rock ur body
( fc ) : im nayeon
( backup fc ) : yoon sohee
( height ) : 168cm
( weight ) : 58kg

( appearance ) : jin is average height for a korean female, with a very slim build. Most people, find her basic. Long, shimmering, brunette hair and thin-set hazel eyes: there's really nothing that shouts out "wow she's beautiful!" Her lips are a bit too thin, and her nose is a bit too set front. She hates her skin the most, which is why she packs on pounds of makeup. even when she feels lazy, she'll at least put on lipstick, foundation, and mascara. All to hide her most hated feature.

( style ) : Jin loves her body like no other. Which is why, she doesn't mind wearing revealing clothing. She almost seeks gratification from others when they see her in her clothes. And she doesn't mind that it's reinforced by her company to keep the look. She likes showing off her best featues as a way to boost her confidence. Hence, y, retro, and flirtacious is the way to go. Crop tops, high heels, shorts, skinnies, low-cutting blouses, flannels, and tight-fitting tees with lots of make-up being bulk of her style.
don't hate me

( personality traits )
 (+) : reliable, kind-hearted, hard-working, cautious
(-) : defensive, superficial, bitter, materialistic

( elaboration )Chae Jin is very complicated, beyond the natural eye. Too many people, Jin is seen as a quiet superficial who has everything given to her instead of earned. The real Jin, the one hidden behind the façade fame has made for her—is anything but that. Yes, she has a tendency to be quiet; that’s heavily due to the fact of how she was treated once she left YG. She was seen as an outcast to society, a spoiled brat, and the last thing she wants—having just debuted under TS—is to have everything spoiled for her if she says something wrong. Usually, the only time she ever voices her opinion (which is very rare) is when she’s around dalyong and Gayoon—the only people on the planet that seem to understand her and know she’s actually an angel in disguise. She’ll do anything that TS wants, whether it’s keeping up this fake personality or making herself worse. Mainly in fear of once again getting dropped and rejected. Even if the company demeans her, or angers her—she doesn’t and won’t care even if it upsets her. She really doesn’t care what she has to do to make it big. To become a star. She doesn’t mind having to be hurt emotionally constantly to the point she cries at night. She doesn’t care that she has to work herself to the bone to show improvement. Because, just as much as TS is using Jin, Jin’s using them.

As one can see, Jin is willing to throw out her pride for TS Entertainment and nearly anything having to do with her career. She no longer feels shame or embarrassment in aspects where she's expected to be. Around her idol career, she's used to withdrawing confidence in the superficial and materialistic aspects. Jin is constantly concerned over her looks and reputation (in the wrong aspects) that she's not willing to focus on the other stuff that should be making up her pride. Her manager, and TS Entertainment as a whole, are very hands-on with Jin’s looks. Criticizing her whole entire body and nearly anything having to do with her looks. Jin becomes very insecure and is very overly critical with herself because of it. In cause Jin always has to find some fault whether it be in her performances, her personality, her looks, and etc... And she refuses to accept when people say otherwise. Jin is not used to compliments and often misinterprets such things as mocking and/or lies. Jin will then responds in a defensive way, even when people are just trying to start an intimate conversation with her. She’s just very defensive of her career, looks, and her overall. It's in her nature. She speaks harshly without meaning to. As an overly critical person herself, she thinks that her thoughts and words aren't hurtful or mean, since she treats herself the same way. She doesn't really think when she speaks and her words often come out as harsh or cruel, even though she isn't really aware of it herself. So, when her fans try and stick up for her—saying that she didn’t actually say that and it was just the editing, they’re actually in the wrong because most of the time Jin actually did say that. Especially with being in the company of her members, they are comfortable enough to exchange the harshest words they can possibly use against each other. It’s almost like a habit for Jin and she is rarely aware that her words and her mannerisms may have a negative impact on those around her. Not to mention, Jin is immensely defensive. Just a simple thought or action can be easily misconstrued when it comes to her. And she immediately jumps on the ball of it. Jin, due to her insecurity and her own criticisms, automatically assumes people think the worst of her and is always quick to assume that is the case. Hence, she gets really defensive and overreacts in a harsh and judgmental way, especially when they criticize or question her. She shuts them down and refuses to listen, even if it's logical and/or she's in the wrong.

