STAGE NAME  Jaekwang and BigHit went through a variety of stage names before he finally gave up and went with Jaekwang. A couple of the stage names he wanted: JK, Jae, Jaesus, Kwa, Kwan, Kwakwan, Kwing, Wang, SeJae, Jisang, J-A, S.O, JO.

NICK NAMES                      

° [ Young man ] His older brother, managers, anyone really that isn't around at the same time as camera is, as they are much more aware of his real, and very stupid person he really is and aren't fooled by his adorable, cute angel face. Mostly addressed because he's being scolded for being an idiot.

° [ Jaesus/Angel ] The fans nickname for him as he completes the triplet trio of Kim Taehyung, Hong Jisoo and himself all being born on December 30, 1995. Fans have often joked about the three being linked ot Jesus, while Jisoo worships Jesus, Taehyung needs Jesus and Jaekwang is Jesus.

° [ Jae/Kwangie ] Both are shortened versions of his name that he prefers to go by. All friends and family call him this.

UALITY  Jaekwang's really never had a preference to a gender, hell, his brother always told him "all that matters is personality", Jaekwang took the phrase to heart. APPEARANCE How do you describe utter perfection and beauty? Like many idols, Jaekwang posesses the gift of switching from hot to adorable in mere seconds. His dusty rose lips and well-defined cupid's bow puffing up just the slightest in the cutest pout, before his shining white teeth bite into his bottom lip. Or his pale porcelain skin that rounds into perfect circles when he smiles, his eyes turning to moon crescent, before chiseling out when he smolders, showing off his cheekbones and sharp jawline. Not to mention his nose, many often calling it out as fake, Jaekwang will assure you it's 100% real, it's just a bit to pointed then perfectly rounded out for most people, nose bridge and all. His natural inky black hair that he refuses to ever dye or bleach ever, same goes with styling, refusing to let a curling iron get anywhere near him. Instead, he'll style it up with gel or make it messy. And never, ever forget the muscles. *drools* the muscle. He's not the buff guy of Black Dragon, with an eight pack and perfect biceps, but they're good enough to know he tries. He's still on the scrawnier side of the spectrum, with small arms, abs from a good three months of training (We have no idea how to desribe muscles so just think either EXO's Baekhyun or EXO's Chen.)

STYLE Everyone tends to look at Jaekwang and think that he's just walked out of a photoshoot. His fashion sense seems to come straight out of a magazine, being bold yet something everyone wishes they'd look just as good in. Jaekwang knows that all he has are his looks so he tries his best to exentiate them as best as possible. He's no preference for color or style, as long as it something trendy and designer he'll probably wear it. Make-up wise, Jaekwang is on the more natural side, only liking to natural makeup like toupe shadow in his crease and a thin line of eyeliner. >Fashion<

PERSONALITY

 

When we say Seo Jaekwang is a good boy, we do not mean GD and Taeyang's song. Jaekwang is actually a good boy, he has a strange obsession with Black Dragon's leader and is often joked to be in love with the other. The visual is often a favorite among strangers (make-up artists and stage managers) because how easily it is to get him to cooperate and not mess around. Afterall, Jaekwang is very determined to prove (mainly to himself) that he has what it takes to be an idol. While everyone else is pretty aware of his potenital, better known as his face, Jaekwang feels a need to prove his worthiness to Black Dragon, BigHit Entertainment, and the whole industry in general. He pushes himself to limits and farther than he ever had too before. 

Not to mention he's a good company to have around. He has an inviting apperance and good-natured aura to him that makes it easy to open up to him. Jaekwang is always willing to lend a listening ear and encouraging words for anyone out there that needs them. Afterall, he knows better than anyone what it feels like to needs a self-esteem boost. His own self-esteem boosts come from the attention. No one really knows what it is, BigHit jokingly calls it "the visual effect", but something about Jaekwang makes it impossible to keep your eyes off of him. He's like that really pretty person in class that you can't help but take a peek at every once and a while. During interviews, everyone is quiet when he speaks, practically hanging on to every word he says (it's not like he says that much).

