ELABORATION —
• the good leader isn't the loud ones, but those who knows the members : yijeong's always seen as one of the more 'cool' contestants of goddess, being quiet, almost always adapt and relaxed. but truthfully, she's just in-tune with her own nature; the little details, the small gestures, the interactions; none of them were lost in her eyes. and when faced with other contestants (especially in groups), she's the one to ensure that everything about their concerns and needs are listened, prioritized, and understood. and she always tries to motivate them as much as she could. her attentiveness comes with her being organized; settling priorities, utilizing people (again, especially when in group challenges) to their full potential, and with that, she has to bear through everything. she's calm and collected, being able to strike through bad rumors and had people talking behind her backs; and she's much more determined to prove people wrong about it. and she never takes failure as a slumping card; everything is delivered in high-quality regardless of her mood, and while she doesn't like all the challenges the judges gave to her, she knows it will be her stepping stone to reach better things. every criticism gets her to up herself better than the her before; and she's going to reach it, no matter what. part of her personality gains tract with others, good or bad.
a girl's difference with the others is everything but being different itself : yijeong's big goal was a debut. that's it. her passion in music is thoroughly notable and her desire to make her own thing is always there since she penned some of her own solos before entering goddess. her talent is known and while she may not even make it, she wants to provide the best chances of being known. she's prepared, yet at times, her ambition tends to drive people away (or worse, turns it into somewhat a competition with particularly plucky contestants). her independence means she needs no heed to others and can perfectly take care of herself in relative seclusion; she doesn't come off as very attention-seeking, but those who are used with softer sunshines are more off-put with her own personality.
sometimes, it's hard to get rid of bad habits : a past upbringing of harsh failures and rejections never sits well; she doesn't reinforce the stereotype. always crushing the prejudice, she was highly sought (if not respected due to her young age). but being barely 21, she's still younger than she looks and acts. in attempts to do so at the time she's not going to be taken seriously, harsh, straight-up crushing rejections and pain has left her in a sour view of the world. and when she's not careful with being untalkative herself, slipping up would cause disasters with the k-netz. and while she always attempts to do take care of people she's supposed to, most of the time, if she doesn't held them favorably (or had done something effectively making them worth it), she doesn't hesitate to cut them off when they had went straight too far. the indifference had people calling her 'heartless', but she could only do so much before the most logical thing to do had to be done. and sometimes, being too private gave out the false assumptions that she meant evil and manipulation and harm—she doesn't. she tends to keep herself guarded when coming with the tricky idol industry; when she doesn't become careful enough, what past she desires to keep personal and close to her heart would be blown out of the water, potentially destroying her family, friend, and herself.
BACKGROUND + CURRENT EVENTS —
• Junyi's life is pretty hazy up until a certain point—for one, she didn't know who her real parents were, only her older brother. They'd lived in foster homes frequently, when no one decided to adopt them either. So living has been on and off until her brother, five years older than her, managed to free himself up until he was 19, where, just as he entered university, took Junyi to live with him.
• They barely made it well above—Junyi was well fourteen and wouldn't be allowed legal work as she continued school, while Jiho barely had all the time while balancing university (software engineering major). He also knew that Junyi's talent of being a singer, where she would occasionally sing at the church's choir at the time they were in foster homes. But he didn't have the money to afford any training, so he was forced to settle with silently encouraging her. She also entered several competitions, some which she won, and could save money for the two of them. But one day, a particular judge, a woman, was interested with her singing voice. She asked her whether she wanted to join any company, but Junyi declined when she knew she couldn't afford the price. Turns out, the woman was a vocal coach, who'd recently dropped out from SM Entertainment, and while she couldn't afford to persuade her, agrees to help her with it for free. When Junyi got home, she told her brother of it. At first he didn't agree, but when she kept on persuading him, he relents. She continued improving, and was one of the best singer in her school. When she's 16, her conditions only started stabilizing—her brother secured a job after unpaid internship in the workshop, and was able to continue his college in engineering major.
• So when he was able to afford a better place for all of them, he encouraged her to thank taewoo—and get into an entertainment company. She still went indie at first, per taewoo's recommendation, and took the name hayley. but later on, when she was 19, taewoo gave out the pamphlet for bighit's audition. So she take it, and was accepted. She trained for one year and nine months.
• training in big hit for one year almost made her a stranger, but when given a hard personality, it's kind of difficult not to notice a trainee who made a strong impression. Most trainees had a slightly better impression had they known her well—but right away she's also making a lot of 'rivals' she's not aware of, as she managed to pass monthly evaluations with ease and she's always striving for improvement.
RELATIONSHIPS —
• older brother - jung jiho (26) - software engineer - stern, determined, loyal - her role model. He's her strong rock when she felt down, and after being at ups and downs to a successful software engineer currently working at samsung, he's the one that told her to go big in life when she had all the chances now. he made her believe, and fueled her determination as a successful idol despite her past.
• vocal coach - kim taewoo (29) - vocal coach (freelance as for now) - carefree, observant, flirty - taewoo is almost scary looking until she's out of the room from training her, where she's one of the more amiable people she'd known in life. taewoo shares a close bond with junyi, training her for a long time as for now. she encourages her not only to strive for her dreams, but also strive for the quality of work, regardless of what she felt. when training, she's ruthless and would nitpick what is wrong with her voice technique.
• idol acquaintance - kim namjoon (23) - idol - quick-witted, passionate, tough - he was present when she was auditioning, and scored a strong impression in front of him and the judges. she respects him as an artist and BTS member, while he found her interesting, although they lacked the interaction to know each other more.
