ELABORATION —
• she's calculative because you know, she's the trainer so she has to be hella good with observation; that's just how she is. she will literally look at you and attempt to tell your life story just based on what she sees.
• hatdo i even need to elaborate on how she's intimidating? look at her. who wouldn't be intimidated, she's way too pretty for anyone to talk to wtf. plus, she's more on the quiet side, so when you have a really pretty chick who's training hard with her pokemon, would you want to talk to her? i rest my case. lol.
• she's reserved because she isn't exactly the best at approaching others (that's just how she's been as a kid), so she waits for the other person to introduce themselves. she keeps to herself most of the time, and she could sit in silence with you for hours.
• how can she not be determined when her plotline is literally the trainer?? she never gives up in a fight, even if she knows that she's going to lose. she's also stubborn outside of matches, and she rarely asks anyone for their help with a task since she's more on the independent side.
• she's optimistic because she never gives up, yadda yadda yadda, you know, the whole determined thing. she'll keep looking for ways to get her out of trouble. she hates being in a bad situation and hates when others are in a bad situation too, so she'll try to comfort people when they're sad and it kinda works out for her.
• she's open-minded because she's willing to give lots of people chances, no matter how bad they seem at first. this sort of ties in with the determined + optimistic thing.
• she's compassionate because even though she may be hard on her pokemon, she's actually really caring about their well-being, so she'll tell them when enough is enough. the same applies to people though, because unhappy people are not good people, so she comforts them and it usually works. whoop.
BACKGROUND + CURRENT EVENTS —
• oh boy, let's go! Im so hyped.
• WHEN YUKIKO WAS LITTLE, SHE HAD A GREAT 10/10 FAMILY: A LOVING MOTHER, A PLAYFUL FATHER, AND AN ANNOYING BUT LOVING OLDER BROTHER.
• HER DAD WAS AN AVID POKEMON LOVER AND OWNED SIX POKEMON OF HIS OWN: A vaporeon, A growlithe, a bulbasaur, a pidgey, a geodude, and an abra. the vaporeon was yukiko's favorite while her brother's favorite was the bulbasaur.
• despite the 10/10 family she had, yukiko was a quiet girl that didn't like to speak.
• people would dub her as the ice princess since she was really unapproachable without her brother around, and that nickname persists to this day.
• she hates when people call her the ice princess since she got bullied for not wanting to speak with other kids.
• when she was five, she met her best friend kumiko. kumiko saved her from being bullied and from there, they became the best of friends.
• throughout her childhood, her mom forced yukiko to learn korean, but she hates learning it because of how hard it is. she gave up on learning korean and can only speak at a second-grade level.
• despite having the time of her life, it all went downhill when her father left her for training when she was seven.
• the reason yukiko felt betrayed wasn't just because it was her dad, it was because her dad was her role model. he was the one who showed her how to train pokemon the way she does today. he taught her everything she knew about pokemon, and he was just going to leave her.
• as a going away present, he gave his children their favorite pokemon. yukiko got vaporeon and her brother got bulbasaur. he promised he would come back, but he hasn't since then. they only see him on tv, but he does write. it started out as a letter per month but it turned into a letter each year.
• yukiko strengthened her bond with the vaporeon and nicknamed it 'vape'. she refused to go anywhere without vape, and vape is like her second best friend compared to kumiko. she also began training vape everyday in order to strengthen her trainer abilities.
• her brother then announced one day that he was going to become a trainer when she was eight. he left, and it just became yukiko and her mom (although he comes back from time to time).
• instead of distancing herself even more like she did when her dad left, yukiko decided that she should be on better terms with her mom and kumiko since she would be leaving too someday.
• now, the relationship she has with her mom is goals. the same goes for her best friendship with kumiko and vape.
• her daily routine is to train in the morning, spend time with the people she loves, and then train again in the evening.
