"cause baby, i could build a castle-" much like the human equivalent of the sun, song seona has a very dazzling personality. no matter how often you cross paths with this girl, you can always find a bright smile adorning her lovely face.

from the minute you enter the cafe her boisterious voice will be one of the first things to greet you as she'll happily skip to assist any waiting customers.

the management never seems to have any problems with her as well seeing as how her strange and hyperactive working methods always seem to boost her productivity, thus being beneficial to the cafe. and despite how much she may have on her plate, she's always willing to offer her assistance to everyone in the cafe if she sees they they could use an extra set of hands.

seona's the type that just loves seeing smiles surrounding her and will do anything in her power to make such a scenario a reality. people find her very difficult to hate with her positive personality, which would probably explain why, despite the fact that she's one of the boys at at school, none of the girls can seem to truly hate her.

but if only they knew the inner workings of her mind...

but maybe it's just due to the fact that she just wants to be accepted and loved by many, so she likes to think the best of people. with parents that only dote and praise on her "oh- so perfect" big sister she then turns to seeking attention from her peers. although she seems to get vast attention from those around her, the mention of her sister is enough to sour her mood.

don't be fooled by the kind smile that stays in place when you mention song jinah to her- she's silently sulking inside as her parents chiding voices fill her mind. she just can't comprehend why no matter how much she tries, her effort is never enough. it just always has to be about song jinah.

but in the end, she figured it'd be easier to grin and bear the pain, than sulking and locking herself away resulting in being even more alone than she really feels.

BACKGROUND:

"we're so young, but we're on the road to ruin." born on may 26, 1998 in the land down under, was the second daughter and youngest of song minhyuk & song jiae. in all honesty her parents had hoped for a boy, but were still happy to have another child nonetheless. minhyuk and jiae were marketing consultants that moved to australia due to the better job options, they're more under the top tier of the middle class- but still managed to give their two daughters everything.

when seona turned 13 her parents declared that they were going to move back to korea since they had finally saved up enough to start up their own marketing firm- for the first time in forever, she begged her parents to let her stay in the dorms of the school she and her sister had attended and give her one final year in australia as she wasn't ready to leave her life and friends back there yet-- not to mention it would be a year without seeing her irritatingly perfect sister and hearing her parents compare every little thing she did to her sister.

like don't even get her started on that one-sided rivalry; she scores 100 on her english test? her parents bring up the time her sister got a perfect score and extra points for pointing out a mistake in the exam to her teacher. she gets into the cheerleading team? her parents scold her and remind her of how her sister joined the debate club when she was her age and how that club was so much more beneficial to her future. she makes her parents cakes for their birthdays? her sister has a whole freaking feast cooked up for them in the evening. but being a smart child, she knew sulking and whining would get her nowhere-- instead she chose to grin and bear it, just working harder hoping her parents would finally be proud of her efforts one day.

"we play dumb, but we know exactly what we're doing." when seona moved to korea after that "break year" of hers, she transfered to the school her childhood best friend attended. although they kept in touch, she was surpised at jimin's popularity and was even greeted with hateful glares and whispers of his fangirls- but after rumors spread of her "hot aussie boyfriend back home" (courtesy of hobi, taehyung, and even jungkook) the malice towards her died down and every girl wanted to befriend the "litte sister" of the boys.

she actually does well in school despite her hyperactive personality, not that her parents ever praised her for it. and she can be found helping out those that need help in their academics- just don't ask for her help in math cause she will probably have a mental breakdown trying to explain concepts she barely understands herself.

"honey, life is just a classroom." as the year slowly came to an end, her playboy best friend suddenly told her to check her email as he had hoseok reccomend her to a summer job they were all taking. he casually hinted at how it would give her something to do all summer and knowing the inner geek in his friend also mentioned how colleges in korea looked kindly upon applicants who have had some work expirience.

first her parents were livid when they found out their daughter had applied to work as a waitress in some cafe, but after their prized trophy daughter chimed in saying how it was a good idea seona do something productive over the summer and get a little extra pocket money, in attempt to help her little sister out- they begrudgingly agreed to her summer plans. And thus our story truly begins.....

☮ math is the one subject seona really struggles in, she doesn't exactly fail or get super low grades, but it ruins her gpa which is obviously correlated with her chances of getting her parents praise so....

