► She has a tongue pearcing. She has a very nice tan because she spends most of her free time outdoors. She also has very long, luscious hair that goes past her waist. But she will cut it short in the story for reasons you will see.

► Whenever Sookyung returns home for the summer, she always repeirces her stomach, because the peircing will always get caught on her school robes. She likes to go with a more boho kind of look with loose flowy fabrics and always wearing boots. She dresses for comfort but always manages to look nice while doing it. She would never wear sweatpants or anything like that. She doesn't usually wear makeup, but sometimes she might use it only to cover up a pimple or a blemish on her face.
In the winter months she might wear some nice tights with an oversized sweater or something nice like that. As long as she is wearing some loose fabric, especially on her top half, then it's ok.
► I guess with fashion sense she truly is a Slytherin, going for a more dramatic look than just casual.

► Ever since her fathers death, Sookyung had put up mental barriers around herself to keep anyone from getting to close. These walls only became stronger when she arrived at Hogwarts, and she never trusted anyone, even Jessica. She doesn't liek to draw attention to herself, because she knows that most of the time that attention will be negative. She keeps to herself, which she doesn't mind, it's better than being with someone that will probably stab you in the back. But she doesn't only distance herself from others, but also herself. She ignores her own emotions, and keeps them bottled up in the back of her head, but one day they will burst.
► Sookyung usually analyses everything before she makes a decision. She weighs the pros and cons in her head, and most importantly, she only does things if it will benefit her in someway. Although sometimes she is unsure what she wants, she just looks out for herself, and herself alone. Very goal oriented, she also strives to achieve her goals, no matter what they are, and most of the time, nothing and no one can stop her from doing what she wants (or what she thinks that she wants). But she understands that all things take time, and she never rushes into a decision and always thinks about the consequences of everything.
► She is also very cunning and manipulative, and has the ability to come up with elaborate (or very simple) plans in her head to achieve her goals, and just to go by day to day. But her plans and decisions aren't always perfect, as she doesn't see people as 'people', per se. She sees them as players on a chess board, but because she has made herself so indifferent to everything, she doesn't take peoples emotions into consideration, and it might be her one downfall. She is usually so sure of everything until it comes to peoples emotions. Because she doesn't have emotions (according to herself) then she forgets that other people have emotions, and that they are completely unpredicatble to her. No matter how smart she might, the human mind is her downfall, and it catches her off guard many times.
► Sookyung isn't very good at going around unnoticed, no matter how much she tries to stick to the shadows. In both the muggle and the wizarding world, she has this different aura about her that draws people towards her. She has her own kind of youthful charm, but her cold piercing stare always gets people to back off and not come any closer. It's very disconcerting on such an innocent looking face that she has, to give such a hard glare to others.

► Sookyung had always been different than the other kids growing up. Her parents had always told her that she was special, but she didn't believe them, and always thought that something was wrong with her. Sookyung first realised she had magical abilities after her father died. It was probably the most traumatic experience she had been through in her life. He died from a heart attack in early 2007, when she was only 9 years old. It was when her mother sent her to their garden on the roof of their apartment building to gather some flowers for the coffin that she broke down crying into the garden. It was then, as she dug her fingers into the dirt, that the flowers started to grow around her, wrapping their stems around her arms and blooming so beautifully. But she didn't know what was going on, and started wriggling around and screaming until her mother came up and calmed her. She thought she was going crazy.

The next day after the funeral she was sitting in the graveyard with James, who was (and still is) her best friend. She told him about what she thought she hallucinated, but James  asked her to see if she could do it again. She nearly thought he was going crazy too, but she put her hands in the ground anyway. Nothing happened. So they just left it.

Sookyung visited the graveyard often, but she never went alone, and she never actually approached her fathers gravestone and always kept her distance from it, while she would watch her mother or James kneel down over where he was buried and pay their respects. She stayed distant from not only her father, but everyone around her, and didn't let anyone in past the walls that she put up around her. But then one day, a few years after the incident, James had kind of had enough. Sookyung couldn't close herself off from the world and ignore her emotions forever. So when they visited the graveyard, he forced Sookyung (in the nicest way possible) to break down her walls and sit on her fathers grave, even if just for one day. As Sookyung did so she cried a renewed grief for her father, and as she dug her hands into the damp grass, a daisy grew, and bloomed radiantly. It was then that she realised that she had magical abilities, as James was there to prove that she was not hallucinating the whole thing.

After this, whenever James and Sookyung were alone together, they'd always try and see if she can grow some more plants. Most of the attempts ended in failures, and the rest would result in maybe a twitch of the stem, which could easily be a blade of grass. But they soon realised that it was only when Sookyung broke down her walls and let her emotions out that something magical would happen. But this was a very rare occurance, and as she grew older, the moments when she broke down her barriers became nearly non existent.

In 2013, the letter from Hogwarts came. Her mother opened it first, because Sookyung was out with James at that time, and she was so excited. Hyejeong had always known that her daughter was special and this letter was proof of that. Her daughter was magical. When Sookyung arrived home, Hyejeong scooped her up in her arms and handed her the letter giddily. Sookyung just stood there and read over the letter, a little bit surprised, but not showing much of a reaction. She was actually quite weary of the situation, and didn't really think that this 'Hogwarts' even exsisted, but she went along with it to appease her mother. It would only make the bond between her and her mother stronger anyways. So Sookyung played along with the whole thing, but when they arrived at the leaky cauldron and it actually existed, she had to stop in her tracks and assess what was going on. What would happen if this Diagon Alley really existed. What would it be like to go to this Hogwarts school of wizaardy? Why not just forget the whole and go back home? But then she looked at her mothers excited face, and just thought why the hell not.

