Do you include real life brand names in your fanfics?

To answer my own question, I try not to 'cause I feel like some brands aren't internationally the same name/aren't popular/don't even exist in some countries/states/provinces etc, and I don't wanna have to make someone look up whatever brand name, ya know? And same for movies, songs, food brands, drink brands, whatever. I try not to name actual ones and just describe whatever brand I'm thinking of as best as I can. (But I know a reason some people may add them is to add some realness to their fics.)

So yeah, do any of you include brands names in your fics? And any reasons why, whether you do or don't?

Mmm, I guess. Sometimes I’ll use real life brand names and names of products in real life and whatnot, but there are also other times where I might make something up from scratch or make up something that is supposed to be similar or inspired by another thing. For example, in a story of mine, instead of having say Apple and I(Electronic Device Here), I’ve created a new type of company/products that are like it. Meanwhile in other things, I’ll have the characters eat cereal for breakfast and use actual cereal like Waffle Crisp and such. I don’t know why I do it like this but I just naturally do I guess. And yeah, like MissMinew said, it’s not really like something that big or important for me that I don’t even really think much about what to do.

I .. don't know? I don't think about it. I'm not sure whether I have or not. I don't think it's very important to me, haha. A sneaker is a sneaker, an overpriced coffee is an overpriced coffee, chocolate is chocolate and a t-shirt is a t-shirt. The brand itself is not important to me.
I can't 100 % say I haven't written brand names ever, because I can't remember. I probably did. But not lately. (Not that I can think of).