To Seo Jaekwang, being an idol means a lot of things. Being able to rap, dance, sing, as well as have a charismatic image on stage. Hence, why he's always pushing himself so far. Knowing his only strong is his apperance while the rest is far the behind the rest of Black Dragon. Pity, is not something anyone likes, Jaekwang included. He hates the other seeing him struggles or get frustrated because of the sad looks they always share. That's why Jaekwang works so hard to hide his pain. The bruises under his shirt, and the small scratching in the back of his throat are things he hopes the others never know.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that Jaekwang is fake. I would just say he's different on camera than he is in real life. When other members or idol friend mention him, one of the first things they would say is how different he is on and off camera. Claiming he has a completely different personality depending on if it's on or not. The reason being? Fear, pure and utter fear of the camera. Fear of what others would see, fear of himself not being able to amount to anything.

One thing that everyone knows without it being constantly told? He's a visual for a ing reason, cause he's a fashionista. Jaekwang has always seemed to being able to grab and hold everyone's attention with his existence. One day he could go from leather pants, boots and a hoodie to converse, shorts and a sweater and look just as great in both. Often joked about being the top trend later on in Black Dragon's career he is often referenced for fashion designs and models as wells as apperances on shows for fashion. 

Like every other idol ever, Jaekwang's sanity isn't always the most... comfirmable. While he isn't always directly showing his crazier side to the camera. There are times fans, members, and friends are able to capture his insanity for the internet to behold. During secret cameras, he tends to act out, or when he's with Taehyung (that is until he realizes the cameras on). Or in the background of other groups or members cameras, the amount of times Toby has had Jaekwang derp or strange antics in the background is too many times to count.

As mentioned in the last paragraph, his sanity is very, very, questionable. Somehow managing to cause genuine fear among those close enough to truly know him. Afterall, he, Jisoo and Taehyung are triplets for more than just their birthdays, but also their true, insanity to the core. It's ironic considered on camera he's considered to be the most well-behaved and one of the shyest people in all of K-pop. He is one of the shyest actually, it's once you get to know him that you realize... Being his friend was one of the worst decisions you can ever make. Screaming voicemails at two in the morning, attempting to eat everyone's ears. But yes, Jaekwang is never one to intiate conversations with strangers, or anyone, especially on camera.

Reason being that Jaekwang has a bit of a complex. He believes that he's already been rejected by the rest of the world, as the talentless idol, or the part of him that is absolutely worthless is everything but his face. A common thought that's run through his head, "Dear face, thanks for giving me an actual shot at life, how far can we fake it?" Further shoving himself into a bubble of insecurity, self-criticalness and negativity. Failing to ever see any real talent that he may posess.

To add onto Seo Jaekwang's fear to talking to strangers. In general, he doesn't actually know how to talk to people (unless of course his conversations with Taehyung count). Drawing strangers in with his face then slowly scaring them away with his awkwardness. A couple examples would be, too much eye contact, not actually replying, blurting random questions, finding creative ways to say the least possible amount of words and more. Going along with his insecurity, he has some bad anxiety. When the camera's on he has a constant fear, of screwing up, showing everyone he's just a stupid handsome piece of . He tends to stutter as well, hiding his face, giving what the faces think of as mysterious and calm.

 

 

 

BACKGROUND
 

To say Seo Jaekwang had a lot of siblings would be an understatment. Then again, it's not like any of them were his real siblings. He lived in a foster home since he was practically born. His foster father, Bang Changmin, worked as a doctor at the hospital where he was born and happened to overhear plans to send Jaekwang into the ophranage. Jaekwang's real parents were part of program for teen pregnancies in order to prevent or decrease the number of abortions. 

The Bang couple were well-known in the city for adopting orphans into their big estate at the edge of the city. Reason being is after their attempt for their own kids, they had a set up of triplets. The oldest was girl, Chami, the middle was boy, Jisang, and the youngest was a still born boy that was mean to be named Dongmin. At two months old, Jaekwang was officially adopted into the surplus family. 

Like many of his other newfound siblings, he was constantly babied by the Bang children. Especially since he was one of the youngest, having a ten year difference between him and Chami and Jisang. Jisang always naturally had a motherly instinct for his younger siblings and took care of them better than anything else. Especially since their parents had to work a lot overtime, despite being a wealthy family it took a lot of money for the children to be able to live comfortably.

