jaeyeon is currently standing at approximately 168cm with 48kg weight. she always worked out all day to get the body she have always wanted when she was a trainee and it was paid off the moments before she debuted. that said, her body might be your goal. unlike her chic older brother who has many spots on his ears for earrings, jaeyeon only has two – one on left ear and one another on right ear just like everyone else. her hair was jet black, but now dyed to light chocolate brown.

transferred here and there, i'm not some money at your bank account

her life as a trainee wasn't all plain and flat – spending one year in jyp only to get transferred to bighit where she was supposed to be the line-up for glam. she felt annoyed when she was told that she wasn't going to make it to glam, that was until glam got disbanded due to the members' scandals and controversies. knowing that bighit will probably never create a spotlight for the female trainees after the incident, she left the company and joined starship one month later to seriously pursue her dreams to be an idol. it's safe to say that jaeyeon liked it in her new company despite spending four years and five months to wait until she finally debuted. she always spent her trainee days with training and training because she wanted the best for her career and followed the steps of her brother who debuted with got7 and became successful eventually. she was first close to son hyunwoo because he used to be in jyp too and is great friends with her brother, so she was thankful to him for approaching her and accompany her. both become best friends and more, including his thoughts, shall be included in the love interest list.

jaeyeon was born an outspoken girl – she is the girl who knows exactly how to state out her opinions about what she thinks is right and wrong and respects honesty because she believes that it's good to be honest and bad to be dishonest (duh, jaeyeon, everybody knows?). she hates when people lied to her because it simply means violating the trust she has given to you and will go straightforward to tell you about how annoyed she is after you lied to her face. thus making her a feisty child who is determined and fearless especially toward those that she's already very close to (i.e, trainees, friends). aside the outspoken and fearless traits, she is also known to be a perfectionist woman who always want everything to turn out well and suits her expectations. she wants the perfect career, relationship, future; she wants perfect everything to sum it up. therefore, due to her perfectionist side, she'll often wonder what kind of perfect life will she have and often visions it. she is able to think outside the box and share her ideas with you (i.e, new dance choreos), she also ranked first numerous times on school projects because she was able to envision her ideas regarding to the project very well.

on the negative side, jaeyeon is sassy due to her feisty and outspoken traits. she can talk frankly about how uninteresting your idea is with an add of her additional sass where she'll center around herself and the achievements she've done or just simply talk about herself. "please, i'm better at that if you challenge me" "don't you dare ruining my pretty face" "now tell me what is the better idea? your first idea even already, eonnie", you'll hear them very often as soon as you become her friend. that's why, she's blunt to anyone without looking at their age or status. it is what she is and she lives respecting honesty – she calls her bluntness as honesty for whatever reason – and that said, she can never lie. her thoughtless side often damages herself because she's so impulsive. she doesn't think before she acts, and only thinks after she've done the act. since she is a perfectionist, she becomes selective too especially when it comes to the good for herself: clothes, friends, boyfriend, foods. this explains why she sometime doesn't seem to be too close with a certain friend.

i. have you seen my childhood?

in the city of goyang in gyeonggido, south korea, im jaeyeon was born five days before christmas and was considered a gift for the family from god. she was born normal and healthy which gave relief to the family because they were anxious of any possibilities that can happen. she grew up in a family of four with her older brother im jaebum who spent most of them time with her because they only have one another. both grew up sharing the same interest: music. so when they grew up into teens, they often sing together to improve their skill, adoring the same idols together, join music club together and attend singing contests together only to win together. at the age of sixteen, she uploaded a video of herself singing on youtube and became a 'hit'. many have suggested her to become a singer and i guess she took it to her heart because she really did sign up for jyp entertainment later on with her brother. but well, while her brother got picked for upcoming boygroup, she was transferred to bighit to be glam's line-up in late 2011. she felt sad to separate with him but felt glad that she's also going to debut, until she was informed that she's not going to be in the girlgroup. she stayed still in bighit only to hear glam was disbanded due to scandalous members.

 

ii. before you judge me, try hard to love me

knowing that bighit might not give the female trainees a spotlight anymore, she left the company and went to starship entertainment. she talked to her family about her journey since her first day in jyp until the day she got chosen for the potential line-up for starship's new girlgroup. jaebum sincerely felt sorry that she used to be transferred only to stay as a trainee in a new environment of bighit entertainment, but he really encouraged her when she joined starship entertainment. her family and most importantly herself, hoped that she will make it this time, because she will leave the entertainment world for good if this time she gets into complications again.

just because they have the same surnames, they became close. no. it all started when jaeyeon was walking pass by and changkyun happened to hold a large cup of iced coffee, they bumped and the iced coffee fell to the ground right when the ceo was watching from afar. jaeyeon was a little sassy and changkyun's mood wasn't good, they bickered over it resulting to the ceo telling them to wipe the floor together. they started off not so good, but after the punishment given by the ceo, the two began to make friends and vowed to forget that scene ever happened. they are seen hanging out often as of now and bickers playfully like brother and sister.