Then a month and a half later Sookyung found herself in Hogwarts, a giant castle filled with mysteries and magic, and she was actually quite excited on the inside, especially to be sorted into her house and have her own kind of family as she stayed at the school. When her name was called, she started walking to quickly in her eagerness, and had to slow her self down half way there. When she was seated and put on the sorting hat, it was the strangest sensation she had ever felt, like someone was picking through her brains. It didn't hurt, it was just uncomfortable. And then there was this raspy old mans voice in her head which was kind of creepy, and sent shivers down her spine. But she was looking forward to being sorted into house, and having that sense of belonging in the world that she didn't have as a child. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, any of them could be her new home. She was excited to here the applause and cheers of welcome from the house that she was placed in. The sound of acceptance. Maybe this would be the place where she didn't have to hide herself behind that invisible barrier anymore.

"SLYTHERIN!!!!" the sorting hat had shouted. Sookyung was ecstatic, the Slytherin table clapped and cheered for the new comer, but the claps died down too soon, and the faces of more than a few of the older Slytherins grew puzzled. Wasn't she a muggle??? Sookyung heard the word mudblood whispered around the table she sat at, and although she didn't know what they were talking about, a sense of dread filled her. Everyone around the table was whispering to each other, and then one by one all the faces started to turn to her, and obvious dislike (maybe even hate) etched onto their faces. Sookyung avoided there glares, but accidentally caught the eye of one, sitting across the table, with long hair and a beautiful face *cough*jeonghan*cough* and she felt a chill cover her entire body. She didn't know she could experience such a feeling of hostility after just making eye contact with someone. Her walls went back up instantly, and she std down at her plate, blinking back that tears that were threatening to spil

► Kim Hyejeong : Mother : Muggle.  Sookyung is very close with her mother, and they have a good relationship. She runs a herb and flower shop on the bottom floor of their apartment building.
► Jessica Thompson : Fourth Year Ravenclaw : Half-blood. The two girls became friends on the train to Hogwarts in their first year, and although they got sorted into different houses they became good friends.
► James Finch : Best friend : Sookyung and James are as thick as thieves, and they have been best friends ever since they were 4 years old (They went to all the same schools, even the same kindergarten). She probably talks with him more than she talks with her mother because she just shares every with James. James is the one person that she can let her walls down for and show her weaknesses. James is also the only muggle other than her mother that knows that Sookyung is a witch. (He might also very subtly have the biggest crush on her, but she is oblivious to it. She is clueless when it comes to peoples feelings and emotions.)

► She really loves nature, and spends most of her time outdoors, especially in Hogwarts. She loves plants and animals.
► In the dorm of the Slytherin dungeon, Sookyung has kind of made a little garden around her bed, growing out of the cracks and crevices in the damp walls. It was half way through her first year, just after she had come back to Hogwarts from Christmas break that she realised the dungeons could be perfect for growing all sorts of plants. Sadly, one of the other fourth year Slytherins had some kind of allergy to pollen, but that didn't stop Sookyung.
► She has a pet cat that she brought with her to Hogwarts, it's a very fluffy black cat with blue eyes. Because she was a 'witch' she wanted to play with the old muggle tale of the witches cat being pure black with blue eyes and got herself one. Its name is Harriet.
► Ever since she has been introduced to the wizarding world, Sookyung has been obssessed with the magical candies. Especially the bertie botts every flavour beans she loves, and she smuggles many of the candies back into the muggle world for her and James to eat together.
► At Hogwarts if Sookyung isn't outside she will be found in a little knook in the library, kind of hidden in the wall where she can just disappear for a while. She loves to read books, and the library is just as good as outside in her opinion. And although it's odd she just really likes the smell of books. She enjoys learning new things.
► She also likes the smell of muggle cleaning products so much, especially lemon flavoured cleaning product.
► The only people Sookyung trusts are James and her mother. Besides them, she trusts no one, and only looks out for number one.
► Sookyung became friends with the whomping willow in her third year. Once the herbology teacher saw tears sliding down Sookyungs face after being bullied (and this wasn't the first time she had come across a scene like this) and so she showed Sookyung how to be friends with the Whomping Willow, and that the whomping willow would destroy anyone that came within it's reach when she was there. It took some time, and Sookyung got many cuts and bruises, and even went to the school nurse with a broken arm and some broken ribs once (that was awful) but with time she made it, and now she will often go down and sit against the whomping willows trunk with a good book to read.
► She's really good at playing the piano.
► Sometimes in class Sookyung will just use a pen instead of a qill and ink. Although she loves the aesthetic of the ink and quill, she can't write with them at all. Pens are so much easier.

final words / Okay I just now realised that maybe I got a bit too carried away with the background sorry oh well. If you want me to change anything in this app just say, but I hope you like Sookyung and her character none the less. Also please feel free to change Jessica (her Ravenclaw friend) to another character that has already been applied, they can be a hufflepuff too it doesn't really matter, but I don't think a gryffindor would fit tbh. And yeah just again I really hope that you like her and have fun writing about her.
