visuals — Bao Thi growing up, had always been a tall girl and always looked fragile at times, but she was more muscles than people knew. her eyes were always piercing and serious, no one could really joke around with her seeing how her face was very solemn. it makes her seem imtimidating, however, the girl has a very comforting appearance when she smiles and laugh. her hair was simply braided into a pretty design in the back, with her hair splitted into three parts, most of the hair would fall behind her back while the little bit would fall in front of her shoulders. normally, when she's casually roaming the streets and what not, she'd wear her traditional ao dai of any color which is a traditional vietnamese silk slit dress with silk pants underneath. even though having to only be a regular girl in town, her nice clothes and wealth comes from her family back in vietnam before she moved to eudaimonia to just travel freely and experience other places.
[Ao dai]

personality —
[+ | honest loyal selfless adaptable persuasive]
[ - |impatient short-tempered impulsive pessimistic arrogant]
;; gemini

growing up, bao thi cherished and honored nothing more than trust in friendships and families. she always wanted others to be constantly honest to her and so with the saying, "treat others how you want to be treated", she did just that. she was always constantly honest with people no matter how much the truth hurt. it's better than some small petty lie. it may seem rude and inconsiderate of her because there were times it didn't really matter to her whether the person was hurt or not by the words she spoke. as well, going with the concept and saying, she was always loyal to her friends. no matter what, it was difficult for her to backstab her friends or go against them because she had develop a sort of relationship with them and to be the opposite of loyal towards them was just not her cup of tea. but very well, if someone were to backstab her - she'd drop them in an instant and its as if they were never apart of her life. she's quite the selfless girl. she always felt others lives mattered more than hers ever will, so with that being said, she always put others before her. if you were to need help and etc, she'd be the first to offer a helping hand, no matter how difficult the favor or job is. rarely she'll ever do anything for herself (besides buying clothes and etc but even then she'd buy stuff for her friends or family).

she had always been adaptable, a quick-learner, if you will, to her surroundings. the first few times, could be quite an obstacle for her, but probably after time of getting used to whatever it is, by the third or fourth time, she'll pick it up quite easily. she's able to warp herself into any situation easily and understand it. whether it's figuring out if someone needs her to play along with their act or learning new things. is quite fluid as water, the way she speaks and uses her words, it's very soothing to hear. she's quite persuasive. she's good with words and usually often lures people in one way or another with words.

sometimes people claim: "The bad overcomes the good". which, in bao thi's case at time, it probably true. her negativity sometimes eats her good side and that's all people see. bao thi has always grown up to very short-tempered. she's a serious person and sometimes anything really could piss her off. it may make her seem sensitive, but she isn't. she just refuses to deal with childish actions or statements from some people. but usually when she gets angered, she'll yell and curse and throw things. she can easily cry to once she's angered, which makes her look vulnerable at times. once she's angry, it usually takes a while before she's cooled down and back to normal. she hates waiting around, she loves to get things done quick and easy and clean. she doesn't want to have to hold back more time than needed, always impatient and wants to get things done quickly. if one things accomplished, then off to the next, no waiting. she's impulsive at times, and doesn't think before she acts and just does it. sometimes that could lead her into deep trouble. especially when she's angered by something that could hurt her personally, she'll go and get revenge or so just because of her being impulsive and angered.

she should be optimistic, but it doesn't always work that way for her. she had always adapted to believe the worse was to happen. even though there were good times in her life - and which she's accepted - she always is prepared for the worse. no good can come without the worse, in her opinion. she's quite the arrogant human at time. especially when she first meets certain people, she'll look very lowly at them, however even when you become her friend, more likely she'll still be arrogant, but just toned down.

inner demon — bao thi's selfless behavior is a flaw on her part, even if to her - she looks at it as a good thing. her selfless actions at time can cause her real danger. only having to care for others so often and forgetting of herself, she's unable to tell whether or not a person is using her, who is there for her, who will always have her back. everyone is nice to her back because her actions so how could she really tell? but once it is found out that she's been used, tricked, lied too, etc - nothing will stop her from killing a person off, hurting them in any way possible as revenge.

for her, it is a pride issue to not be tricked and lied to since she honors friendships so dear to her heart. a lot of the times, she'll begin to have trust issues of the people around her because of one person screwing her over. getting rid of two or three people is as far as she'll go before she can go back to trusting people.

