EU Referendum - UK Votes Leave

I'm a Welsh citizen and my country relies heavily on EU support. For whatever reason a marginal majority votes us leave. My country is about to be in an awful lot of trouble. I'm not overly certain ofmy future from here on. Once BV and Crocoldile are finished I can't be certain I'll have the free time to write any more.

I think it's really unfair that 16-17 year olds aren't allowed to vote, otherwise I think the outcome would be really different. It's true that we give a lot of money to other countries to help with immigrants etc, when in the EU, but then they also give lots of money back, like with Wales for example. To be honest, I think other than the whole immigration thing, that the majority of the votes were to leave because the older generation knew what the UK used to be like without the EU and what Britain to be Britain again. I saw on the news how people were saying 'we've got Britain back', which I found really sad because everyone knows who the UK are and everyone knows where we are. Ugh, this whole thing is just frustrating, but then I guess I'm lucky compared to you, since I live in the north east of England, I hope you find something that works for you.

It looks awfully bleak for the UK right now. And the thing is, the majority of young people voted remain; in the 18-24 yr old category, 73% voted remain, and it was the older generation who voted mainly leave. So it will be the younger people who will have to live through this, and their futures have been gambled by the older generation because of this.

My teacher who was deeply saddened of the news on exiting, had a conversation with a student who was passionate on leaving. My teacher finished her off with a simple; "Just watch." And it just hammered home many fears of the young people in the UK on the consequences of leaving. I just hope that we get good leadership at least in order for us to maintain economic stability. If not, I'm afraid to even think that future generations will be taught in history class of what was once the "United Kingdom". But it will take at least two years for us to exit the EU, during that time I hope our government think of their plan of action carefully, because Nigel farage had said that even he doesn't know what's going to happen if we exit, and he's the one who's going to lead. And that's the scary thing, we're just venturing off into the unknown. I somehow feel that the reason some people voted leave was because they think that it will stop our immigration problems. But leaving the EU isn't going to solve them. Yes, we are going to have stricter borders, and so it'll be more difficult for immigrants to enter and work in the country, but it may just mean more people crossing the UK's border illegally. And don't even get me started on what may happen to our economy. But nothing's really happened yet, so all we can do at the moment is wait and pray. I have thought many times before of moving to Canada to work after I finish university, but I've always pushed that thought aside because my future in the UK seemed to have so much more potential, but after news of the UK leaving the EU, I'm not so sure.