☮ seona's really into dressing up and cosplaying her favourite comic book & occasionally anime characters and often attened conventions back in australia.

☮ when seona gets flustered, frustrated, or caught off guard- she subconsciously switches back to english, only realizing after she gets blank stares from those around her.

☮  she can't sing for crap, but she likes dancing- and not the crazy body shaking dance she often does with hoseok, but actual dancing. when her parents found out she wanted to get into that as a career when she was a child- they were extremely disappointed in her and went into a rant about how she should be more like her older sister who had "real plans" for her future.

☮  she's surprisingly good at carpentry and diy projects, basically fixing broken things and making use of seemingly useless things.

☮  seona's lowkey ocd, she absolutely hates seeing messy surroundings and when taehyung takes too long to clean up tables or when namjoon breaks something in the cafe- she makes it her job to clean up immediately after the messier members of the cafe.

☮  seona, unlike most girls actually finds insects interesting and can be found shrieking at other staff when they attempt to kill bugs.

☮  can easily be bribed with sugary snacks; like cake and candy.

☮  since seona's already a somewhat hyper sort of person, caffine just has this effect on her that renders her unable to sleep at for 24 hours.

☮  not growing up in korea, she never really became accustomed to spicy food and gets terrible stomach aches when the food is way too spicy for her.

☮  male customers often ask her to serve them their orders in their english names cause they enjoy hearing her cute aussie accent.

☮  challenges the boys, and even some of the girls, to video game challenges in the staff room, to help everyone unwind after long days and to hopefully get closer to all the other members.

+ The bane of seona's exsistence and the reason for the development of her inferiority complex. given, her sister's extremely kind, caring, and intellegent- basically the perfect wife in certain aspects if she wasn't such a workaholic, always being compared to her not only by her parents but all relatives alike and even schoolmates sort of brought out a darker side to the bright sunshine everyone seems to know. she may harbor a polite smile around this older girl, but don't be mistaken as deep inside she knows how much she despises her sister for being the reason she's always under so much critque.

Tl;dr - she plays nice with her sister, but isn't very fond of her for personal reasons. her sister may try to reach out, but they aren't very close due to the resentment seona silently hold for her, with a smile of course. (2/10)

lee hayun. "Hayunie my love" (17)

"Ah, Hayunie? well she's a fluffy sweetheart. she was so quiet around me at first, but i think i managed to sneak into her heart with my adorable charms! awww, hayunieee- don't look at me like that! c'mere!"

+ you know the saying opposites attract? well that's the best way to describe hayun and seona's friendship. seona was taken back at first when the girl politely bowed then ran off when they were first introduced- she originally thought hayun just didn't like her, but after talking to the other members, she found out about hayun's tendancy to be somewhat shy and intoverted, so she made less of a harassment sort of effort and opted to just do little things for the girl like help her tidy up the kitchen after hour, organize her things to make them easier to find when she's baking and leaving snack for the girl. eventually the Hayun became more comfortable around seona, which then brought out the clinginess in seona again. she finds hayun and Tae to be completely adorable and often plots ways to get the two to spend more time together.

TL;DR - Although they didn't become best friends at first sight, seona managed to creep into hayun's heart somehow and seona knows she absolutely adores the adorable baker, and often plays cupid for the girl. (8/10)

kim seokjin. "Princess jin" (19)

"jin oppa's handsome, no doubt. but it's just funny to see the change in his expression when i call him a pretty pretty princess."
+ due to his kind nature, seokjin often finds himself at the suffering at the hands of one of his loudest "children" and her pranks. it's a mystery as to why he hasn't gone crazy from seona and hoseoks pranks yet. seona loves teasing him and often calls him "pretty princess" to his dismay after catching the male eyeing himself in a mirror one day. although she adds onto his stress at times, he often looks out for her and is the one who has to remind her to take her breaks throughout the day.

TL;DR - more like a big brother than a mother to her, seona takes pleasure in the amused yet exasperated look seokjin often gives her. but he still looks out for this little troublemaker like one of his many little ducklings. (7/10)

min yoongi. "bossman #2" (19)

Manager / dj oppa

"honestly? yoongi oppa's a little scary at first. but i mean, i feel like once you butter him up and just stay on his good side, you're in the clear!"

