Our love was like a rose

Beautiful and envied at first

But once time passed

It could only welt

 

The light that blinded us

The dark that mocked us

The gray that enveloped us

The white that surrounded us

 

Our past was forgotten

Buried in a grave too deep

Our love had rotten

With memories we couldn’t keep

 

Time was of essence

You were the missing hand that time lost

The sounds of resonance

The silent screams in the night glossed

 

Indifference, Pain, Fear

The feelings we knew too well

Love, Happiness, all too sheer

The emotions we never felt.

 

Our love was like a rose

Beautiful and envied at first