[+ if you don't like this inner demon, you can change it how you like it, i wouldn't mine]

background — quyen bao thi was second daughter and last child to be born in her family. her family were quite wealthy aristocrats. she was always seen as the black sheep from her family. her older sister whom was always cheerful and bright, while bao thi was quite more serious and an explorer type. she loved exploring as a kid, discovering new things about the world. lucky enough to receive education, it only catered to her craving of wanting to know more and what was outside the gorgeous country she was living in. when she was younger, whatever she wanted to learn, her parents let her. that being said, she wanted to learn sword fighting, to defend and protect herself one day in which her father thought was a good idea. she became very good towards the sword fighting. learning quick, she was well able to protect herself one day.

reaching the age of 16, she was basicaly well off herself. independent and doing things on her, the smart young girl she was. it was only until one day leaving the palace and town to go off into the woods to take a stroll without letting her parents know, that the very unexpected thing happened to her. ity was a huge virtue for everyone around her. she met a boy out there which she had been meeting up with for weeks being dumb and careless - she decided to have lost her ity to him, thinking he had really loved her or so. the action was led to him doing that purposely make a fool out of her and her family, bringing embarassment because the boy had a disliking for her family and she never knew why so. because of this, bao thi locked herself up in her room for weeks on end, being shamed and looked down upon by her family member, she had decided to leave and start anew. everyone in town talked about her and it drove her nuts. with this, she told her parents of her leaving and of course, they couldn't stand the constant bicker from neighbours and other nobles. so then, they let their daughter run along to a far off land they didn't know so that she could start anew from her mistake. as well to stop from the creation of more rumors and shames to the family, her parents as well lied to the public of claiming to disowning bao thi and with that - she was off.

she landed upon the kingdom of Eudaimonia, not knowing where to start or what to do, she strolled along the streets, taking in the sight. people were there for a new start in life - a better life, or there to visit. coming across a small bookstore, she saw a table outside and kids sitting around it, trying to write and read. not being able too because of their social status, bao thi immediately felt saddened for the kid. she questioned the bookstore owner as to why no one would bother to help the kids out, all she received back was a shrug from the owner as if he had no care. seeing so, she decided to help the kids a bit, with just that - she decided to end up tutoring those small kids at that very bookstore for two days a week.

later on, living weeks into eudaimonia, she saw little flyers handed out that the palace was looking for a teacher to teach the kids living in the palace. she thought this was a great chance to spread education and learn more about the place she was living in, but in no way, had she ever considered doing it to meet the princes. she didn't care for them and didn't even know who they were or how they looked.

relations

roommate + close friend || wei zhu xiang (24) ||  coming to eudaimonia was already a struggle a bit for bao thi only because it was a new place with diverse people, fairly something she wasn't used too. tutoring the little poor kids definitely wasn't going to give her pay and didn't know what to do, asking around about where to look for a small place to live or if anyone needed a roommate. which she landed upon zhu xiang, he himself, offered her a place to stay. skeptical at first, she eventually agreed because where else could she have lived for the time being. after achieving the teaching job inside the palace, she was able to receive pay and help out zhu xiang. however, in the beginning their encounter was bit bumpy since bao thi didn't speak much or at least to strangers, but over time as zhu xiang  kept insisting on her to speak to him, she began to open up to him and talk. since he was currently the only friend she had made in the town. the two are quite close and fond with each other and tell each other almost everything. (almost because bao thi chose not to reveal her past)

enemy || Xu ming xia (19) || after being able to work inside the palace, bao thi was charming amongst the people who worked under the king and queen. with the way she used her words and expressed herself, they very well thought she was quite a darling. however, ming xia having to overhear that at the palace there was a new person suddenly out of nowhere. the girl hadn't quite recognized her around the palace or town. taking it upon herself, she decided to do a little background check on the girl, having to find out that she'd formerly come from  a wealthy family, instantly she disliked bao thi. bao thi hadn't known of her existence until one day, bao thi was at a little bar or so, just drinking away for the fun of it. when ming xia confronted her, at first it was just to make conversation and be friends (at least what bao thi thought) but then she slowly transferred it into questions about bao thi's past life and how all of sudden she landed in eudaimonia. annoyed by the girl, bao thi simply barked back, telling her to stop talking. ming xia gave her a taunting smile as if she knew everything about bao thi, which scared her. from there, she disliked the girl with a passion whenever she saw ming xia.

