APPEARANCE She came back from China with her hair dyed white as a sign of rebellion against her father. It brought too many attention so she changed it to pitch-dark. This colour makes Sun Je look much a bit older and mature. She often ties them up in different hairstyles. Medium height, around 167 cm. Small scar, under her lower lip, not visible unless somebody knows it's there. Her weight often changes, she's not fat but one month she looks perfectly fine and another one she has got problem to fit into her favourite jeans. Her glances can be very intimidating when she's not smiling and people sometimes find her scary due to resting face.  Though when she's smiling she looks lot younger, almost like a different person.

STYLE She lived her teen years in China where cute and bubbly style was most fashionable but she disliked it a lot. Travelling often, mostly to Europe for music competition, made her into more Western fashion. She dresses in slightly boyish style with few femine traits. She owns many checkered shirts (often bought on male site of the shop) and oversized Christmas-themed sweaters which she wears all year long. She mixes tight-fitting shirts with oversized jackets and says big 'no' to pastels. On the contrary she mostly chooses wedge heels shoes and ear cuffs. Sometimes she thinks about dressing in more femine style but she doesn't feel comfortable in it. She prefers skinny jeans over skirts or dresses. Lately she started to wear beanies and face masks when going out in her free time. At school she's mostly without/light make-up but after it she put on stronger look in order to look a bit unyielding. (by stronger look I literally mean the make-up Yezi always had during UR2)

 but looks aren't everything。

YOU'RE ONLY AS PRETTY ON THE OUTSIDE AS YOU ARE ON THE INSIDE...

PERSONALITY

 Positive
- talkative
- hard working
- witty

Neutral
- sassy
- proud

Negative
- huffy
- blunt
- vindictive

Talkative - She enjoys talking. She could spend whole day on chatting, texting, writing letters or talking on the phone. When meeting someone on the internet she's very quick to find mutual language with said person since she feels anonymous and no one judges you there. She can be whoever she wants. It's like one night stands but better because they can't end with a veneral disease. It takes her a while before she opens to person met in real life though. She can blabber about many topics but in reality it's very hard to get her to talk about important issues that concerns or troubles her.

Hard working - She cannot devote to something that doesn't excites her, but when it does, her full attention is set on that thing. Music was her main interest for a very long time but as time went by, her family problems made her dislike it more and more. She felt like it was pointless since to play since she didn't have anyone to play for. At the moment she cannot look on her violin anymore. Now she devotes herself to coffee and work. Whenever she can she takes her co-workers shifts because she enjoys it.

Witty - Trait that makes her very likeable for newly met people. She's quick thinking girl that always lets others know her opinion on a given, even the smallest, issues. Small talks are never boring with her and her remarks makes everybody laugh. Unfortunately sometimes it can get her into trouble when insted of clever she sounds like a smartass but it's never her intention.

Sassy - When she feels very comfortable with someone she behaves very frivoulously. Her comments gets sassy and slightly cheesy and she often flusters friends with some of her remarks. Sometimes they're slightly s but it happens only when she's out, grabbing a drink or two. Lately she rarely shows this side of her and it's hard to wake her more funny self.

Proud - She cherish freedom and herself very strongly. She believes that everybody deserves fair treatment. Even when she feels insecure and the problems seems to overhelm her, she never admits to it out loud and waits untill being alone. She counts only on herself and has got trouble entrusting others that's why her teamwork lacks in many aspects. On the other hand she never complains and with head raised high she achieves set targets.

Huffy - She can't take scolding well. Even when deep in heart she knows that she deserves it, she is unable to accept it at first. Sometimes she thinks that other people's words are aimed at her, even if they aren't. She closes easily that's why she is better at talking with strangers than people who know her well.

Blunt - She speaks first, then thinks especially when under strong emotions. She doesn't control herself well at those moments. Sometimes she'll admit to things she was hesistant to say out loud.  When angered she might also say things that are painfull or even false just to release her emotions and hurt others. She repents soon after but rarely say it out loud.

Vindictive She holds grudges against people for a very long time. She forgives them but it takes a really long time to forget. It's like names of people that have hurt her in the past are engraved in her mind and heart.

The thing she's scared the most of is losing someone precious. Losing the love of her life and being abandoned by it. She's scared that she'll fell the same heartbreaking feelings her mother felt. She cannot stand the thought that someone who she truely loved and who loved her the most will change and forget abobut her. That's why she's so cautious when it comes to people who wants to be close to her.

THERE'S MORE TO YOU THAN MEETS THE EYE...

PAST  Born and raised in (South Detroit~~ sorry, couldn't help myself) Seoul as a bubbly and straigh-forward child. She has taken after her talented mother and showed predispositions to music ata very young age. Her parents introduced her to many intruments and she finally felt in love with violin when she saw life performance at the train station. Her childhood was rather positive and normal. She had many friends in primary school, had some knee bruises, didn't had any problems at school or at jumping across fences and was quite popular thanks to her talent. After her bestfriend moved out of city Sun Je had problem with keeping in touch and soon their bond dissapered (it's a route to connect her to different character or just a unimportant fact). But she still had that one friend that she spent time with almost everyday after school. Her name was Kwon Hye Mi. They weren't especially close and sometimes Sun Je felt judged by Hye Mi. Sun Je saw her as someone cooler than herself and sometimes they fought awfully. They just didn't click well together.