RELATIONSHIPS —
• mother - soojung ito (35) - stay at home mom - friendly, loyal, trustworthy, happy-go-lucky - she gives her daughter hugs a lot and tries to let her learn korean whenever she's not out with her pokemon
• father - kevin ito (38) - renowned trainer - shady (i have great word choice), mysterious, reserved, arrogant, observant - he only appeared during her childhood, and when she was seven, he vanished to continue his pokemon training, so she hasn't seen him since. however, he did give her his vaporeon, and it's not like she completely hates him.
• brother - chris ito (18) - trainer - bubbly, happy-go-lucky, friendly, outspokemon - he left when yuki was was eight in order to pursue more pokemon to train. when they were together though, they were sibling goals bruh that's all i can say. he pops up occasionally these days, so they're on good terms.
• childhood best friend - kumiko oumae (15) - soon-to-be breeder - bright, optimistic, sensitive, hyper, insecure - they're childhood best friends and they do what best friends do, especially since they're best friend goals. (SHE isn't that important i just have a thing for relationships like this)
TRIVIA —
• yukiko is a very good singer. she hums under her breath most of the time, and usually fast-paced music is the background music used during training. she brings her mp3 with her wherever she goes.
• if you call her ice princess, she will never let go of that. she never lets go of grudges in general. the only way to make her happy really quickly is to give her her favorite food. give her time and she'll want to be around you, but she doesn't forget.
• her favorite food is ice cream. just give her any flavor and you'll be fine.
• she's good with remembering people's birthdays, but not their names. she will call you a nickname in order for her to remember who you are. don't be surprised if it's the third time she's spoken to you and she already calls you a certain nickname.
• she cannot wear boots. she can wear heels in fancy events, and you can never see her without her signature black sneakers, but boots? forget it.
• she is very good at making puns, she just doesn't say it out loud unless she really wants to. if you catch her giggling quietly, it's 98% of the time that she's laughing because of a stupid joke.
STARTER NAME — charmander (bubbles, and it's a guy). charmander didn't like yukiko at first and cried whenever they trained. he tried to run away one day, and she actually saved him from being kidnapped. from then on, they're really good friends and don't need communication to be happy in each other's presence. bubbles is kind of sassy though, and yukiko hates it, but it's great to see them argue. still good friends though, 9/10 goals. yuki does know when enough is enough for training though, and charmander enjoys that the most :'))
BACK UP STARTER — squirtle (zuko bc viva la avatar and it's a guy). basically the same thing as above if i can't have my bb char.
PKMN #1 — vaporeon was given to yukiko by her dad when he left. bff's for life tbh. goals af. also, vape is a she. level 45 op and hidden ability is water absorb :')
PKMN #2 — charmander/squirtle was from prof. oak. they are good friends, but maybe more on the petty side. level 15 for either or, ability for charmander would be blaze while squirtle would be torrent.
PKMN #3 — alakazam was 'accidentally' traded into her account. yukiko tried to find the person who took her butterfree and traded him for alakazam, but it was no use because the person never showed up?? level 19, ability is synchronize, it's a guy, and his nickname is "KAZAM". THEY ARE PRETTY GOOD FRIENDS BUT KAZAM IS MORE ON THE LAZY SIDE.
PKMN #4 — machamp WAS 'ACCIDENTALLY' TRADED INTO HER ACCOUNT A DAY AFTER KAZAM. SHE LOST HER DEWGONG TO THIS MACHAMP. YUKIKO LITERALLY ATTEMPTED TO CONFRONT THIS PERSON, BUT WHEN THEY ESTABLISHED A MEETING TIME AND PLACE, ALL SHE GOT WAS A NOTE THAT SAID "THIS WASN'T AN ACCIDENT. I KNOW YOU'D BE BETTER OFF WITH THEM THAN I WOULD.' (SHE STILL DOESN'T REALIZE THAT IT WAS HER dad). this machamp is a girl surprisingly, and her nickname is 'macho'. ability is guts or no guard, level 29, and she and yukiko get along very well - especially during training.