lover's background
— wu yi fan, the 3rd child and one of the half brothers born into the kingdom amongst the exo boys. he grew up not getting the least attention but it definitely wasn't the most attention from parents whatsoever. he learned to be on his own for he felt disliked by his older brother xiumin whom was the true son of the king and not just a half. intimidated by him, to be exact. along with the second child, luhan, he didn't get along very much and didn't talk to him. every other brother he talked to bits here and there but many of the times, it was awkward. if he could say who he was closest too, it'd be his brother sehun, which they both come from the same mother or consort, if you will. but even then, sehun had gotten more attention than yi fan ever did in his life time. he didn't like the spoiled brat at times. however, his time alone meant he learned things on his own, achieved things on his own to receive love and attention from the parents, oh how he tried so much. the young man has nothing more on his mind than to fight for the throne. why? to gain attention from people who birthed, from the people who were supposed to love him since the start of his existence. he just wants to be noticed. as much as he loves his claimed brothers, he just has eyes on the throne and he'll stop at nothing to get it. he'll probably poison his brothers or kill them off eventually.

personality — yi fan in the beginning to many think he's quite the odd child. he was quiet growing up, didn't speak much - however he was absolutely polite when he did speak. and he still is. whenever he was with family, he did feel awkward but he genuinely cares for the people around him and the people who've raised him. he was always a curious child, he did whatever and often got himself into trouble sometimes when being a rascal. like choking a cat to see if it'd die, or pulling the fish out of the pond to see if it could still breathe, things like that. he studied hard when he received education, aced the majority of his subjects and often was rewarded, but that still wasn't enough to get his parents attention. that being so, he kept trying for more, aiming higher to get them to notice him and say things like, "that's my son." some would say he's constantly being an overachiever and perfectionist, but he has his reasons. if he isn't perfect about doing a certain thing, it'll bug him to the death of it.

trivia—
- plays chess and does sword fighting
- does everything on his own because he feels sometimes others are useless
- gets upset and lashes out if people make fun that he's a half brother, they make fun of the other ones too but they don't mind
- however, even though he gets the least attention, they trust him the most just because of his school and all, so the parents don't ever worry about him getting into trouble or going to the wrong side ever
- best subject is math and science

inner demon — jealousy ; always jealous of the brothers and always jealous of the brothers that aren't halves. angered and wanting the spotlight on him for once, he's quick to lash out on anyone or get blood on his hands if he has to receive the attention he wants.

love story — Bao thi didn't go to the palace normally until towards lunch to teach so she'd spent her mornings leaving town and going off in the woods to trail around and fish, which happened to begin to be the start of her new hobby. One day, just sitting by the small pond under the tree, she decided to pull out a book to read. suddenly, hearing noises in the forest, she was alert. looking around, she finally saw a tall young man dressed in a common gray hanfu - he was quite handsome, with sharp features. she was confused, she had never seen anyone else in the area she was at before. "who are you?" he asked. "who are you?" she asked back. the male was immediately taken aback that she hadn't recognized who he was. "yi fan." he said softly. seeing that he really wasn't probably any threat towards her, she introduced herself as well. "Yi fan, what a nice name..." she said. yi fan stared at her in confusion, had she really not know who he was? and was just messing around. but in all honesty, she didn't know who the young male was besides his name. "do you know who i am?" he questioned. "no." she claimed. "am i supposed too." her head tilted. he shook his head, "no - i'm a commoner." yi fan had seen her around the palace before, carrying scrolls and stacks of poems to rooms to teach the little youngsters of nobles that lived around. but it seemed that she had never cared about anyone around the palace except for the people she had to teach. noticing how she never asked about the princes that lived there, the king and his wife and consorts and concubines - she simply didn't give a damn. he thought she was the odd ball, a person who wasn't nosy about what went on in the palace. that's what he thought of her. bao thi looked at him, he looked familiar to her, but she couldn't pinpoint where. all she know was that he was handsome. she went on continuing the conversation so there was no awkward presence, asking of who he was and what he did. he insisted he was helping out an old man at the medicine shop, not believing it since she didn't ever see him there, she shrugged and didn't bother pushing the topic any further. sitting in the woods, yifan was constantly debating whether or not to tell her his true identity. but seeing that she was paying attention to him and wanting to get to know him without even know who he really was, it made him feel somewhat comforted.

however, she thought that'd be her first and last meeting with him. she liked being alone. while yi fan had always been alone. days after, they ran into each other again.

"Yi Fan." she nodded. "Bao thi." he spoke.

