PERSONALITY

honest  she has always been the type to speak whatever was at the top of her head around people and really didn't care whether or not it hurt others and whatnot. sometimes it comes off as rude but he thinks if y'all are friends, there is no need to cover it up with a little lie. just be straight up no matter what, she always wants her friends to be honest with her that's why she's honest with them even if hurts them. she hates when people have to lie to make them feel better about themselves. sugarcoating doesn't exist in her dictionary and has no filter when she speaks, it may seem upsetting at first, but many grow to appreciate her honesty.

THE ARCHITECT she's quite troublesome at times when communicating with her about plans and designs. she's quite critical and brutally truthful about she feels about things we do around here. [folds arms] but i appreciate knowing how she feels so we can work around things and create a happy day for everyone, isn't that right?

selfless   growing up, she had been given almost anything she wanted by her parents, but she didn't become selfish and snobby. if anything, she turned to cherish others for always giving her things when they didn't have too. so she always felt like others lives were more important than hers and she should give back because others deserved more than she did. . she always puts others before herself no matter, whether you guys are strangers or best friends for life. you'll usually see that she's the first to always offer a helping hand. she always wants to help others no matter how difficult the job or favor is.

IM JAEBUM — i don't get her. she's just too nice, even though she denies it, she's always helping people when some aren't willing to help her back. [runs hand through hair] she does favors and jobs with happiness and never wants anything in return... [frowns] what human does things but doesn't want anything in return?

humorous — she loves being in environments both serious and playful. she never liked places that were always too cold or too serious, but she does understand there are times for the mood to be like that and will act accordingly. but whenever she could, she'll crack a lame witty joke or two just so people can laugh a bit - so they ease up and won't stress too much. stressing isn't good for the body. even though she's known for having super lame jokes, it doesn't stop her. even if half the times people aren't laughing with her but at the fact she sounds and looks like a dying seal.

THE CHEMIST occasionally, she and i talk. but we have no other relationship with each other, other than being co-workers working on this needed job together. [yawns slightly] however, it's nice from time to time to be relieved a bit with her corny jokes. i mean, the job could get overbearing sometimes. although [sitting straight up in seat] sometimes - i don't get any of these jokes. how is a vampire favorite sport, baseball? because they're good at batting! those are the type of jokes she tell us. [rolls eyes] sometimes i feel like she's the most unprofessional one here.

short-tempered  — practically the side everyone fears of sarang. she gets mad very easily anything could tick her off really. she doesn't know how to control her anger when it comes out. she tends to lash out and argue and curse and insult people. somethings she gets angry about is because some people are inconsiderate of how she's feeling. she tries holding in her anger to get over it, but it never works out. she ends up releasing it all over the place. once she's angry, she won't talk to anyone for a whole day or few hours - depending on how bad she was angered. and if she does, you'll get a rude angered tone from her and it'll get you so frustrated

IM JAEBUM she can be a lovely person... [chuckles] i mean, when she isn't upset. i try and help her manage her temper but then she argues with me back, upset and all. so I try not to mess with her when she's upset [rubs the back of his neck] i learned that it's best to leave her alone and she'll come to you when she's "cooled down".

irrational — she's the queen of doing things without thinking. she does things without having to think of the consequences at times - not all the time. when people say, "no - don't do it," or "that could be dangerous!" in her brain it translates to, "go for it, sarang! don't let anyone stop you." her irrational behavior is even worse when she's angry, she'll spout anything out with no true meaning or definition to it or do things out of impulse and doesn't think. sometimes this behavior brings nothing but trouble for her but there are times where it goes well for her unplanned.

THE POINTMANwe clash. we clash too much, that's all I'll say. she's difficult to work with, everyone knows their position and place on the team, so does she - but she loves to go off trail at times. it's just difficult to work with her at times, 9 out of 10 times, she and I are arguing with each other about the plans and what to do. [exhales deeply]. trust me, i know at times we are to improvise for safety precautions, but not all the time. [stays silent for a second befores breathing in] i won't lie and say she isn't good because she's good at what she does, but it'd be better if she'd just think her actions through.

impatient — sarang had never appreciated anything that held her back, time wise. she always wanted to get everything done quick, clean and easy. she hated waiting around and wanted to just get things done over with. once she's done with a task, she has to move on. even if she's impatient, she doesn't do her job carelessly when she's trying to do it fast. it's the same amount of good effort just bumped up the pace.

THE ARCHITECT — brutally honest and impatient. what a mix. [laughs] i know that other people on the team disapprove of sarang's actions of being angry, yet irrational and impatient. it can do a lot of damage sometimes to the work we're doing. but her work is good. she's just the type to have things done sooner and quicker so there would be more time to finish other deeds. i say just give her some time, she'll be a good use to the team.

BACKGROUND —

P A S T |  sarang was a half chinese and half korean born in france. growing up, she had always been the black sheep of her cousins. always thought differently and matured a lot earlier than the other kids. at a young age, she discovered criminal shows and sprouted a love for it when she'd watch american criminal shows and loved how the fbi agents were passionate about their jobs and what not. her mom was  stay-home mom and was a former nurse before she gave birth to sarang and her brother. while her dad was a psychology professor. she was always the type to grow and explore things on her own, about others, the world, the government - politics, etc - hence she was always more knowledgeable then the rest of her cousins. however she had no one to talk to about it when she discovered interesting stuff about criminals or law enforcement. telling her parents of her aspiring dream one day to become a detective, her parents disapproved. wanting her to do something that might not burden her so much or even be the cause of her death one day. but everyone knew the passion she had for it, she loved the thrill of what she claimed at the age of 14, "playing hide-&-seek" with the killer. she was always proud of telling people her choice in career and it'd surprise people that someone so young would even think it was a good job. when she turned 16, she decided to study abroad in korea in which her parents let her and she lived with her grandparents while she was studying. since the age of 16, she hadn't gone back home to visit her parents once because she refused to come home until she's succeeded in the career path that she's always wanted to be in and to prove to her parents it would never have been a burden on her.

P R E S E N T |  after sarang got her master's degree in criminology and human psychology, she's been maintaining a good job for about four years as a criminal profiler at one of Seoul's top precinct. climbing her way up to be one of the top profilers, she takes great pride in her work. currently, her job schedule are as goes; mondays through thursdays, she teaches morning classes for psychology from 7:30 am to 9 am and 9:30 am to 11 am. from mondays to saturdays, she works at the station from 2 pm to 10 pm [or later depending how much cases she's been assigned]. she doesn't always have a case to profile or go to the medical examiner or meet up with the other agents everyday, but the station is practically her second home and enjoys being there. so when she doesn't have those work, she'll be at the station just typing up reports on previous cases that she put off because she procrastinates. she currently lives in a spacious one-room apartment but  is rarely home because sometimes she'll just sleep at the station. she contacts her parents from time to time just to make sure they're still alive and well.

DID YOU DREAM OF ME?

ROLE — the forger
EXPERIENCE — her experience in this field isn't as long like jaebum's. however, she had started off this operation when she was first a rookie, fresh out of the academy. jaebum often only asked for her on the job because of her enjoyment with the job which he found odd, but didn't question it. every single time he asked, it had something to do with her job. if she wanted to do move up in ranking, or higher pay or didn't want to lose her job - it involved jaebum. in a way he was the person who helped her up in rankings. but she wasn't always asked often, she still had a life outside of that and would deny at times. it'd be two or three times a year or so that she'd agree to do so. .

"wait, sir - I've been working here for a few months, wouldn't it be rather reasonable to find someone who's more experienced than me?"

her boss sighed, "you want to prove to me that you deserve to work with the rest of the profilers right? rather than sitting behind the desk and typing out reports for me every week?" she nodded cautiously. "look, he's a good friend of mine and needs help for whatever his business is currently," her boss pushed up his glasses and sighed once again before handing her file. she opened it up, "that's him, his name is im jaebum - and even if you were going to deny the job, I wouldn't have allowed that. i gave him your contact information, he should be in contact with you within the next few days."

she chewed on her lip nervously before opening , "sir, but I'd seem -"

"he asked for someone good and I got him some one good. take this job and I'll move you up." he said sternly. she really wanted to move up and be with her colleagues and test the waves and start working her true job. she nodded and thanked her boss and left his office.

within the next few days, she received a call from im jaebum. she let it ring for a bit because she had been nervous. what type of business was it? was boss involved in something against the law? is he trying to get me to capture the criminal? her phone stopped ringing. she had missed im jaebum's phone call yet again. she sighed and rested her eyes for a second before another alarming blare from her phone rang again. she gulped and answered the phone, "H-hello?"