Even back then, Jaekwang was 'the runt' of the pack. He wasn't artistically gifted like Chanmi, or a saavy in the kitchen like Jisang. Jaekwang had his aegyo, youthful charm and forever good looks to get him to shine through like his siblings. While everyone else had charms like smarts, and any other actually useful skills Jaekwang only got compliments on his looks. For example, "what a handsome boy we have here!", "Jaekwang wins being the cutest in the class." "And look at this man, isn't he handsome?"

As a child, all the way up to being officially drafted into BigHit, he recieved offers to join companies as a model. Most were of course hoping to take an offer as to eventually turn him into an idol and actor. It's common for many ulzzangs to have this fate, most known examples being Kim Myungsoo, Ahn Jaehyo and Kwon Mina. When he was 15, he finally took an agent up with their offer. He had approval from his siblings as well as parents to be able to persue a career that's been waiting for him since childhood.

The company he joined was Blossom Entertainment, a talent agency that was completely focused on acting and modelling. He did many campaigns for clothing and lifestyle magazines. Everyone slowly watched through photoshoot after photoshoot how he progressed from a cute 15-year-old with eye smiles that could sell everything, to the tall and handsome 18-year-old who had a smolder that could melt anyone's heart.

His contract with Blossom ended when he was 19, BigHit immediatley swept in to get into their new boy group they've been forming, Black Dragon. He automatically declined, fearing their reaction to his miniscule skills. Sadly, the company had been very persistent, and he was close friends with Taehyung, who had debuted a year after their contract ended. So as well BigHit agents coming to convince him, he also had his friend coming onto him joining, depite knowing his lack of singing, dancing and rapping.

° [ Bang Jisang ] Step-Brother / 30 / Doctor (OB-GYN) / Jisang was always the big brother figure for all of the family, he's constantly babying his younger siblings even if they are all nearly or fully grown up now, they're just children in his eyes.
° [ Kim Taehyung ] Best-friend / 20 / Idol (BTS) / Birthday buddies in the same company? Of course they're going to be close. As well as both fluent aliens, only speaking Taehyung's native language when around each other.
° [ Hong Jisoo ] Best-friend / 20 / Idol (Seventeen) / The other birthday buddy to complete the triplets. While Taehyung is the loud crazy one, Jisoo is the friendly sweet one and Jaekwang is the shy mysterious one. He's also the one to take care of them.
° [ Toby Taekyung Liebenthal ] It's Complicated / 19 / Groupmate (BlackDragon) / Toby has jeered on him the most when it comes to his lack of talent, being he's the most talented. On camera Toby cuddles up to an uncomfortable Jaekwang and fans find it cute. The dorky and the cool, they ship them together, calling them Jaeby, oblivious to the tension between the two.

PERSONA [ The Hot and Mysterious ]  The fans take his quietness yet calm nature on camera as a mysterious persona, he's absolutely silent, causing MCs and other members to make games out of him talking. He's quite good at keeping the persona as it's not really acting, but his genuine fear of being on camera.

TRAINEE YEARS & EXPERIENCE [  Blossom Entertainment 2010-2014, BigHit 2014-Debut ] 

 To say Blossom was a lot easier to be in than BigHit would be an understatment. The company wasn't one for idol groups so they never pushed him to hard when it came to training. They let him choose him campaigns he wanted to participate in as well as his schedule. It had broke his heart when they suggested taking up the BigHit's offer, saying he needed to grow braver and have more confidence in himself. Blossom's suggestion had been what really pushed him into joining BigHit.

He cried a lot when he first came to BigHit and had major anxiety problems, there were times when he was so scared to dance in front of the others he threw up. They didn't make him feel any better. Especially Toby. He grew close to the hopeless nightingale quickly as the two of them have an understanding. While one has the best vocals but least face, the other has all the face but no vocals.

 With Blossom Entertainment he did lots of campaigns for companies such as Dr.Jart+, TonyMoly, Bean Pole and Who A.U.