"Not to be rude... but i called dibs on this pond first," she shrugged as she sat down under the usual tree and pulled out a book. but even with him there, she wanted to be alone, but she didn't mind. plus she couldn't just say go away. he took a seat next to her and the two sat there in silence, bao thi reading a book while yi fan just stared off into the distance.

"what if i was a prince?"

she looked up and turned over to look at his face. her solemn face turned into a smile and a laugh was let out. he stared at her, "what's so funny?" he frowned. "yi fan - you're very handsome, but i mean, not enough to be a prince." he nodded in agreement, "wait - are you calling me ugly then??"

she chuckled, "no, no - just i could never imagine you being a prince. you're not - or at least you don't act spoiled and high and mighty." yi fan gave her a smile. "well, i'm a prince whether or not you believe it." he scoffed. she rolled her eyes and threw leaves at him. "whatever prince charming,"

soon afterwards, the two kept "running" into each other at the woods, getting used to his existence, she wasn't bothered by not being able to stay alone. if anything, besides zhu xiang being a close friends, yi fan became a close friend as well. the two are a bit almost similar in personalities and get along quite well. when together, they talk about the future and questions of the world that are unanswered. occasionally, he'll throw in a few jokes or harmless insults.

"Hey, Bao Thi. your outfit today makes you look like a elephant."

sometimes those comments earned yi fan a punch from her or straight silence because she was so done with him being annoying at times. it was rare that they ever saw each other in town, she found it weird but never questioned him because he probably had his own reasons. although, she had saw him the market once with a few other males that were either his age or younger.

"Hello, Yi fan! odd seeing you here,"

yi fan stiffened and gave her a look, "Oh, Yi fan, who's she?" a younger male peered over his shoulder and asked. "no one sehun, here can you go fetch me this book real quick?" sehun nodded and left. "no one?" she scoffed folding her arms. "yeah... sorry - i didn't mean you were a nobody, it's just like -"

She turned around, "It's cool, you gotta do what you gotta do, don't you mystery man?" she gave a small chuckle as she walked away from him. she always thought he was a bit mysterious, whenever talking to him, bits and pieces of the story was missing but then again that was alright because she never went into full detail about her life with him.

"you remind me of the moon." yi fan smiled.
"You remind me of the swamp." bao thi replied, still a bit upset at yi fan's comment saying she was 'no one' a few days later. in all honesty, the two aren't necessarily aware of each other's backgrounds. but that's quite ok for both. yi fan liked the fact she paid attentioned to him, noticed all the weird things he did and etc. he felt special. with bao thi, she liked her friendship with yi fan. it was yet calming and humorous at times, neither were very needy or clingy towards each other and can enjoy each other's prescence even if it's something as simple as just yi fan resting his head on her lap and staying quiet. however, she just disliked the rare occasions of meeting him in town and he treats her like he doesn't notice her.

relationships —

close brother || oh sehun (22) ||out of all the 12 brothers, yi fan has been closest to the youngest. having to have the same mom, he just felt a better bond. though yi fan is the better and older brother compared to sehun and sometimes sehun gets beaten down because he isn't yi fan, but the two definitely constantly throw jokes and insults with each other. in fact their whole brotherhood like actions are just only insults. ruthless statements thrown at each other not caring if it hurts each other's emotions.

brother || kim jongdae (24) || jongdae is a smart boy and quite a jokester, which yi fan. probably because he found jongdae very humble for someone who was the legitimate son of the king and not half. jongdae always had respect for yi fan and respected the older boy all the time and would hang out with him when he could. he's very sarcastic and replies to all of yi fan's questions sarcastically then laughing when yi fan gets annoyed and walks away.

questions/comments — rjnvdlvnsd so i subscribed to this story a long time ago and totally forgot about it bc i had been constantly busy with summer school and all and then i saw the deadline and panicked DD: but i'm so sorry at some parts were long and i hope it made sense to you (if theres any mistakes, i'll fix it asap) i basically just made yi fan into hiding his identity but then also in a way he revealed it but she didn't believe him... soo... lol i'm sorry TT-TT
scene requests —
- one night bao thi goes out for a midnight stroll and runs into yi fan
- get drunk and accidentally spill out her background which is pretty sensitive to her [possibly accidentally spill it to yi fan or ming xia, when she's just trying to be nice and tolerate ming xia]
- one day when she's at the palace teaching, she accidentally runs into yi fan along with some of the other boys and is shocked or some like tht idk
others — I'd totally be okay with it !! (:
