🔽 GOLDFISH + as her name sounds similar to 金鱼 and just because one of her friends accidentally called her goldfish once instead of her name.once her cousin accidentally called her this as well,her family picked it up.before zhenyu used to get annoyed if she got called it but she's slowly gotten used to the name and fond of it as only the people who are close to her call it.another reason for the name is apparently because zhenyu's looks and personality are 'gold'.

🔽 THE SECOND NANA + she isn't the visual or anything but
others have noticed that zhenyu owns a slight resemblance to
after school's nana as well as twice's tzuyu.zhenyu owns similar facial features to tzuyu but overall also looks like nana from their blank face to their stare.they both own the same exotic beauty that is beautiful and unique in their own way.as it's mostly used for popularity so the group can gain more popularity and zhenyu can be well known,she has the glory of being called 'the second nana' or 'rookie nana'. the nickname is mostly used by netizens and fans as well on variety shows and at times,the other members use the name teasingly.

in a cantonese speaking province and it's her mother tongue.she
knew it before she went to school as her whole family also spoke
cantonese.even if she should be focusing on her mandarin,she is

guangdong.even if the other members don't know when she's speaking cantonese,they always manage to realise when they hear one slang term that's so commonly used or whenever she's

for approximately two years,might some say it's weird she hasn't
gotten the hang of korean yet.because korean is a hard language,
she's still learning hard with help from sm.however because she
would have extra korean lessons but her dance and vocal practice
is taking too much time for extra classes.her hangul is neater than most because of the extra minutes of practice and zhenyu
owns accented korean and it's evident that she's from china and
hence,she doesn't talk much on variety shows.scared of making
mistakes and offending someone or even worse,getting laughed at.

english was cut due to the move to south korea.zhenyu wants to

picking this name for zhenyu.most chinese trainees at sm suffer the same treatment,not being
allowed to use their real name due to pronunciation reasons,even if she did use her name it'd
be 'jinwoo'.since there already is one in the idol world and sm couldn't shorten it to 'zhen'
because it'd be 'jin' and there is already two jins in the industry and so hera was chosen was
suggested by one of zhenyu's dance instructors.he said that she was the goddess that could control
everyone and took care of everyone else to her and zhenyu agreed,it did suit her and well,she didn't
want to end up with a weird name.for example 'the8',no offence to her sunbae but she's still very curious on why he chose that name.
