i do believe that happiness is short-lived.

and i don’t know

maybe it’s just an irrational fear of mine

but have you ever felt that you can’t allow yourself to be happy

even for the shortest moment in your life

because if you do

the world may come crashing down on you

and you may lose everything?

the way it drenches me

leaves me chilled

keeps me captive

—does it really ever get better?

and even in my doubtful state

i’m certain i’m not going to stop doing what makes me happy

because all that completes me

my answer to everything

is you.

i do believe that happiness is short-lived.

my faith wanders in you.
