion is his father's guitar, which he recieved after they passed. It's the only guitar he's ever played and he refuses to play any other. 
▷ He doesn't fair well in crowds. 
▷ Fall is his favorite season.
▷ He has prescription glasses but wears contacts. He only wears them at home or at night. 
▷ He will eat or drink just about anything. And no one can solve the mystery of how he is so skinny with how much he eats. 
▷ He's a baby, as we all know, but he seems older than he actually is because of his height and mature voice. People always mistake him for being at least 4 years older (like in his late teens early 20s)
▷ Idk what the drinking situation is in Korea vs America, but if underage drinking is a thing, I feel like he wouldn't be one to drink. But if his fellow members ever did get him to drink for a celebration or just whatever socializing purposes he'd be gone in a few sips and his personality would flip and he'd go from independent, calm, stoic child to clingy, cutesy, borderline flirty child.
