I was browsing the AFF couples of days ago and I stumbled on this title:

No, it is not the 2,000KP that caught my attention. It is the "Support Authors! Comment More!". To be very honest, as an author here in AFF, I do not really care about the number of karma points I received (in fact, at the end, I usually spend it to pay for trailler, beta-reader, reviewer, advertisement, etc). Because it is not the karma points that makes me keep on writing. It is the readers. Every single time I read the readers' comments, I always have this cute silly smile on my face, even my friends thought I received a text from my crush everytime I stare at my phone and read the comments. The upvote as most authors say, it is of course appreciated but more than the number of vote, the comments for me is way more personal. Maybe you also notice that I usually reply the comments on my stories because I love talking to my readers. I want to know their thoughts, their expectations, their inputs, advices, ideas. I love to have this author-reader interaction. An author wouldn't be an author if there were no reader, right? And since I am still in this learning phase (well, to live is to learn, so basically I will always need to learn and open no matter how long I've been writing), the comments my readers left mean a lot to me. They are my motivation. Of course there are simple comments like "Nice story. Update soon." which usually bother the authors. No, it is not because we, the authors, do not appreciate that simple comment but we also want to know whether you like the story or not? Do our stories meet your expectation or not? Do you enjoy reading it? What do you expect to be in the next chapter, and any other input that can help us providing a better stories for you in the future. As much as we enjoy writing, we also want you to enjoy reading our stories. That is why, your comments mean a lot to us, the authors.

So, back to the title and the post I've mentioned before. When I stumble upon that giveaway, I immediately click the link and I personally think this is a great idea to motivate people to leave more comments. I think it is a win-win offer for both authors and readers because both parties can get advantage of it. The authors can get feedbacks for our stories while the readers can get a chance to win 2,000KP. I hope this giveaway will help authors to get more insights from the readers and of course it will be our motivation to give you better stories in the future!
