helpless
a deep inhale and her lungs catch fire
struggling within her white, wrapped arms
Drowning in the putrid air; a single sob
lights flash past and the darkness engulfs her
Why are you crying, little girl?
Why are you so weak?
Inside her tired; weary mind
the demons, to her speak.
hush now, don't be shy
the lights are calling dear.
a kiss of fate, you know you wanted it
mud, grime, and reddened sheets.
her body shakes with every plea;
the sky shows no mercy
if only she could fade away
if only...
her weary head finally falls,
into a pitiful dose of sleep
to save the little girl's grief
for tomorrow's soul to keep.