There’s definitely a bitter feeling for life, and specifically for her company. Sometimes, if dalyong or Gayoon bug her too much about how she’s feeling, she’ll sprout nonsense sarcasm about how ‘life is great’ and ‘everything’s perfect’. All of it coming out vicious and harsh. Most of the time she doesn’t do it on purpose, she just does on accident. What many people don’t know, and what is hidden from society because of her contract with TS, Jin does have another side to her. She's kind and compassionate at heart. She rarely treats people wrongly, and when she does, she doesn't really mean to. Or she just doesn't know about it overall. As the passive girl she is, Jin would rather hold onto the hurt and not burden or damage others just to relieve her pain. Jin can't stand it otherwise and feels immensely guilty of others take on her burden. Which is why she’s full of secrets. She has to be there and to somehow make things better, even at the expense of her pain and convenience. This is why she forgives so easily and is often taken advantage of by her friends, even Gayoon. She can never stay mad for long and sometimes pleads for forgiveness, even if she may not be in the wrong. Jin can't stand such judgement and tension.

( background ) :

Chae Jin was born to a nineteen-year-old woman, and her college boyfriend. At the time frame of her birth—and even now—young parents are looked down upon. Jin’s father, bailed out immediately, his parents having sent him to China to continue college. Leaving Jin with her mother, and only her mother. For the first five years of her life, Jin lived as the daughter of a young single mother. Around their quiet neighborhood, they were the talk of all the gossip. They were the one-percent of society who went against normality’s. When Jin started preschool, that’s when her paternal uncle—whom always had a thing for her mother—took a step into their life. The school teachers used to talk down to Jin, like she was less than all the other students. As if she was scum walking the earth and she didn’t even know why. At least, not until she was older. Because of the unfair abuse by teachers—and even some well-educated students—her uncle moved in with them, into their small apartment, and became her stand-in father. People at school, and around their neighborhood, began to believe that her uncle was actual father—and that Jin wasn’t a product of a young single mother but only the product of a young couple. Teachers didn’t treat her equally but they did treat her better than before.

Around the age of thirteen, Jin went with her mother to Seoul where her mother was looking for a job as a cook. She managed to secure a job as a chef for the cafeteria at the headquarters of YG Entertainment. Her mother—knowing that Jin had a dream of music—decided to ask that for the first month of payment, they’d let Jin audition. And so Jin did, and she got in as a trainee. She was treated drastically different by all the other trainees. Much like her early school years, she was treated like scum—for being the daughter of the head chef. The only support system she had (one she didn’t rely on much) was her uncle and her younger cousin who came to live with them after his parents (Jin’s father’s sister and brother-in-law) decided to tour the world for their prolonged honeymoon. She couldn’t rely on her mother, in fear that the woman would get upset and or stressed. So, she stuck it out and became strong. At the age of seventeen, she was set to debut with the now cancelled girl group, Never Letting Go. A scandal broke out two weeks before their music video for their single was to be released. Someone caught on video, Jin yelling viciously to a staff member before throwing a drink of water on the woman’s face. To add more fire to the flames, her ex-member, Rara, came out and stated that Jin verbally abused her and all of the other members of their group. Not only that, but Rara also bashed her singing by uploading a video of Jin singing when she was thirteen—and still learning—creating wide spread hate for not only being a spoiled brat but for also being “talentless”. Practically a week after the scandals broke, Jin was removed from the group and then dropped from her label. The reason the group didn’t debut, and instead broke up before it, was because a member—Sookyung—came out as gay after a video was leaked of her with her partner.

Jin took nearly a year off from her singing career because of everything that happened, and was what her family classified as a ‘mess’. You could find her crying in her sleep, mopping around their townhouse, being overall lazy. Finally, her younger cousin—who was only sixteen at the time—sat down with her and told her what she had to do. He told her to it up, and audition for a different agency, to start over and be better. Because he believed in her, and so does their uncle and her mom. He said that even though she caused such a mess this last time, she could make up for it—because he knows the real her, the one that’s sweet as pie and that the rest of the world deserves to know her too. Jin, suddenly influenced by what her cousin said, decided to audition for a series of agencies before getting into TS. It was surprising since no one wanted her because of her reputation; but, of course, there was a catch to her being a trainee. And that was, for at least two years from when the contract was signed, Jin has to keep up the ‘bad girl’ attitude. They said that it will catch people’s attention. That all news is ‘good’ news. No matter the reputation, people will be interested. And Jin was desperate so she agreed.