"Is this Xiang Sarang?" a husky voice replied. she nodded, not realizing that he couldn't see. "From the quiet response, I'm assuming yes. Now that you've finally answered, let's talk now." after hearing everything, an invasion of privacy isn't it? she thought. "it's worth it if your job's on the line." he spoke as if he could read her mine. she wasn't going to let a stranger scare her into something that's against someone's privacy. did he not have respect for the person? jaebum chuckled softly through the phone and spoke words through her ears that suddenly changed her perspective. out of nowhere the things he had said before suddenly made sense to her. he was able to persuade her into agreeing with the operation. after her first operation being successful, she had grown to enjoy it quite a bit just within that small amount of time. before jaebum disappeared, there were times he'd call her for the help in the operation and she'd agreed.
"i like this better than my day job," she told them. "i'm glad it's not something full time." jaebum replied with no emotion whatsoever. after jaebum disappeared from the crowd and industry, she hadn't been in contact with him or anyone that was with her during the operation. she thought dream sharing and extraction jobs became illegal and never spoke of it. it'd be about almost two years since she had last done an operation.
SKILLS — she had always had a set goal in her head and it was to be one of the best at whatever she could do. having a masters' in human psychology and criminology really doesn't mean anything to her besides a paper that just proves her authencity. thanks to her first operation with jaebum, she was able to move up and work with others that were similar to her and prove that she was worth the job. only difference from her and other profilers was that she was able to conform into the criminal when she was out in the field. meaning, in a way - she could think like the criminal or whomever and sort out the possibilities of actions that they do.

she'd hang out with the medical examiners often and examine the bodies in the morgue, the way they were ruined and etc, a way to get to know the dead and what type of killer it was. because of her 'method' of discovering criminals, she was the youngest yet smartest on the team of agents whenever they were out on the job.

whenever she 'becomes' the murderer, she'd use her colleagues alongside her as the victim so she could act it out and get a better understanding of the criminals. at times people fear it because it was as if she was the criminal herself and it was too unreal and believable. books and classes may have helped her understand the basic knowledge of how things work around her but she feels theres more than what the book says unless she experiences it herself.

as of now, sarang is creating different live methods to catch the john doe. in class, which her students absolutely love, when she has a new case, she uses her students as how she uses her colleagues to become victims so she could be the 'murderer'. after her school hours, she'll interview current criminals in jail on their perspective, their side of the story. why they did the things they did. her knowing multiple languages like mandarin, korean and french has helped her quite a bit in her job. whether it'd be clues or codes or translations - with her talent in languages, it helps her get even closer to knowing who her john doe is. as of so far, sarang has been able to develop a tendency become a copycat, similar to anyone around her. she jokes and claims she's a "quick-learner", but really, with a few looks of the person or just a few days around the same person or routine - she can easily become it.
CAUTION —  during an experimental live method she was doing again, while she was working on a case, she had felt as if she was being watched. she was quite distracted and unfocused unlike how she usually was. she felt a terrible wave of exhaustion draft over her. there was the day where she was grabbed by a murder at court. he was angered, "mark my words, xiang sarang - whether i'm dead or alive, when i'm out, i will find you and kill you with my bear hands." she had never been threatened like that no matter how many criminals she chased around and caught, it was the first time she was threatened. her colleagues told her to shrug it off, that it was nothing but a mere lunatic speaking. she had shrugged it off but few months later, she had found out that the murderer named, Gyumin, had died. she was relieved. she hadn't have to worry about her life being in danger soon.

one night when she was home, she had gotten a nightmare. and she often got it, but it was nightmares of her basic fears: heights, spiders, etc. but this time it was the nightmare of Gyumin. the last cold glare he gave to her before being given away and in that dream she was murdered by him. just as he wished. "i'm sorry, students." she shook her head and blinked. "class is ending early today, the test is postponed until thursday. i don't feel well." she mumbled as she sat down. her class groaned, upset because they loved being part of her experiments. she had never believed in things like ghosts haunting around, but she felt cold and scared. whenever someone brought up that old case, mention his name or looks a bit like him (which she occasionally feels like she sees) or anything related to him. she freezes up and panics and goes paranoid, "no, no why is he still around? he can't -  he has to be gone, killed!" she'll freak out and be scared about her surroundings at times and becomes unaware how she's acting, she'd forget that she was in the real world and panic and cry in fear.

her impatient behavior could be a threat to the team sometimes, messing up the plan especially. there's nothing that she could hide, since most things she says openly anyways. however, she doesn't mind going into the dreamscape, but she fears going in and manipulating into something or being distracted that she has no control of with a possibility of revealing the team's secrets. only once when she was in the dreamscape, had she been distracted and imitated into something that was a secret from someone on the team. after that incident, she had commonly as the chemist for a syrum to relieve her mind before going into dreamscape, so that she doesn't get distracted of anything.  she doesn't wish to be the dreamer, however.
TOTEM — sarang's totem is her silver ring on her right ring finger, engraved with a lotus flower. in reality, the band around her ring finger is quite light and tight. so it's often difficult for her to take off unless she's using lotion to slide it off. however, when she's in a dream, it gets heavier, her ring is easily taken off with just one slide but her ring finger suddenly feels about constricted to move up and down quickly like she would if she was in reality. but the band will also turn to a dark-ish grey as well, rather than staying a shiny silver. the engraving of the lotus flower on her ring changes, the two petals on the side are detached from the flower.

I CAN'T REMEMBER.
