background

— younha was born through an accidental pregnancy. both her parents weren't asking for more child as they already have one girl and two boys so far. but as soon as she was born to the world, her parents and the three of her siblings were happy again and welcomed her warmly into the family. the family was now complete of two females and two males. while her older sister grew up fast, it was only her and her brothers left. they grew up together with her brothers taking a great care of her and protecting her upon knowing she is the youngest and most vulnerable.

— growing up, younha knew she couldn't just count on her brothers who started to get older and older since they have about eight or nine . although they insist to take care of her, she began doing things on her own like going out alone and so on. her brothers eventually chanel their skill of dancing through tv shows and joined yg entertainment as two of the dancers eventually. she is now all alone... going to school while stuck in a dilemma of following her sister or her brothers. one day, when she came home from school, someone was following her but both deuk and dony were fortunately there too to follow her. since then, they convinced her that she is better off with them since she is still a kid ( well, to them at least ).

— after discovering her own talent and got conviction from both her parents and older siblings, younha finally decided to follow the steps of her brother when she entered senior high and auditioned as a singer in yg entertainment who rejected her on her first try with singing. she tried once more and finally accepted as a trainee as soon as she showed the dancing skill her brother taught her and a bit of a rapping skill. deuk and dony were happy to accept her into the label and told her she should just stay in their apartment since they have two rooms, and also convinced that it would be okay for deuk to stay with dony for the time being.

— until she was finally accepted as one of dxx, she stayed all night and all day in their apartment. so they always go out and come home together most of the time especially when practising and after doing so. deuk and dony believed that she have enough talents to be an idol and will support them until the end.

younha and her sister wasn't so close due to the high . despite that, they loved each other more than anything... although they can fight over anything that came from their miscommunication sometimes and it would always be younha who became the victim. recently, younhee keeps in touch with her through text messages since younhee didn't live in seoul but still in gyeonggido with their parents. she is very supportive of her dream and promised to come to her first concert once she became an idol. younhee has got a fiance too and is going to be married, so she can't really spend as much time as deuk and dony to watch her practices and progresses, but she will always pray for her siblings.

deuk is the oldest son of the family. he is the concrete example of a gentle and calm brother who loves his family, friends and those people around him. deuk will always be the one asking how she's doing every single day through every media if they can't meet in person. while there is dony, the concrete example of a fierce-looking and playful brother who is the one who will always cheer her up whenever she feels down or tired. although he doesn't ask her as often as deuk is, dony is still close with her and loves her with all his heart. although, well, he would bicker with her over the smallest things like a remote tv, game, choices, music, earphones and so many childish stuff. the three of them lived together before she was moved to dxx's dorm, so they shared mostly everything; food, ac, tv, music, etc. they always come to visit her whenever they can while bringing her favorite food and drinks. while both of them gets quite protective and possessive when she gets close with a guy, deuk is supportive of her relationship with junhoe, but dony seemed to can't let go of her yet.

gray chose her as one of the upcoming girlgroup's members as soon as he evaluated her team that day. her voice caught his attention the most at the time of moment. he was even more convinced when he watched her solo dancing to a r&b song with full energy. his first impression was held when he saw her on mix and match while performing with team bobby. soon, gray began talking to her regarding to it and automatically making himself her mentor. unlike any mentor-hoobae relationships, they have it like brother and sister figures who gets playful at times. although they can be serious when it's time, they are really unbeatable once becoming playful together. anyway, he always taught her how to be a good entertainer if she wants to become one and it apparently becomes quite helpful. gray only hopes she can make it to successful debut as he counts on her.

since minjung is dating her brother, deuk, it is not wrong for younha to get to know the one her brother is dating. well, fortunately for her, minjung approached her before she did. minjung knows how to get younha's heart into approving her with deuk. they became quite close over time and hung out a lot when minjung wasn't hanging out with deuk, or when they tagged her and dony along to their date. minjung supports her a lot for her debut and is willing to help her anytime whenever she needs... and she promised to take both her brothers to watch younha's first concert as an idol if she really make it.

jihae and younha first met when they were junior high schoolers. jihae offered her an empty seat next to her on the very first day of school orientation and immediately became friends. both were best friends since that day. after discovering younha's talent, jihae supported her to enter a company and be an idol - and both separated once younha really struggled to achieve it, for both herself and her friend who have supported her. now jihae only talked to her though chats or video calls whenever both weren't busy considering that younha almost debuted and jihae is a university student trying to get her title.

Q: How was your trainee life?

— my trainee life was, well, a bit up and down. *laughs softly* at first, i would love everything from the place until the practice methods in the company but soon after that i found myself bored and tired over time. many artists are nice toward us trainees and i really appreciate the big family-like atmosphere *nods*, the staff and others who aren't idols are not less nicer either. i love them. but the practice was a bit rough especially when we need to evaluate in front of g-dragon sunbae, yg sajangnim, crews from aomg and other yg staff including my brothers. *smiles* but it was worth it. i made friends, i got experiences, i learned, and now i have things to carry with me as an idol.

q: Is there any particular idol(s) from yg or aomg that you feel close to? that has helped you while you're still a trainee?

— from yg, i do have taeyang sunbae and junhoe as my closest friends. i do have my brothers too. *chuckle a bit* meanwhile, in aomg, i think it's all of them? i initially was close with gray sunbae, soon he would introduce me to simon sunbae and then of course jay park and cha cha malone and the rest of them actually. but i am closest to gray and simon sunbae as far as i analyzed. *smile*