+ the first time they met, ahri gave the male one of her brightest smiles knowing that he was one of the deciding factors that had chosen to hire her. instead he gave her a curt nod and walked away. it took her a while to get familiar with yoongi, and seeing him yell at the other boys, mainly namjoon for breaking things in the cafe-- it'd be a lie if seona didn't say he scared her a little. and his judgemental stares often reminded her of the looks she often gets from her parents and relatives. but whenever she does an exceptionally good job, he'll pat the top of her head and mumble "good job" (yes, even though they're exactly the same height). which she'll find out was all thanks to hobi telling the older male to go a little easier on the girls. She often praises his music choices which gets her a grin before he walks off to make sure to add more music to his playlist. she knows he's a lot more playful towards people he's close with and hopes that over the summer she'll get to know the cold bossman more.

TL;DR - they're not super close but just like the other older members he looks out for seona just like he does for any staff members, quietly. he likes the fact that she appreciates his music choices and makes an effort not to seem as scary to the staff members he's not as close to after hoseok told him to lighten up. (4/10)

Jung Hoseok. "Hobi Hobi Oppa" (18)

Barista / Sunshine sunbae

"my brother sun!! everyone says i'm him, except i was put in a female body! Hobi hobi oppa's really sweet, and you'll get abs from hanging out with him! he's full of really silly jokes!"
+the outer personality twin of seona, and the sunbae that often looks out for her in school. seona met him through jimin and these two became fast friends. from scheming pranks together to planing events for all their friends, just for no reason. seona genuinely enjoys being around someone as bright and playful as her. when she's with hobi, her overly cheerful and playful personality seems less like a mask and more like she's vibing with a friend that really knows how to brighten someone's day up. as loud and crazy as this boy is, he's actually very perceptive and notices the glances the staff members give each other, including the shy looks seona gives namjoon.

TL;DR - more like a twin than a sunbae, hobi is the brother she's always wished she had. he always looks out for her at school and the cafe, playfully fending off her fanboys by clinging onto her when they attempt flirting with her. he's one of the first people that notices seona's feelings for the god of destruction. (9/10)

KIM TAEHYUNG. "TAE-lien" (18)

"Hmm...tae, how do i describe him? sometimes it's like he's from another world...but if you really listen to what he says, you'll be surprised at how interesting it is!"
+ seona is pretty normal, but when she hangs out with kim taehyung it's like she speaks his alien language. you can hear them talking about the weirdest things from, plants having feelings to rabbits on the moon. she met him through jimin, when on her first day of school back in korea she was a little nervous seeing as how her childhood friend wasn't in the same class as her- which led jimin to introducing her to his 4D buddy kim taehyun. since then she's been stuck to their group, with tae being her tutor in every weird "korean tradition". which she blindly follows of course, cause her "tae-lien would never lie" to her.

TL;DR - her class and seatmate for the past four years she's been in korea, seona's very close with this weirdo although he may teach her strange things. they're the same age but he watches over her like an older brother- where as she likes to play matchmaker with him, after she finally found a girl she deemed perfect for her alien chingu. coughs*babyhayunie*coughs. (9/10)

PARK JIMIN. "CHIMCHIM" (18)

"Oh, gosh...where to start? jimin's been my best friend since we were kids. our families are close too! he's kind of like a brother to me, he knows me inside and out."
+if hoseok is her idea brother, this boy is like her real life brother. their parents were extremely close friends from back in the day, and every year they used to visit korea back when they still lived in australia- Park jimin, was the playmate her parents stuck her with. growing up together, the two went from besties in diapers, to toddlers yanking on each others hair, to kids thinking each other had the cooties, to teens whining about their pitiful lives to each other- jimin is the only person in seona's life that has witnessed what the poor girl had to go through. he often covers for her whenever people ask her about her hotshot sister, butting in talking about how much of an eyecandy jinah is. due to how close they were people had often thought seona and jimin had a thing with one another, especially since seona replies to his cheesy lines with as equally cheesy retorts- but if you look more carefully, seona's more like a wingman(wingwoman?) to jimin, she doesn't condone his flirtatous ways, but knowing that he's really similar to her in his need for attention- she occasionally helps her childhood best friend out in his quest to flirt around with the "hot girls" that choose to visit the cafe. many girls at school often try to befriend her knowing that she can easily get them closer to jimin if she chooses. but she has yet to find a girl she truely wishes her best friend to be with. and despite the past rumors and his history with her, he really can't see her as anything more than a sister cause of everything they've been through- i mean the fact that she knows the specific age he stopped using diapers is creepy enough.