kim jiyeon or let's call her by her stage name, bona, is jaeyeon's fellow trainee friend. jaeyeon felt really happy for her when she heard bona is debuting with wjsn – and promised bona that she'll debut too. frankly speaking, jaeyeon is very jealous of bona's beauty and said it to her face because she didn't want miscommunication to happen between them and become enemies. aside of that, jaeyeon is very comfortable being friends with bona and enjoys the laughter she brings into their friendship. bona is the second person to ship her and shownu after jaebum because she thinks the lovebirds are very cute together.

hyunwoo is a dedicated man who puts all his heart and dedication into his work. he is a bit awkward and quiet when you first meet him, but once you give a little push, he will be open to just about anything and will know how to have fun with you. to sum it up, the word chill might describe his personality best. he knows exactly how to balance things and knows how to lead people that's why he is a leader. despite people might say that he looks scary on the outside, he is actually very gentle and a papa bear in the inside who wants to have fun too with the people that he cares about.

yeonu, your relationship goal

i. when news about new trainee in starship spread rapidly amongst trainees, hyunwoo was at the practice room. he was doing practices like there was no tomorrow. it wasn't his fellow trainee, it wasn't the staff, but it was his friend who informed him about im jaeyeon and he happened to be her older brother. hyunwoo received a message telling him to take care of the young lady because she's got no one but him because they used to hang out together while they were still in jyp. he stopped his practice just to check on her on her first day. he greeted her when not many people were around anymore and both started talking about her journey since jyp until that day before shownu told his own story.  hyunwoo was a little shy but he slowly opened upon having many topics to talk about with her. later that night, hyunwoo decided to walk her to her dorm before going to his own dorm and took some rest.

 

ii. the next morning, hyunwoo woke up earlier than his dormmates and found a folded paper at the doorstep. he took it in his hand and opened the fold slowly only to be greeted with a cute message that apparently sent by jaeyeon, "thanks for walking me home last night, oppa! see you at the building and please tell me how to thank you. - jaeyeon", which made him smile widely while walking back into the dorm. when he was arrived at the building and met her, she waved at him and approached him to initiate a conversation. hyunwoo initially rejected when she asked about how to thank him for keeping her safe on the way to home the night before, but as soon as she forced him, he answered with "treat me lunch". to her, it wasn't a bad idea so she really treated him during lunchtime and spent some more hours together only to get to know one another. later that night, he walked her home again.

 

iii. a few weeks and months later after that day, their relationship has grown further. the urge inside of him to keep her safe wasn't only for the sake of jaebum, but somehow for himself too. he often became worried about her and wondered if she have eaten. sometimes he would abruptly pauses his practice just to look after her and talk with her. there were occasions where hyunwoo came across her dancing in the practice room he often used and it often end up with him teaching and helping her with some moves – skinship between them couldn't be held back. butterflies don't only fly in her stomach, but in his too no matter how girly it sounded. since the occasions between two of them, he became protective of her and would often offer his jacket when it was cold on the way to her dorm – it's safe to say that he also became braver to hold her hand while walking somewhere or walking across the street for the reason to protect her.

 

iv. he realized; he likes, no, he loves her. it became more obvious when he watched her as she interacted with another male trainee, the urgent jealousy inside of him was triggered. he would always ask what was she talking about with them after the male trainee she was talking to had left to make sure nothing's touchy between them. he wanted to be with her. he wanted to confess but he wasn't really sure how to do so plus he didn't know if she feels the same way. meanwhile jaeyeon was gloomy and wondered if something could ever happen between the two that she cried thinking about it because she didn't want her traumatic past with a man to happen again. he was there when she cried; under the night sky, in silence. she couldn't hold her tears anymore that she started crying for whatever reason. perhaps she was on period that time so her emotions were hightened, but he offered her his hug so she could cry in his arms as he carressed her hair without knowing exactly why was she crying.

 

v. hyunwoo never left her side since that night. even if he had to, he would always tell her and stay in touch with her. seeing her crying had become his weakness. he kept wondering why was she crying, if it was because of him, he would like to know why. after thinking over and over, he finally decided. he didn't tell her this, but he vowed to himself that he'll confess to her once she debuted. he had told jaebum, his groupmates and bona about this to gain support and helps from them because of his anxiety about her feelings for him. until then, he acted as normal as he can and always try to stick with her: walking her home, paying the bills when they had lunch or dinner, going out together, holding her stuff and picking her up to practice. there were so many things he've done for her, it's only a matter of time until they're officially a thing.
