BACKGROUND: born in luoyang, henan, china to a happy family, zhang meirong has had a happy childhood. she had good friends, good grades, went to a good school and everything was good. she was an obedient and kind-hearted little girl who was loved by many. her dream was to becoming to police like her father one day in the future but soon, it all changed.
it was her first years of secondary school when "gee" of daydream went viral and the kpop lovers in her school always sang it. her class got curious and they listened to the song to find out the reason why the hell were the older studets in love with the song and immediately, meirong fell in love with the cute concept and the addictive tune. later on that day, she listened to the song for the second time and searched about daydream, the ones who sang "gee" on the internet and guess what? she spent the whole night exploring daydream and kpop.
when she came to class the next day, almost all of her close friends, too, were in their "kpop beginners" period. as time passed by, they understood and knew more about kpop culture and groups and just like every typical korean teenage girl, she dreamed of becoming an idol or becoming a musician, she found the fun of her life in listening and dancing to kpop songs, watching reality shows and everything kpop.
one day, the news of mtm auditions in china arrived in her country. she could hear daydream saying "hello meirong!" to her tBH. she and some friends begged their parents to let them go to beijing and luckily, they were allowed to! aside from a few poor girls who got unlucky but aNYways, meirong auditioned at mtm and came back home. the next week, she got a call saying that she was accepted. her father disapproved this at first because he believed that she would follow his path and he felt betrayed. he tried to stop her but she and her mother tried to convince him, at the end, meirong's father let her go without saying goodbye.
she knew she disappointed but she promised to work hard so he would feel proud of her, hopefully, someday.
mtm bought her plane ticket and they came back to south korea two days later and her journey of becoming an idol begin from there.
LIFESTYLE: meirong is always one of the members who wake up early than the rest. she can either go to practice alone ( which she usually does and will come back probably like an hour later when everyone is awake ) or just does the stuff she likes since she's someone who is active and hates sleeping a lot. she's gotten into an art university and will attend classes whenever she can. she's also one of the members who do the house chores and cooking in their dorm, let's just say that she has a role of an older sister lmaO– not a mother because she's more like a sister!!
