PERSONALITY TRAITS :

PERSONALITY :　First off, Truly was raised by a very, very, very (very, very, very!) strict mother. One who never tolerated back-talking, stepping out of line, getting in trouble, and being disrespectful. At a very young age, she was taught to be respectful. And respectful is what she is. If she finds an elderly man/woman needing help, she'll be the first one there. If there's a dog running through traffic, she'll be the one to catch it and bring it to safety. If a child is hurt at the playground and kind find their mother, she'll be the one to find their mother for them. Some perceive her as meek because of this, coming off as weak because she has a submissive aura. But, that is nowhere near true. Neither her mother, nor father, would tolerate a weak child. And Truly isn't weak. She's just responsible and knows how to respect others, even if they don't deserve it. For those who are disbelieving of her strength, Truly happens to be very understanding of them. She won't jump into a fight just because someone has a distorted picture about her. She knows how to hold her tongue; she knows quite well. All through her schooling, she was the one that had to keep shut when other kids were accusing her father of being a bad man because he happened to be a leader of a local triad. When they talked down to her, and called her the scum of the earth; she bit her tongue, smiled, and said thank you. Her mother always taught her that in these types of situations, it's better to be level-headed, than to jump someone's . With this outlook, entering the music industry wasn't as hard as it was for others. When coaches, and teachers were looking down upon her; it didn't affect her, and it didn't make her cry. She knows better than to cry. And she knows better than to take what they say to heart. She's smart, in that sense; intuitive even. She has an extraordinary talent of having insight of others; just by what they do, what they wear, and how they act. She can discern between people just being friends, family, or something more. She knows when to say something, and when not to. She knows how people feel around her. She's not ignorant. She's very observant to her surroundings, and the persons involved with them.

This is not to say that she doesn't have her down sides; because, she does. Besides being raised by a stern mother (who's also loving) she was raised by her father, who happens to be the leader of a triad (as referenced above). At some points in her life, she had stepped upon instances where her father was beating a man to hell, and she's been in the same room where her father is throwing one of his many anger fits. She's happen to take his anger, and twist it into something more than that. Her tolerance, and respectfulness can only go so far; before she turns into a bitter mess. Calling her scum is one thing; but going after her family is another. Those kids who dared to mutter her mother, or father's name; got their asses kicked. She would grab the girls hair, flinging them across the room, kicking the other guys in the chest; having them fly into the nearest wall. She became vicious. Attacking her family, literally anything or anyone she cares about: you'll likely meet this part of her. The one that becomes unsympathetic when you beg for her to stop punching you, after you insulted her mother by called her a . The one that threw a water bottle clear at her teacher's forehead after he dared to disrespect her grandmother. She becomes catastrophic; like an earthquake rumbling through an unknowing city. She may look innocent, and her aura may seem submissive; but, this girl, she'll tear you to pieces and spit you right out again if you dare to mess with her people. If you want to quarrel with her, go ahead, she'll spit rapid fire of insults directly out you with no care in the world. She won't even stop if you get down on your hands and knees and beg. She'll just laugh. You messed with her first. You started the fight, so she'll finish it. That's who Truly is. If you mess with her, she becomes an antagonist. No longer the good girl she's perceived as. The only way to deal with her, is to watch out when she becomes uneasy. When her eyes widen, and she begins to snap at everyone in a five-mile radius. It's a sign that she's becoming annoyed, frustrated, and angry. Needless to say, Truly may seem innocent and meek; but, she's really not.

RELATIONSHIPS :

▸ FATHER — LIN TAIYU (46) — LEADER OF THE LIN TRIAD — SOFT & GREEDY — FIVE/FIVE
Taiyu is considered a ruthless triad (gang) leader in Truly's hometown. Meaning, because of him, she was feared a lot through her younger years. But, her father happens to be a big, huge, giant...softy. Only for his family that is. And especially for his only daughter whom he spoils rotten. He grew up thinking that he'd never have a child, seeing as his father was also a gang leader and Taiyu was a spur of the moment accident, so when Truly popped into his life: he grew incredibly loving and caring. He'll do anything for his daughter...ANYTHING. Though, there have been instances where Taiyu has failed as a father (many instances actually). And a reason for that may be his overwhelming greed, always having to beat up a guy ten times over to catch that last bit of information that'll lead him to his money. In cause, he missed all of his daughter mile-stone steps, and separated from his wife. Oops.
▸ MOTHER — OH INYOUNG (45) — BAKERY OWNER — TOUGH & ARROGANT — FIVE/FIVE
Truly's mother, happens to be the ruthless one in the family. Daring to whip her daughter into shape if she ever stepped out of line (her hair used to get pulled all over the place when she was younger because her mom would grip onto her scalp with her talons and fling her head every which way). For some reason, her mother is a very orderly type of lady who likes to keep people in line; which, has turned her into an arrogant type of lady. One, who knows her don't stink, and flaunts herself. Nonetheless, Inyoung and Truly are extremely close; Truly always going to Inyoung for help, and advice (as a mother should be able to give). Even though her mother could be ruthless, when needed, Truly loves her mother beyond compare.
▸ SUNBAE'S — VARIES — WINNER OF YG ENTERTAINMENT — VARIES — THREE/FIVE
Truly first met the members of WINNER, when they were all still trainees. They had met at some convention, where trainees are encouraged to show off their skills. She briefly had conversations with all of them; but, her and Jinwoo became fast friends. Thus, leading her to become friends with nearly all of them. She wasn't there much for when they were going through W.I.N: but she did text Jinwoo a few times 'fighting' and all that stuff. After they debuted, she really didn't see them. But, every once in awhile one of the members will want to meet up with her and they'll go out for coffee or something like that.

