Readers vs. Authors

It's quite sad to know that some authors deactivate their accounts... And some of my favorites did.

I followed their stories and some were a bit off in terms of grammar, spellings, etc.,

But hey! Some or most of the authors here, inform the readers beforehand, that English isn't there first language. And so was I.

Scanning through the comments made by their readers made me feel rather disappointed for them, being too harsh.

Isn't that consider bullying?

Being a reader, myself. I always tend to appreciate what any writers did.
Well, not everyone can play with your imagination. But they can, and you might not.
Not everyone can construct what they wanted to portray. But they can, and you might not.

And then, rude people came. You critized, and they left.

It's really disappointing.
I even thought I can get to read their story again if I create my own account.

To all the writers, please be strong and continue sharing your beautiful stories. Just ignore those harsh comments.
If you can't help it, then just look at it positively.
See them as people who want you guys to learn through it (but I hope they put it on a gentler way possible.)
As well, you can ask for Beta readers out there to give you a helping hand.
Author-nims, FIGHTING!

To all the readers, let's be kind to this authors. Not all are experts nor professionals.
If you think they're not doing well in the literature, then you might as well, can help being a BETA READER.
It's up to you if you're going to ask for Karma points in exchange.
I know some people out there apply to be a co-author to help their favorite authors do the editing.

Aish. I hope that  author will reactivate. TT_TT

I disagree with the poster below me.

Writing and sharing is not about having to be perfect, it's about enjoying yourself. If someone is not confident in their English yet wants to share their imagination with others, then they should feel free to go ahead! No commenters should ever bash, and criticism is unnecessary unless the author is specifically asking for it. I'm a reviewer but when I read a story just to read it, I would never comment about what mistakes I have found. Comment about the good, or say nothing at all. But sharing ones stories should not be limited to "if your English is good enough". *eyeroll*

professional criticism is fine, but insulting and downgrading an author is wrong. Although I must say, if your're willing to write a fanfic, at least make sure your english is good enough. I personally find it very uncomfortable when reading a fanfic that is full of grammatical mistakes. I understand if you make a few or maybe even typos, but having a lot is just..no.
anyway, if these authors are not confident with their english yet they attempt to write, they should either enhance their english level or hire a beta reader to edit and correct the mistakes.