TL;DR - the closest thing seona has to a brother, park jimin is her best friend after their parents forced the two to spend endless hours together as children. he's the only one out of the staff that knows her troubles at home and is also the reason she decided to apply to work for the cafe. she's basically like his sister, occasional wingman, and childhood best friend. "jeon jungkook, it's hard to explain- and even if it was easier i probably wouldn't. but he just reminds me of myself in some ways. i really find it beautiful and sad how he works so hard just to prove himself. I'm definitely cheering him on."

+ seona's not extremely close with the male maknae, but after hearing his story cause of his hyungs teasing him all the time, seona makes an effort to make him feel like she sees him just like she sees his hyungs and not like a child like how everyone seems to treat the poor maknae. she can sympathize with him feeling like everyone looks down on him and since she personally knows how it feels to be underestimated depite you doing you best, she always tries to encourage him and even backs him up whenever his hyungs try to bully him.

TL;DR - SHE's much like a supportive big sister to him, but seona makes a show of making him feel like he's everyone's equal. they're not super close, but they're fairly comfortable around each other since they have the same set of friends and maybe outside of school they can become even closer friends. PERSONALITY:

from his chic looks to y charismatic voice, all the way to his obvious intellegent aura- you would never guess that kim namjoon is pretty much the definition of the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover." he's practically the god of destruction with his uncanny monster-like strength, and even crowned with the title of the other half of the #ManagerSquad, but under all that macho bravado he's nothing more than a sweet jittery child at heart. what everyone seems to love about this tall monster is that although he knows when he needs to take charge and responsibility, he still prefers to maintain a relaxed and comfortable relationship with all of the staff members.

his fashion sense may go one way or another, but his loyalty to his friends and co-workers will always remain unchanging.
possibly the only other staff member yoongi will consider allowing control over the cafe's music playlist. (keywords; consider allowing)

he's a real gentleman towards the girls, although one of the members (maybe jimin or hoseok) will out him to be a major ert, having the largest collection of out of all the boys. whoops!

tl;dr - although he may give off a mature and responsible aura, he's still young and loves enjoying his youth much like any of the other staff members. he has his strange and childish quirks more often than naught, but that's exactly what makes kim namjoon, kim namjoon.

LOVE STORY:

although they hadn't formally met yet, seona had heard so many stories about this infamous, kim namjoon that her friends constantly raved about. but she hadn't met him till her first night at work. why night, you may ask? namjoon was sick that day, but had been called in by yoongi due to an important issue regarding papers only they and they owner had access to. while everyone else had already left for home, seona had stayed behind seeing as how taehyung had begged her to take over his cleaning shift for the night cause of some family emergency he needed to take care of.

of course unable to say no- seona stayed behind tidying up the cafe, and organizing everything to be ready for when they opened up again the next day. as she was cleaning up, yoongi approached her and let her know he was going out really quick to the grocery store a block away to buy materials they were low on before the grocery could close.

assuming he really wouldn't take too long seona agreed to watch over things till he came back, he hurriedly informed her that the other manager would be coming by in a bit and if he arrived before yoongi could get back, to just inform him of yoongi's whereabouts and to have him wait.

seeing as how the older male really seemed stressed and like he was in a rush, seona told him not to worry and go on ahead. after he left, she locked the door and went on ahead to continuing cleaning up around the place- not noticing the unusal shape of the clouds outside.

after the main area was all clean seona moved onto the kitchen to organize the haphazardly placed cooking utensils and any ingredients still laying out, not hearing the door unlock as a tall male joined her in the building due to the music she had playing from the speaker of her phone.

namjoon was dressed how he felt that day, extremely sloppy- in all black baggy sweats with a black beanie and a face mask he made his way to where he heard music playing. he walked into the kitchen to see an unfamiliar face dancing around doing a pretty good job at organizing the usually cluttered room.

as not to completely scare the girl, he slowly cleared his throat, sounding octaves lower than usual due to the fever he was sporting. the unexpected noise he made had the complete opposite effect and terrified the long limbed girl.

noticing his unusual garb, seona panicked and grabbed the closest thing to her as a weapon which in this case was a wooden stirring spoon.

