ELABORATION —

jihoon is a charming man and he knows it. he's friendly on the outside, he's gorgeous at a distance and he has a certain air to him that will most likely attract you. he's just not ~anybody~. and it's no wonder that he's a part of moose, nor is it a wonder that some girls swarm around him from a distance. a shame he's ace. but along with his charm of his that is really indescribable, comes the person underneath. jihoon is a sincere man, who does everything he does with sincerit. he wants to believe in good and maybe he does and maybe that's why he's still here despite his disorder. he has a wild imagination but it's quite useful and it's gotten him out of various situations. it also helps a lot with getting moose out of troubles - and if anything, it's nice just to be able to revert into a world created entirely by jihoon. it may be hard to see and you'll probably only learn it when you get really close to jihoon, he's incredibly sympathetic. needless to say, it's not always that visible and he may not lend advice to - well, anyone, to be exact, but if you rant, trust him to understand you. he knows what it's like to go through rough times and he'll quickly put himself in your shoes - and actually know how you feel. you cannot deny jihoon's intelligence when you meet him for the first time. it's in his grades, of course, but more than that, he displays his intelligence with random trivia (once in a while) and he probably knows what you're talking about, even if he acts like he doesn't. jihoon is a wonderful friend, well, if only his disorder wasn't bringing his negative qualities to the front and you'd have to know him pretty well to know the real man beneath.

 

 

the word that'll probably first come to mind when you meet jihoon for the first time is pessimistic. because he is awfully pessimistic. is it no wonder with his disorder and his family background? probably not. nonetheless he's sort of tiring company in a bad mood and even in a good mood you'll have to look far for positivity. he's also introverted and he doesn't necessarily enjoy a lot of social gatherings. in fact, the only people who isn't draining him completely is moose and even then he sometimes need space away from them. with a personality that isn't very fit for fight (and how he hates conflicts) he comes off as passive-aggressive. scratch that, he is very passive-aggressive. when you can't fight someone physically, at least you can snap, ignore and pretend not to create conflicts when in actuality that is exactly what you do. watch out for his sneaky games, his passive-aggressiveness is all about getting sneaky, petty revenge. (and he's good at it). with his anorexia came his vanity and - it's not that jihoon cares particularly about your look, all he cares about is his look. and he spends hours on thinking through and planning and creating illusions when he's "too skinny" so nobody questions and he spends a long time looking impeccable as well. needless to say, if he rants, it's about his looks. it's tiring, to say the least, but that's just how it is. at least he isn't talking down to others. vanity and arrogance sort-of goes hand in hand and jihoon comes across as arrogant. the more vain he is, the more arrogant he sounds as well. he just can't help it. and indecisive? well, that comes with wanting to know everything about a situation before making a decision and knowing every outcome takes time. jihoon is the kind of person that all the girls swoon over from a distance, yet when they talk to him they change their mind about him. he's a wonderful friend if you get close enough (and you can deal with his sometimes very-much ranting...) 

 

BACKGROUND + CURRENT EVENTS —

baek jihoon was born to an actress mother and a businessman father in august. he has an older sister four years older than him. his father and older sister never really liked him but as the sweet child he was, jihoon didn't care much. his childhood was sweet outside the clear dislike from his father but he was never beaten or anything. sure, his sister was favored but his mother tried her best to give him all her love as well.

 

when he turned 10 he was exposed to the beauty standards of society and despite not being overweight or ugly or anything of the like, the standards molded themselves into 'if i become pretty, then dad will accept me'. at the age of 12 he was deep into anorexia and his life turned into quite the hell. nothing happened at home though but he kept telling himself that he would be loved, that his dad would accept him if only he was pretty. his sister seemed to hate him even more the skinnier he got. jihoon met the moose-members at the age of 12 as well and became a part of the group. his friends were everything he sort of wish he had from his parents and although happened within the group as well, jihoon kept close with them all. they were after all all he had in terms of friends (and he do love them on a platonic level) at the age of 15 he was admitted to the hospital for the first time and although his mother and father tried to keep it secret, it got exposed to the media that he was eating disordered. and it caused a controversy, mainly on his mothers part because 'gosh, the famous actress couldn't even keep her son from something like mental disorders'. of course it died down after a while but whenever the media reports on his mother, they somehow seem to be able to sneak in a few comments about him as well.

 

 

jihoon doesn't go to school currently, his mother trying desperately to find a way for him to recovery from his anorexia. this only makes for a very bored jihoon, a lot of gossip he can dig out from the dirt about his pretty neighbors (and occasionally his sister though that only really reaches moose because he's not that much of a ). otherwise he strolls the streets, runs a mile or five, depending on his calorie intake and sometimes, if moose calls, he meets up with them in the evening as well. jihoon has kind of completely given up on recovery but he doesn't really 100% feel like dying which is probably why he's still alive. there's still that little spark of hope, of something better, of being thinner. 

 

RELATIONSHIPS — 

 

▪️ close friends - park seunghan (19) - before he died seunghan was jihoons friend and jihoon was - well, the gossip. he cared about seunghan too, tho. he was mostly watching him from afar and never really meddled in the flirting or fighting but he did watch closely in order to step in if he could. the two of them spent more time talking than flirting with girls but then again, jihoon wasn't late to say yes to a club as long as no one in moose forced him to drink. if seunghan was worried about him, jihoon was blind to it. 

 

▪️ acquaintance  - park seungyeon (16) - seunghans younger sister. jihoon doesn't know her fairly well mainly just from what seunghan has told about her though. sure, they've met a couple of times but - nah, they're not really close as all. jihoon doesn't have a bad image of her, seunghan seemed very protective of her so he supposes they had a tight relationship. 

 

▪️ Ex-best friend - han minhyuk (20) - college student, major undecided - bright, secretive, careful, funny - minhyuk and jihoon have been best friends since they were ten and also before jihoon became a part of moose. they're not best friends anymore tho, because minhyuk moved to seoul and jihoon stayed in myeonghwa. they still hold a little contact and jihoon still likes him as a friend but well - distance sometimes tear people apart. minhyuks parents are both filthy rich as well.