Love Forward, her new group, debuted in January of 2016 and all eyes were on them. People were just waiting for Jin’s next mistake. Netizens were going crazy, about how she managed to debut after everything that happened. They were constantly booked for interviews; variety shows: nearly anything. They were so popular that they won the triple crown on Show Championship. Jin was in the spotlight of the group despite only being the vocalist—lucky for her, she was transcended into the Face of the Group. Yet, she couldn’t help but hate everything. People only loved to hate her, they don’t love her. They love to say nasty things about her, and spread rumors. Even her members do the same. It was driving her nuts. When she found the news for “We Live Together” and found out that it had finally been two years since she signed the contract with TS—which meant the agreement for her ‘bad girl’ personality was up—she decided to go for it. To finally change her image, even if that meant losing interest. She was going to do what she set out to do in the first place. Be herself.

family ) :
• Mother | sang minkyung | 40 | head chef | loving & aggressive | Jin loves her mother like no other—she believes her mother deserves an award for what she went through as a teenage mother. No matter what happened, Minkyung always seemed to love her daughter—nothing brought her down not even people calling her a disgusting woman for having a child so young. Though there were instances where her mother could become unpleasant, such as when the scandal happened—and everyone freaked out on her, especially her mother. But things became better afterwards.
• paternal uncle | chae jihoon | 40 | lawyer | caring & serious | Jin has always considered Jihoon like a father. Seeing as her father has never been in her life—and for all she knows, he never will be—Jihoon happens to be the best person to take the job. He’s amazingly caring, and is the one person who always seems to be there when she’s about to cry or fall into a pit of despair. But, and as long as she can remember, Jihoon has always been strict. He’s very serious about Jin going to college and finishing her schooling—even though he’s supportive of her dreams—and is always convincing her to go to college. Though, she’s never really thought about it.
• cousin | chae yongdal | 19 | college student | supportive & lazy | Yongdal entered Jin’s life when she was a teenager. The two were like brother and sister; and he’s practically the only member of Jin’s family who she trusts completely with her problems. In return, he gives her wise advice. But, he—like any human being—has his downsides. He can be quite rude, and always sasses her, and can be mischievous (like selling strands of her hair online for profit to crazy fans). Nevertheless, the two are a couple of best friends that happen to be related.

friends ) :
Jin doesn't consider anyone close enough to be a friend.

others ) :
• ex-member | Shin rara | 23 | soloist | fun & materialistic | Jin and Rara never got along. The two but heads nearly all the time while training and practicing. Rara was over the top, and Jin was quiet—which made them nearly polar opposites. When Rara felt like their group was never going to debut and was going to end, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She bashed Jin and was the root cause for Jin’s emotional terminal. After what happened, happened, Jin and Rara became sworn enemies. All articles that talk about the two, describe their hatred for each other.

They became famous after notice of Jin joined the group, and when they debuted with their first EP “Love Blossoms”. Which, despite the hatred for Jin, received positive views and some awards which sent them to stardom

group members ) :
(all of their stage names are greek goddesses)
• vocalist, Maknae | eun taehee (Eris) | 17 | blunt & optomistic | Taehee and Jin very rarely talk to each other outside of public. If they do, things are usually quiet, and sour. Taehee (like many) looks down on Jin, despite being younger, and treats her like she’s nothing more than a nuisance in her life. Taehee will outright say that Jin is everything the media says, even though Taehee knows Jin the least out of all the members.
• vocalist, main dancer, rapper | Park Hyojoo (Selene) | 17 | faithful & cold | Hyojoo is very nice to Jin, too nice—and she figured that out really quickly. Unlike Taehee, Hyojoo will talk about Jin behind her back. While, at the same time, act like she’s fine and okay with Jin in the group when speaking to her. After Jin found out, she confronted the younger, and the two haven’t been on good terms since. Hyojoo still doesn’t say rude things to Jin but won’t say nice things either.
• main vocalist, dancer | lim gayoon (Eirene) | 19 | caring & cautious | Gayoon is the only member who dared to get to know Jin, and she was thoroughly surprised by the nice and quiet girl she got to know. Jin, even though she says she doesn’t have friends, considers Gayoon to be the closest one to it. She’s the only one she’ll talk to things about, and tell her all her problems. They share secrets, and they care about each other. Gayoon, also, finds Jin to be a good friend and considers her like a sister. They’ve known each other the longest out of the whole group.
• leader, rapper, vocalist | Han soeun (Iris) | 22 | youthful & stern | Soeun is the only other member of love forward who has dared to try and get to know Jin. They’re not as close as Gayoon and Jin; but, Jin likes to think that they’re at least on good terms. She believes Gayoon is a good leader because of her firm and cautious personality: keeping everyone organized and inline. Soeun also happens to be the one that keeps the other members in line when they’re being mean or harsh to Jin. And in return, Jin is immensely grateful to her.

( comments ) : I was only wondering about something having to do with the love interest. You said they’d be in the house—does that mean they’re part of the cast for the show? Or that they’d show up at some point in the house? Other than that, I hope you liked my app! ^^
