▫ jiho was the result of his mother's one-night stand with what jiho likes to call a 'rich pompous prick' (read: a chaebol's son) who had been 'dating' her in secret. upon learning of her pregnancy he cut off ties with her as his parents would have disowned him otherwise. (his mother was 20)
▫ he moved to canada when he was 3 because his mother found a job there. they later moved back to korea because his mother fell ill due to overworking herself. they currently live with his mother's sister in beomjo.
▫ after having the twins, his mother became rather weak but could not stop working to support her children. in the years that led up to their move back to korea, it had gotten worse with her even fainting.

▫ he gets into quite a lot of outside school too, making him rather acquainted with the police. most people assume it's because he's just picking fights for fun, but what people don't know is that he usually gets into fights because he's helping somebody. (jiho has a bit of a hero complex i guess,,, and he doesn't know how to help other than with his fists rip my poor son.) the police have yet to throw him in jail for something actually bad (like theft, arson, etc.) some of them think he's a decent kid, if he'd just stop using violence.
▫ when jiho was in canada he used to get bullied quite a lot because he had a bit of difficulty speaking english at first as he only ever spoke to his mother in korean. contrary to how he speaks now, he had a lot of difficulty pronouncing things back then.
▫ one of their neighbors was a mixed martial arts instructor, who offered to teach jiho after he came home with bruises for the nth time that month. jiho's specialty is muay thai but he also learnt judo. he learnt under his neighbor for 6 years
▫ as his siblings never got to learn under their neighbord, he taught them basic self-defence in case they ever need it.

and to that jiyeon usually replies with "and what is it that do you do, dearest brother?" with a tint of sarcasm– a trademark trait of the song siblings perhaps? the younger of the two twins and the more mischievous one as well. she's the one that makes both jihwan and jiho grow white hair with what she gets up to thanks to her curiousity and daring behaviour. while she's no delinquent like jiho, she has quite a mouth that occasionally gets her in trouble. she's also rather intelligent just like jihwan, which makes her the sarcastic smart alec, hence them being on scholarships. jiho is extra protective of jiyeon because she's the one who is probably going to get herself into a dangerous situation. it doesn't help that his dear sister is rather attractive, gaining quite a bit of attention from her the other students. fortunately for the song brothers, jiyeon has yet to find a guy she likes stating that 'they're all a little bit too dumb... or lack sense. maybe in a few years they'll get better so calm yourselves."

"we love you too jiho!" the two exclaim in unison. park kinam and im byungwoo, the unofficial right and left hand of their gang. the three of them have been friends since the beginning of time, and even if jiho always says he wishes they weren't he's extremely thankful for knowing them. unlike their 'benevolent leader', kinam jokes, kinam and byunwoo are more playful and chill compared to jiho. kinam is the one that likes pretending to be a tough guy as a joke but is acknowledged for being strong as well. byungwoo is supposedly the brains of the trio, but his constant puns and bad jokes just make the entire gang pretend he doesn't exist– lovingly of course. these two know about jiho's background and he trusts them enough that if he were unable to do so himself, kinam and byungwoo would be there to watch over his siblings and would even drop by to make sure his mother was okay. his mother knows of kinam and byungwoo, while she won't offer any comments towards her son's and their delinquency (she'd rather not dwell on it lest it give her a heart attack or something) she's just thankful her son has friends he trusts and holds dearly in his heart.

how did you find out about the murder club? this is absolutely pointless jiho thinks. the interviewer frowns in confusion as he can hear jiho muttering... numbers? under his breath before finally speaking, "literally everyone has heard of it because of jinwoong's constant advertising. i think the correct question is who hasn't? you'd understand if you were in the same class as jinwoong, the guy can barely keep his mouth shut."
why do you want to join the club? especially since you don't seem to like jinwoong, why bother? he lets out a sigh, "honestly, i really wouldn't if i didn't think it might actually be a good idea. wait, why do i even need to explain myself to you? can we just get to the next question." i want to join because it would mean lowering the crime rate right? that means protecting my siblings and my mom; that's more than enough of a reason to join i bet. not that i'd ever tell this guy.
what can you add to the club? "protection. some knowledge about things they would never know unless they got into the things i do. i know my way around the streets, all the shortcuts, deadends, blindspots." the interviewer looks surprised, jiho did just transfer about 5 years ago. "yes, i know what you're thinking, but it's not that shocking really. it just takes a lot of exploring. but you seem like you'd get a heart attack if you so much as walked into the wrong side of town." jiho chuckles at his own joke, low and husky before shaking his head. "is that all or what?"

"jesus christ, of course i'd talk to the guy. during school hours though, his dad might not be happy to see me at his home. might start lecturing me again... maybe i'll rough jiwoong up a little if he won't let me in." the interviewer frowns. "i'm kidding, jeez. i may be the supposed poster child of delinquency in this school but i'm not that big of a jackass." realising this was the end of the interview, he gets up and grabs his school jacket before exiting the door without so much as a proper good bye other than a half-hearted wave.
how did you find out about the murder club? this is absolutely pointless jiho thinks. the interviewer frowns in confusion as he can hear jiho muttering... numbers? under his breath before finally speaking, "literally everyone has heard of it because of jinwoong's constant advertising. i think the correct question is who hasn't? you'd understand if you were in the same class as jinwoong, the guy can barely keep his mouth shut."
why do you want to join the club? especially since you don't seem to like jinwoong, why bother? he lets out a sigh, "honestly, i really wouldn't if i didn't think it might actually be a good idea. wait, why do i even need to explain myself to you? can we just get to the next question." i want to join because it would mean lowering the crime rate right? that means protecting my siblings and my mom; that's more than enough of a reason to join i bet. not that i'd ever tell this guy.
what can you add to the club? "protection. some knowledge about things they would never know unless they got into the things i do. i know my way around the streets, all the shortcuts, deadends, blindspots." the interviewer looks surprised, jiho did just transfer about 5 years ago. "yes, i know what you're thinking, but it's not that shocking really. it just takes a lot of exploring. but you seem like you'd get a heart attack if you so much as walked into the wrong side of town." jiho chuckles at his own joke, low and husky before shaking his head. "is that all or what?"