PKMN #5 — tauros was trying to steal food, but macho stepped in and they got into a fight of some sorts. yukiko captured it after defeating it in battle, and they're still not on the best of terms. tauros does like training though, and battling, but it doesn't like yukiko that much after catching her. it's okay though, it's slowly warming up. it's a guy, nickname is 'tar', ability is anger point, and level 17.
PKMN #6 — haunter pulled pranks on yukiko when she walking in the forest, and she got so fed up that she battled it. it lost, but it still liked her, so she captured it. the best way to describe their relationship was be frenemies, but yukiko hates training with him because he's so hyper. also, yeah, it's a he, nickname is 'haunt', ability is levitate, and level is 26.
BOX POKEMON — caught in the future, i guess: chansey, scizor, pikachu, pidgey, ninetales, and lapras :')
TRAINER — woohoo battle style! yeah, she's the trainer, so this is gonna be lit!!! she's both on the defensive and offensive, but usualy, when she wins in a battle with a strong offesnive attack, she says "offense is the best defense." :') there are times though where she knows she literally can't do anything against an opponent, she will literally just use all the defensive moves she can and hope that her pokemon can withstand. after all, the one who faints first is the loser. as long as her pokemon doesn't faint, she's completely fine. also, what the heck is type specialty?? her team is hella well-rounded bruh !!! she tries to make her team as well-rounded as possible, that way if she encounters a certain type of pokemon, she has at least some sort of an idea about what type it'll have a disadvantage towards. she really does like ice pokemon though, it's strange how infatuated she is with them. of course, she's not a noob bruh, her dad is literally a renowned pokemon trainer. he taught her everything !!! :')

PERSONALITY —
• she's sort of shy once you talk to her, but she always manages to draw attention to herself like wtf
• however, she is determined. at this point, it's crazy how stubborn she is. she watched paint dry on a wall to prove a point to yukiko.
• she gets easily flustered, just saying. like every kawaii anime girl protagonist.
• she's so sensitive too like she can cry about anything. a n y t h i n g. she cries because she broke her pencil and yukiko tries not to laugh every single time.
• she's really friendly too though, she really likes people for some reason. but she doesn't like mean people. she is such a people person, it's scary sometimes.
LOVE STORY —
• i'm telling you rn, this love story isn't that necessary bc i don't plan on them getting together: but i am so bored so here is my best friend goals story :')
• like i said before, yukiko was always getting picked on as a kid. she didn't like talking, so she just took it and dealt with it as if it was normal. mind you, she was a kid.
• kumiko stepped in when they were five years old and she stopped the girls from bullying yukiko. afterwards, the girls actually left her alone and yukiko was just so confused. kumiko just blushed and ran away.
• the next day, kumiko just randomly sat next to yukiko and started talking to her, but now, she was even more confused bc ?? wtf??
• kumiko literally got up and screamed "i just wanna be your friend is that so weird?!?!?!?!" everybody else was shocked, and yukiko just started laughing.
• from then on, they have been best friends and see each other everyday. they are literally best friend goals i you n o t.
• when they hang out, it used to be through planned playdates and , but now it's more like yukiko shows up at kumiko's house and they just do random things.
• if one is sad, they show up at the other's house with a scrapbook of all their memories from when they were little and a tub of ice cream. it hasn't failed yet.
• ^if they're just completely heartbroken, one will just show up and cuddle for the rest of the night. e
• yukiko realized she was in love with her best friend when she was 12.
• ekumiko was having a bad day, and it was the morning afterwards. she was platonically spooning her when yukiko brushed the bangs out of her forehead and had the urge to kiss her right there and then.
• yukiko was like " wtf" and she went to talk to her mom about it and her mom was like "are you sure you don't like her?" and everything just crashed.
• they're okay now, everything's back to normal, but yukiko avoided kumiko for a few days to sort out her feelings.
• yukiko hates being best friends and she wants to be so much more, but she's too scared to make a move. so basically she has an unrequited love with her best friend?
• they left pallet town on the same day because yuki wanted to be a trainer and follow her father's footsteps while kumi was going to work under a pokemon breeder. v sad :'(
