Hi this is a rant that I just felt like getting off my chest. I'm just gonna launch right into it. 

1. I HATE the words "feminine" and "masculine". I strongly despise those words. 

For too long now, people have used the word 'feminine' to mean weak, frail and coward, while 'masculine' emphasized strength and valor. In fact, when a gay man is called 'feminine' it's an insult. Why? 

Because people find it insulting and shameful to be a woman. 

I feel like there is something very wrong with these words. I also detest how a woman who is physically fit and strong is refered to as 'masculine'. No, she is NOT a man; she is not 'masculine'; she is a tough, fearless WOMAN. She is a woman and not anything different. Or when guys wear makeup: he's not 'feminine' or 'girly'; he is simplya guy who likes style and makeup. AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. 

But no one realizes that; instead, we will forever live in a male-dominated society where it is despicable to be likened to a woman. It really bothers me. 

Update: Another reason why I strongly hate the word "feminine" is because I only started wearing makeup a year ago. And to hear guys who wore makeup being told "stop acting like a woman" or to hear that "all girls like makeup" or I HAVE to like nail salons cuz I'm a girl puzzled me. cuz if I didn't wear makeup, did that not make ME a girl?

2. Unless an idol announces it publicly, STOP CALLING IDOLS GAY AND STOP ACTING LIKE THEY ARE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BELIEVE SO. 

I'll explain: Look, I ship Minkey like crazy, y'all know that, but really I don't care who they date in real life. They could have their own girlfriends or boyfriends or have multiple for all I care. If they never date, IT'S FINE. The stories I write are merely fantasies of mine that I want to verbalize cuz I think they're great stories. But Minho and Key are not obligated to date each other or any other person for that matter. 

Really, I started writing this because while I was looking up the lyrics for 'uality' by Taemin, I stumbled upon this blog that discussed the ual orientation of each Shinee member, speculating whether each member was gay, straight, etc. They started the list by saying that there was no way Onew was gay, and thus he is DEFINITELY straight. I couldn't even finish reading because of how disgusted I was. 

I mean, what right do you have to say that Onew MUST be straight? How do you know he's not hurting himself because he's actually in love with a man? How do YOU know he does not like men? You literally have no proof and you're just reaffirming your assertions as if they were fact. It's absolutely disgusting.

Additionally, I don't care if Key wears all pink or listens to Lady Gaga or Beyoncé or loves makeup and fashion etc; first off, he is NOT feminine, he is KIM KIBUM. And second, if HE does not announce that he is indeed gay, then do not assume that he is. Likewise, don't assume they're straight either. Imagine how upset they'd feel if people just paired them up with someone who doesn't match their preferences just becuse they "look cute together". And once again, fantasies are one thing, reality is another.
