STYLE —

Miyeon, coming from a warm climate, is still adjusting her style to fit South Korean standards, even after living there for six years. Due to this, she sometimes sticks out like a sore thumb. This never fails to embarrass her, as she can be quite self conscious. She tends to wear bright colours, as they reflect her equally bright personality.

APPEARANCE — Miyi has brown hair with subtle gold highlights, which she got after her acceptance into AOMG. Her eyes are a light brown colour and framed by long lashes. Her caramel complexion from America remains, but has paled. She is average height. She doesn't quite have an S-line, though she will proudly tell her friends that she is getting there, even when she probably isn't. She has one piercing on each of her earlobes, and often wears earrings

From a young age, Miyeon has always been very sweet, giving up her seat for old ladies on the bus and giving away her pocket money to buy food for homeless people. Back in America, she volunteered at an animal shelter and thereby fell in love with all animals (other than spiders, insects and snakes). She loves helping out, even though she can be lazy. One thing that she learnt from the dogs at the animal shelter was loyalty. She had heard some of their stories, almost dying to save their owners from house fires and drowning, but getting no reward. From then on, Miyeon made sure to choose her side, and stick to it. Another of her not-so-positive traits is self-conciousness. Because she moved to a whole new country where she couldn't speak the language very well, she was often laughed at and felt as though she always stuck out, and that she was the odd one out. Also, she was often found sobbing her eyes out in the dorm when anti-fans would bash her. However, because she herself hated the feeling, she was often compassionate towards others who felt that way and stood up for bully victims. As Korea is quite a conservative place, Miyeon was often disapproved of for her blunt way of speaking, instead of sugar-coating her words like the others. However, she has also been told that her blunt behaviour is part of her charm, and it is what makes her such a funny individual. She is also a very adventurous person, always the first to jump or to complete a dare, which is why she is viewed as very childish.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS. 

BACKGROUND — Lee Miyeon was born on the 24th April 1996 to a Korean mother and an American father. For the first fourteen years of her life, Miyeon, or as she went by then, Amelia, lived in California with her parents. She was an only child, but she didn't mind that, as it meant that her parents would pamper her more. Actually, after Amelia/Miyeon was born, her mother was unable to conceive so despite wanting another sibling, she couldn't have one. She eventually liked being an only child. Also, she had more than enough friends to fill the gap. Amelia/Miyeon was a very confident and sociable child, so was quite popular at her school From a young age, she discovered her talent in dancing and joined an intensive dance class, but didn't develop her singing skills until later. Every Saturday, she volunteered at her local animal shelter. She got good grades and had lots of extracurricular activities, so she was considered the ideal child, much to the envy of her hardworking best friend Natalia Cross. When she initially heard that she'd be moving, Amelia/Miyeon was heartbroken and was unable to say goodbye. However, she eventually warmed up to the idea, especially as the school she was going to be attending was well known for both its academics and its award winning swimming team. She was nervous to see what her house would look like, as her parents intended to keep it a surprise. However, Amelia/Miyeon was pleased to find herself living in a spacious house with welcoming neighbours on either side. Her first friend there was a girl named Kang Sooyeon, who helped her with the language barrier. For a while, Sooyeon was her only friend, as Miyeon was relentlessly picked on for her overacheiving self and for only being half Korean, so not being fluent. At the age of fifteen, she discovered that she could sing well, which led her mother to entering her for the AOMG audition a year later. However, she was not told about her audition. It was fine though, as she was able to sing the song that she had been prepping for her school's talent showcase. She really looked up to Jay Park, especially as they had both come from America without very much experience of the language. This led to her having a tiny- make that HUGE, crush on him. To this day, she still carries a flame to the CEO, and is not secretive about it. Pretty much everyone that she has ever met knows of her undying love for Park Jaebum. It sounds slightly creepy, but in reality, all it was was a fangirl crush

FAMILY — 

▪ Lee Seyoung | Mother
                             Miyeon is closer to her mother than to her father, as they can discuss 'girly' topics together. They often go out and have a spa or shopping day together. There are very few things that she hides from her mother, and mainly just to protect her.
 

▪ Lee James | Father
                         As her father initially disapproved of her career choice, he would often make snide remarks about it in conversation. Miyeon was patient for a while, but she was soon unable to tolerate it and spoke to him less and less. However, once he realised that she was already on her way to becoming a star and wouldn't stop because of his words, he stopped it and they began to rebuild their once close relationship.

Very close, she loves playing with her pet and he loves to lay down with his head in her lap. This trait of his amuses both Miyeon and guests.

STAGE NAME — Miyi, she used this to reminisce over her childhood days.

TRAINEE LIFE — Miyeon was completely hidden from the public, as she had to undergo vigorous training in vocals. She also had to improve her Korean skills, which she found hard as she is not a natural linguist. She was a hard worker, but always made time for others, which made her many friends in her time as a trainee. She was always a shoulder to cry on, as well as the go-to-girl for a laugh. Because of her blunt nature, she openly confessed to having a huge admiration but also a massive fangirl crush on Jay Park, and was not that embarrassed when she saw him behind her after gushing about him one time. She was realistic, and knew the age difference, but who couldn't be attracted to Jay Park?! Being confident and energetic, Miyeon found herself well suited to the life of a trainee.

RELATIONSHIP  — Although Jonghyun is in a controlling Big Three company, the pair are best friends. The two love to hang out, and Jonghyun is one of the few people that take her (charming XD) honesty in their stride. Over the last month, Jonghyun began to develop new feelings for the Korean American sweetheart. However, Miyeon had him beat. She'd had a crush on him for about a year, and the intensity of her feelings baffled even her. Despite the age difference, Jonghyun had never done anything to make her feel inferior. The only thing that worried her is that if they ever got into a scandal, she would be criticised for leeching onto a star with a five year age difference. Now, they both felt as though they were nursing an unrequited love for each other, which amused both of their bandmates.
