about my reputation as a sekai author...
it has come to my attention that yes, most of my fics on aff are sekai, i'm being known as a sekai author, and i feel like that's... what's expected of me from readers?
what i mean is... i feel like some readers are feeling entitled and expect me to write sekai, and only sekai, just bcuz that's what i'm being known as, and they get offended when i don't write sekai??
what brought this on? i saw a comment threatening that if my Not Equal fic ends in chanhun, she'll unsubscribe to ALL my stories, and i was just like ??? (and hey you, if you're reading this, thanks for blocking me on twitter when i've never talked to you before or have ever done anything to you :/ you think by blocking me i won't be able to see your tweets but i have friends who tell me things you know lmao)
1st of all, the fic is TAGGED chanhun (along with sekai and kaistal). 2nd of all, it's literally ONE fic among my MANY sekai fics. 3rd of all, you're so angry one of my fic ended not in sekai you'd not want to read the rest of my fics that are pretty much exclusively sekai??
i mean, honestly, i'm not that worried about her in particular, since it's just 1 reader among thousands of the subscribers i have, but it did make me wonder like... do my other readers feel the same way? would they hate me if i ever write anything NOT sekai?
do other sekai authors have this problem? bcuz i've seen tons of sekai authors who write for other pairings, and i'm not talking about non-sehun or non-kai pairings (i posted infinite/bts fics before and no one got mad lol), but like. they write hunhan. or kaisoo. or whatever. do they get hate when they write sehun or kai with someone else? or is this only happening with me? will my readers decide to unsubscribe to all my fics if i ever post up a chanhun or whatever fic one day, like that person above planned to do??
idk, it's just something that had me like ??? i enjoy writing sekai bcuz they're my #1 otp, i think both kai and sehun are flexible and can fit into many different aus, and, like i've said in an ask.fm reply before, usually when i think of an idea they're always for sekai. idk why lol.
buuuut, if some sekai fans are so unreasonable that they'd block me and unsubscribe to all my fics just bcuz i wrote a non-sekai pairing (and you don't even know it yet!! Not Equal hasn't ended yet lmao), then i'm just like. this is who i'm writing for? bcuz wow, i'm speechless if so.
idk. lol. i'm not angry but i'm just disappointed and mostly confused lol. i swear to god other sekai authors don't have as many problems as i do. am i just unlucky? lmao.