BACKGROUND : Truly Lin was born a miracle child on her father's part. For her father, it was practically impossible for him to actually get married and have a child because of his job. Her mother, on the other hand, could've had a real chance at a life that was drastically different than the one she has now. Her mother had graduated from Seoul University; and, afterwards, she could've gone to America to pursue her dreams of becoming a well-known pastry chef. Accidentally, though, she met her husband (soon to be separated from yet still entangled with) and a year later, got married and had Truly. Truly's life, as a child, was interesting. She remembers all the time her father would hoist her on his shoulders as he took her to his 'work'. She'd be coloring at a dingy desk in the corner of a concrete room, while her father reprimanded his subordinates. There were times in which she helped her mother at her newly owned bakery, usually failing at making frosting; and getting laughed at by her mother. From what she could remember, her parents (while married) always fought. There would be dishs clashing, verbal arguments, times in which her father wouldn't be home for days, and her mother would cry for days on end. That is, until they decided to separate when she was ten. At the time, she wasn't sure as to why; and she was thoroughly upset that her mother was living in their house, and her father was staying at his work (yet to buy his apartment). They hadn't divorced, and they haven't divorced. People always found that weird. But, now that Truly is older, she knows why her parents haven't divorced; because, even though they separated, they're still madly in love with one another.

Truly's school life was interesting. She was constantly taunted and screamed at for having a triad leader as a father. And literally begin familial related to the Lin Triad. Kids would pull on her hair, push her tray of food onto her clothes, not let her sit in the cafeteria at lunch, taunt her constantly, and call her family the worst of the worst. That's why Truly was constantly in trouble as a child. Nearly always getting into verbal, and physical fights. That she always won. She was constantly in-and-out of detention, always on the bad side of teachers, and was look down upon by many. But, she never let that get her down. At the age of fifteen, five years after her parents separated, Truly began to get involved with her school's choreo team. She was thoroughly involved with it for a year and a half before she realized she wanted to do this for a career. She looked up the best routed to go: an easy access into a dancing career. She thought about doing Taiwanese pop, though it wasn't really a famous thing at the time, nor is it now. So, she decided the Korean pop industry would be best. Despite her father adamantly disagreeing, her mother decided it wouldn't be bad for her to try and pursue a career in Korea. Her mother and her researched a few agency to audition for, and if she was offered a contract for one: she'd be allowed to stay as a trainee. JYP was on the list, a few weeks after her audition: she got in. She was sixteen at the time, nearing seventeen. She's been a trainee for about five years; and she's loved every minute. Besides pursuing dance, which she's significantly good at from all her training in high school, and the years as a trainee: she began to pursue rap. She's not amazing, or even to the status of a real rapper: but, she's pretty good for someone at JYP. Being able to control her breathing, and get the beat down easily.

As for her family life, now that she's grown up, it's a bit complicated. Society, and the public life don't know about what her father does for a living. JYP is in the dark as well, the only thing they do know is that her mother runs a bakery. Truly, and her parents came to a decision that if she wanted to continue her dream, she need her father's family's life to be on the down low. As far as anyone knows, her father is nonexistent. And, no one seems to care that they know nothing about him. If the question is to ever come off, Truly has practiced (with her mother's help) to deflect away from the subject. Her fellow trainees, one that try and get close to understand, are pushed further away and only get a smile or a quaint giggle for a response before Truly is leaving them in the dust. Her, and her family, know for a fact that if her father's career gets leaked, Truly is done for. So, they've done everything in their power to keep it underwraps. Even going as far as hiding every piece of information involving her father's history in society. All the people in her hometown, whom know of her father's career, has been hushed in some way. Either her father paid the moff, or her mother scared them off. The only way, her family history could be leaked, is if her family leaked it themselves.

She's constantly on edge because of her father. When she hears from her mother, that her father has done anything criminal in the past few days, it drives her insane. She won't hesitate from calling him up, and yelling at him adamantly. Even if he apologizes, she'll just cry and tell him how he's going to ruin her career. When visiting home, she'll find her father first, and rip him a new one. It usually causes tension between them; since, technically, he's only doing his job. But, the way Truly perceives it: he's being a criminal and if he actually cared about her, he'd quit his criminal ways and become a real father. But, she knows, that'll ever happen. Not even through all of her crying, begging, and anger fits. It just seems to push him to continue his ways...not stop them. There's really nothing she can do. This causes her to be extra careful, and extremely nervous around anyone in JYP, or the industry. She's always meticulous about what she says to anyone; and probably won't get close to someone, because of her fear.

Why do you want to become an idol? : 

▸ "I'm not sure if I truly have a reason; but, I knew my passion was for dancing. So, I become a trainee; while training, I found my passion to also include rapping. I-I guess I want to be an idol so that I can prove I'm at least good at something; since, I wasn't the smartest in school."

Which sub-group do you want to be a part of, and why? : 

▸ "I think the sub-group, Carousel would work best for me, and my style. Although I do like what BullsEYE stands for, Carousel is better well suited for me!"

What idol do you think you compare to? : 

▸  "I would like to think that my dancing is somewhat near the style of Miss A's Jia, or even f(x)'s Victoria. She's really good. As for rapping, I think SONAMOO's D.ana and I are really similar."

What idol is your inspiration? : 

▸ "Hyuna Sunbae-nim. I think people take her talent for granted, and only like her for her looks. But, her rapping and dancing skills are amazing. She's even proven herself with her singing; she's pretty amazing: both as a soloist, and part of 4Minute. I hope she succeeds more in the future! Unnie fighting!"
