BACKGROUND

STAVE 1: WHERE IT ALL STARTED FROM
i. rapid mumbles of strong satoori accent fuels the hectic atmosphere as loud wails from the baby, hot tears streaking down her pink-cheeked face puts everyone in a state of frenzy. "milk, milk, milk," the woman wearing the red ribboned headband mutters, "where's the milk, the milk, the milk," she searches high and low, throughout the tiny caravan. she knows it's here somewhere - she swears she bought a new tin before the crew made their stop at daegu, but she just can't seem the find it, and it's driving her mad. finally she finds up - high up at the third shelf of the cupboard. silently she curses under her breath at whoever placed it there, before she haphhazardly shoves in two tablespoons of powder in and pours hot water from the flask in. the flask's almost empty - she's got to make sure to remember to refil it later or she'll be in deep trouble, before she caps the milk bottle up and shakes it roughly, walking over to the baby still crying, wipes a drop of sweat from her forehead, and gently shoves the bottle into the baby's mouth. the baby stops crying.
ii. it's the year 2009. the baby's grown up to be a strong-limbed girl, hair wildly running in the wind and smile almost always hanging loosely at the side of her face. she's helping out the crew by selling popcorn and other snacks during the performances now. her apron's stained with ketchup and her dress now has a few holes, but she thinks it's cool. she pulls in the biggest sales out of everyone selling the snacks (well, technically right now she's the only one left still doing that, but it doesn't matter to her) and she's proud.
iii. she's twelve now. adolescence hits kyobi like a storm, and although the members of the crew try to soothe her, circus life has never been the most peaceful of lifestyles to grow up in. granted kyobi honestly doesn't really care about the fact that she's an orphan - in the circus they don't discuss about family much - they are family, blood or not. it's not like she's around other kids her age either, since she hangs out with adults almost twenty years or more older than her, and get along just fine (well, technically they raised her up, but anyways) nevermind the fact that she never attended school (the circus folk say she's 'circusschooled', kyobi thinks it's rubbish, but well frankly school sounds like hell even if she's never went anyways, so she doesn't reject the idea) it's not that she doesn't like circus life either, because she genuinely likes it, the animals and the wigs, the frenzied movement every night as they go into a new region, and the excited counting as they sit in a circle and record their earnings for the day together. all she wants is a chance to explore. see what it's out like there. do something else, for a change. it's been twelve years of seeing the same thing, after all. the crew are reluctant to agree to let go of their little butterfly kyobi, but she insists that she can do it, that she'll be able to be just fine. and after a crew member brings kyobi to watch the production of 'a midsummer night's dream', she decides she likes theatre. they start a small fund to prepare her going to school, and in the meantime sign her up for some lessons. two years later, they enroll her in geummun.
STAVE 2: ANTICIPATION
i. for someone who hasn't been to school before, kyobi settles in pretty well. okay, so geummun isn't the most normal school of sorts, but kyobi enjoys her time there pretty well. she's considered lucky that she made it into this elite school filled with rich and snobby kids, anyway - she's a rookie as compared to many of the other scholarship students majoring in theatre too, but she's blessed by the fact that she's a natural at getting into character. kyobi enjoys the whole process of production, ranging from costume sewing to set production to scriptwriting to lighting changes. she excels both on stage and off, and while she doesn't interact much with other students, she doesn't have too much trouble either, despite the fact that most find the girl slightly odd.
STAVE 3: THE REAL BEGINNING
i. it starts off with what seems like an infatuation. he walks past her in the hallways - and her breath quickens as she's given a millisecond to absorb the boy's presence before he's gone. she barely catches a glimpse, but one look at his bright eyes and blonde hair had enamoured her instantly. 'the sun', she mumbles under her breath. 'i think i've just seen the sun.'
ii. she soon finds out that he's yeon junho, a senior. he's two years older, a scholarship student taking prose and importantly - part of the junki's clique all the way at the top. kyobi's never found herself to want to be particularly afflicted to them - why feed yourself to the sharks? but as she steals into the corridors and gets an extra copy of junho's timetable from the guidance counsellor, highlighting the periods in which she would be able to casually brush past him, she decides right there and then that playing with fire would be fun if she got the light and warmth it provided. nevermind the fact that she could get burnt - where's the fun in life without a little danger, right?
iii. kyobi sneaks into the staffroom after school to read junho's work. frankly, it's nothing very extraordinary, obviously written to be bland and lacklustre, but she takes in every word as if they're messages sent from heaven. with every new piece of work she reads she feels a bit closer to him.
iv. kyobi fiddles with the thought of talking to junho. she puts it away almost immediately after it first pops up in her head, telling herself to stop being irrational. instead she resorts to hearing from all the gossipmongers around school, her ears perking up whenever she hears a mention of junho. she catches herself getting aggrieved when a bad comment is made about him, but so as to not blow her cover, she keeps it in. it's only one day when she overhears a girl saying that junho was just 'a mindless wannabe of junki' that she explodes. she screams at the girl in the toilet, her high-pitched shrieks overpowering the girl's terrified screams herself as she claws her hair out. she leaves a bald spot on the girl. as she walks back to her dorm, she knows she should feel guilty. yet as the scene replays in her head, she can't help but feel slightly - if not very, proud of herself. 'i hope junho oppa hears of this,' she thinks to herself.
STAVE 4: THE START OF SOMETHING NEW
it's been two years, but kyobi still hasn't let him go. like how habits are hard to quit, obsessions for kyobi, are hard to subside. he may have graduated, and everyone thinks the girl has gotten over him, but that's just the least of her thoughts. she skulks the halls of geummun, searching for traces of junho which he may have left behind, hope filling up her heart. she tells herself that it's just a casual hobby now (which is weird, actually, what kind of hobby is that) but nevertheless, she joins the club for two reasons - to find out more about junho, and to make sure no one ever lays a hand or speaks a word out about him.
INTERNALLY

ISTP / AQUARIUS SUN, SAGITTARIUS MOON / CHAOTIC NEUTRAL
what does your character think of themselves? the world? what's left of the social pyramid at geummun? the previous 'top dogs' who graduated two years ago? basically - how does their mind work? again, can be done in traditional traits + exposition format, or you can get creative. just bring me your character's thoughts and make it nice.
EXTERNALLY

how does the world see your character? what vibes do they give off, what stereotypes do people pin them with? how do they present themselves to the rest of the world? how does this contrast with your character's internal self? i'd recommend sticking with the same format as you used above. include relationships here, but only the important ones here.
ETERNALLY

what makes your character special? why should i choose them? why are they a part of this group of teenagers? why are they worth remembering? basically, convince me that your character deserves to be 'immortalized' in this fic. feel free to include comments here as well.
