TRAINEE YEARS — Six Years (One in SM and Fixe in Jellyfish)
TRAINEE BACKGROUND — Moonbyeol started as a trainee at SM. Trainee life for her was not hard, but also not easy. She would always stay back late, working on her dance and rapping skills (since she is not the best dancer) and after moving to Jellyfish, she also used to stay back to work on her leadership skills. She left SM in 2011, she felt like her image did not match with other SM groups, so she made the move to Jellyfish, where she met the other girls of Love and eventually debuted as 'Love'.

background » Moonnbyeol was born on January 1st, 1995 to her young father (A university professor engligh/literature) and her young mother (A small scale fashion designer). Growing up, Moonbyeol was a very creative child always drawing, dancing, singing, she would watch her mum designing clothes and try to copy her (with no prevail). When she was about two, Moonbyeol's father got a job offer from the University Of Melbourne. He accepted and Moonbyeol, her mother and father all made the move to Australia. Of course it was not hard on Moonbyeol at the time because she was only two, so fitting in in Australia was no big problem. When she was three, she started to attend kinder, then entering school. She was like any other kid.

Her love for music started when she was about four, her mother would always be listening to first generation idol groups so Moonbyeol was made to listen to them too.She fell in love with the music and used to try to sing along to it the best she could. Her mother saw that she had a interest in it and decided to send her to vocal classes starting after her 5th birthday. As she got older, in about 2009 she started to discover more and more Korean music and idol groups. She decided to make the move from vocals to rap after discovering these groups as she though the rapping was more "cool". Most of the idol groups she was finding were from a company called SM.After she did some research, she discoverd that she sound audition for SM and become like her idols. She began to work hard on her rapping skills before she asked her parents if she could audition. At first, her father was against it. He loved his daughter, but if she was accepted, she would have to go live in Korea alone, away from her family. Her mother on the other hand was all for it. If it was her daughters dream she wanted her to at least try. After a while of talking it over with her father, she managed to convince him to let their daughter try. At the age for fourteen, Moonbyeol sent in her audition tape to SM entertainment. She danced to SNSD's 'Into the New World' and sang and rapped 'Tell Me' by the Wonder Girls. About a month after her audition, she received an email back from SM telling her she would have to go to Korea to perform in front of staff at the company.

Moonbyeol and her mother left for Korea in December, 2009. Moonbyeol performed the 'Lies' by Big Bang and danced to another 'La Cha Ta' by F(x) at the SM buildings and she got accepted! Before her mother had to leave back to Australia, she helped her move into the trainee dorms and Moonbyeol made her mother promise she would send photos of her cats every now and again. After one year of training at SM, Moonbyeol moved to Jellyfish, where she later went on to debut with 'Love'

Moonbyeol finished her schooling at Seoul High School Of Performing Arts.

HISTORY — Moonbyeol met Yoona when she was a trainee at SM Entertainment in 2010.
