Being nice is becoming extinct!?

I'm back after a while ~~~~~~

I'm wondering... Is it bad being nice? Or do you need to be sarcastic or mean to survive?

I mean, I'm not even talking about those I meet daily XD I won't even suffer from that. I meant here on AFF.

There were two recent situations where people were actually being mean or insinuating things, but I took it lightly as I thought it was not on purpose... it turns out it was. Wth.

First of all, someone comments on my fanfic saying something like "Whut, you sure are slow, I've just seen that your last update was in 2014"... but in a very offensive way. I took it lightly and explained, assuming my guilt... I was a bit ironical too, because it seemed a bit mean but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt, but apologized. I wondered why I never received a reply: the comment was deleted! He/She read it, and didn't bother to reply because their previous intentions weren't good (that's why I don't remember their exact words). Why would you comment there just to enphatize things in that way, when you're not even reading the story?

And then last week someone just accused me (or, better saying, my friend who is the real author of the story) of plagiarism. They said it was very similar to another story by the X person, adding 'just saying', but when I told them the story was done like 7 years ago while that story she/he was speaking was from 2 years ago, and it was even published here in AFF after mine, I never received a reply... because it got deleted. I mean, someone with good wills would just laugh it off and say "ok, I see, thank you", right? I was so nice, it was stupid to delete if they didn't have bad intentions. And I didn't take it badly, so they didn't need to feel ashamed (but yeah, the stories weren't really alike. Only the subject lol).

Well, I won't even mention social networks. People have no etiquette. They just laugh at people they don't know and are so damn rude! A bit disgusting..

Nope, you definitely do not need to be mean or sarcastic to survive on AFF. ^_^ Just to answer your first question.

There'll always be people who wants to worst for everybody else, it's sort of ridiculous. But a positive mind usually wins in the end - kill them with kindness and all that jazz. I haven't had any rude encounters, luckily, and the times where I've been defensive (and maybe rude) in discussions (usually) I've realized my mistake and apologized. I really try not to be hard, sometimes it may be misunderstood but - yeah. c:
As long as one can apologize for their mistakes I think we're on the right way. ^^
And being positive is so much more fun than searching for negativity. xp

I guess we finally know now when to use the downvote feature in the comments section. I'd downvote the hell out of them nasty comments.

Tbh some users are just roaming around to find someone they can bully and prey upon. If they see that you can outsmart or outtalk them and present them valid arguments, theyll shut the hell up. And then block them for the finishing move.
