OH MY GOD IDA THESE ARE SO COOL OK SO WHAT happens is people send you applications to have a character in the story. I followed someone who wrote applyfics but I don't know if I do anymore or if they are here still, I'll message you one of their stories if I still do because they were really good at it
Of course! An applyfic is a story that someone makes with the intention of having other peeps, aka the readers, apply to have a character that they make up for the story. So it's basically a story featuring whatever groups are involved plus the OCs created from people other than the author. So, for example, if I were to make a supernatural apply fic, peeps would have to create some type of creature OC themselves within a blog post, explaining important things that would be needed to know for the story, then they can apply with that character. Then depending on how the author(s) decided to judge applications or take them in, they will select however many applicants they want and then write out the story using those characters created by the reader. Also, sometimes it doesn't even need to be OCS, it's just whatever is being asked to apply for.