"ah- wait..." as he clumsily moved forward in attempt to calm the girl- she shrieked and swung the stirring spoon as hard as she could resulting in a loud 'snap'.

the taller male groaned, pulling off his beanie to reveal his bleached blonde(a/n; or whichever colour you decide to go with!) hair, rubbing where the terrified girl had attacked him- and only then sparking a memory in seona's mind as yoongi's voice resonated again, "namjoon's this tall blonde oaf- anyone else that tries to enter is probably a robber."

"o-oh my god. kim namjoon?! i'm so so so sorry! wait- uhm mianhaeyo! cheongmal! are you okay, oh god...."
instead of being angrily shouted at like she expected the male chucked- shaking his head, "you've got one hell of a swing, what's your name?"

with a bowed head and extemely worried expression seona then went on to introduce herself quickly standing up and running to grab a towel and some ice to place on the slowing forming bruise on namjoon's forehead. as she helped him to a chair in the main area of the cafe she couldn't help but continuously apologize for her earlier actions whereas he just kept reminding her that he was really okay.

seona timidly went back to work after namjoon firmly reassured her that he was really okay, he was just a little weaker than usual due to being sick.
but when she thought the night couldn't get any worse- that's when a flash of light and a ominous booming sound proved her wrong. she flinched and let out a small squeak, before hurrying to take out her phone to dial her parents.

as her mom picked up the phone she quietly whimpered in fear, hoping that the male she had earlier attacked wouldn't hear her in such a state, "m-mom, can you please pick me up?? the rain just started pouring and the thunderstorm is getting really bad..."

but of course jinah just had to ruin everything somehow- "i thought we agreed that if you were going to take this job you wanted so badly you would learn to take the train and buses in the area. you have an umbrella you'll be fine. not to mention your sister's university is further away and i'm certain it's raining harder there- just wait for the rain to ease up or get a ride with a friend. i have to go now- your sister is waiting for me."

"but mom-" and the line suddenly went dead. seona groaned lightly banging her head against the wall before a voice spoke up behind her- "if you don't mind waiting for a bit while i talk to yoongi first i can drop you off?"

seona spun around to find namjoon standing at the doorway with a sheepish grin as he quickly added in an excuse, "i didn't mean to listen in, i just wanted to make sure you weren't beating yourself up over what happened earlier...and well, i just kinda overheard the end of your conversation. i borrowed my dad's car anyways so it'd be a lot easier than trying to wait for a bus at the next block."

seona quickly shook her head, spouting nonsense about not wanting to burden him- alas another loud crash of thunder caught her off guard making her flinch before timidly muttering, "....are you sure it's okay?"

namjoon couldn't help but stare at the girl that radiated an aura that just made him want to protect her, and as he realized he was staring, he quickly nodded and gave her his signature grin with his adorable dimples and all. he then proceeded to walk over to her placing the headphones he had decorated around his neck, muttering "it's a lot less scary when you can't hear anything." and played the first song on his playlist. his handsome smile forever imprinted in seona's mind.

and that was the night when song seona fell for kim namjoon.

after that they became pretty close- namjoon always making an extra effort to watch over seona durring their working hours, and seona realizing namjoon was the first person aside from jimin to actually get a hint of how her family treated her.

he can be rather protective often getting childishly irritated over the male customers that flirt with seona- but easily sated as she flashes him her usual bright smile.

and since they're both intellectuals (aside from seona's kryptonite aka math) they often get into deep topics, about things varying from political views to musical opinions, but nothing as strange as the topics seona gets into with taehyung. and for fun since namjoon seems to be such a big fan of it and even self taught himself to speak in english- they occasionally have full on conversations in english, much to the confusion of the other members around them.

STATUS: they're both currently single- but eventually everyone sort of figures out these two have feelings for each other. c:

ENDING: maybe one day namjoon gets fed up with seona being like a second jimin in terms of the admirers that she attracts to the cafe and confesses to her in front of everyone? #ManlyNam

or or or when seona completely opens up to namjoon about her insecurities and he tells her he thinks she's completely fine the way she is- she decides to fully open up about everything and admits she thinks she's really developing feelings for him. #ManlySeon (JKJKJK)

but yeah, i'd really find it cute if they ended up dating, but if you think their love story should go another way you have complete control over how you want things to go!