In fact it was their parents that grew really close together. Hye Mi mother - Tae Yoon divorced with her husband few years prior and Hwang family often helped her. They spent holidays together and took care of each others daughters often. They behaved as family, as if they were cousins. Especially Sun Je's father - Sung Woo grew attached to Hye Mi's mother. Soon Sun Je's - Su Yin mother came to realisation that her husband and best friend no longer share platonic friendship but some deeper feelings towards each other. Their life soon turned into chaos and family was divided. Marriage began war between each other and turned their love into hatred. Soon both of them started to use their daughter as a tool in their divorce. After long battle the court gave Sun Je's mother full custody over 11 years old Sun Je. The two soon left to China to start their new life in place that Su Yin was born. Due to divorce mother and daughter grew apart. Both of them were greatly hurt by Sung Woo behaviour but neither of them could talk about it. Girl hated her father, past friend and auntie. At first everyone thought that suprisingly her personality stayed unchanged but in reality she couldn't handle new situation. She never talked about it as if it was nothing and kept running away from problems.

In fact their live in China wasn't bad at all. They had better days when they went out together, to the restaurant or to see new movie but it wasn't as good as before. As long as neither of them didn't start topic of past and Sung Woo they had a good time together. Su Yin was still very influencial and well-known pianist so she had good income. Thanks to that, once a year they always travelled abroad for summer holiday. They always had tons of photos and selfies together.

Sun Je still practiced violin as her mother has wished but she didn't feel the joy coming from it anymore. She was very talented therefore expected to be best. Losing was not an option because it wouldn't mean someone being better than her but her being not focused and hard-working enough. She grew more and more rebelious. She wasn't causing problems at school or outside of it but she became hard to deal with. She had constant mood change. She wanted to make her mother proud but on the other hand she couldn't stand her constant orders and nagging. She missed her father but in contrary she didn't wanted to accept him into her life ever again. She wanted to turn back in time but she couldn't and it made her more and more sorrow and pitiful inside. Love and hatred filled her and she couldn't deal with those feelings.

Few days before important competition Sun Je had a fight with her mother. It soon turned from small missunderstanding into huge quarrel and both of them said things they didn't mean. Mother implied that if Sun Je hates her so badly then she should go back to Korea to her father and Sun Je stated that she doesn't want to participate in music competitions anymore and she hates music and she hates her behaviour. She earned a slap from her mother, who immediately apologised for he action but it was too late. On the day of competition one of her rivals pushed her onto the ground and she hurt the wrist. She started arguing with her but no one saw it so she couldn't prove it did happen. When Su Yin came in scene, she didn't believe Sun Je either and scold her for being so rebelious, lazy and for trying to humiliate her. Sun Je was both devastated and furious. Her pride couldn't let her quit even though pain in her wrist made it hard to play. During her performance she messed up at point which led her ending up with place below top5 even though previously she was named as possible winner. Her mother was both furious and sorry but neither of them could handle their feelings properly. instead of having real talk they ender up arguing again with both of them saying hurtful things to each other. It was just like never ending loop. They didn't wanted it to happen but still both of them created this situatio. They stopped talking to each other and such situation lasted for few weeks with them exchanging only few words such as "I'm going to be late today" or "Don't wait for me".

Finally one day Sun Je received a call from police. Her mother was caught in car accident. The road was slippery that day and driver of another car lost control over his vehicle which led to massive collision and her mother was on of the victims that passed away on the scene.

Sun Je barely remebers anything from those days. Her life once again turned upside down. Her grandparents weren't able to take care of her especially since her father wanted her to come back to Seoul. Even though she opposed, as a minor, she was sent by the court back to her father. Once again she didn't let her fasade fall but inside she was loosing it.

PRESENT She came back to Seoul (few moths prior the start of story) with even more grief and sorrow inside of her heart but yet again she didn't showed it to anyone. Just her apparance became more stronger. She still is talkative and witty but at the same time she's hard to approach since she often shows huffy and pretentious side of her which is just a shield to protect her from pain. She moved in with her father and her former childhood friend and so called auntie. The atmosphere at home changed drastically and she purposedly makes it even more painful by throwing mocking remarks here and there and her rebelious attitude. Deep in her heart Sun Je's lost and lonely but she choses to run away from her problems. She isn't a loner but at school she doesn't have many friends since Hye Mi made her bad reputation and in reality Sun Je doesn't mind it. She doesn't want to have anything in common  with now step-sister anyway. To lighten herself up she found herself a job at caffee and got a barista certificate.

She enjoys working with clients since they're strangers with whom she can chat at ease without letting them know about her private life but at same time she's not as anonymous as in the internet. She works there on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays since 5 pm till 9pm and every seconds Saturdays from 10 am till 5 pm. She does everything to stay out of house. She gets up very early to avoid breakfast with her "family". She grabs something to eat on the way to school. She rarely eats healthy stuff for lunch or dinner because she doesn't have time to prepare it at home. She stays longer at school to get her homework done. Sometimes, if the shift is peaceful, she studies there and manager pretends that he doesn't see it. On days she doesn't have shift she takes her laptop and makes herself comfortable at cafe or if the weather is nice enough she sits in the park or next to the Han river and tries to chill.

She doesn't play violin anymore.

Half-Korean, Half-Chinese, born and raised in Guangzhou. Talented pianist, hard working, sensitive but also strong willed. Met her husband during her tour. She gave concert in Seoul and he felt in love with her at first sight. He asked her on a dinner and she agreed. After few months of dating and flying back and forth between South Korea and China she realized that she's pregnant and they decided to get married and settle down in Korea. She continued her career but slowed it down when Sun Je was born. They had happy and pleasent life. They grow very close to Kwon family and saw Tae Yoon as her best friend. After divorce she was devastated. She sensed before that something was wrong between her and her husband but she didn't wanted to admit that they weren't match made in heaven. She moved to China with Sun Je but she still was extremely hurt. Su Yin was loving mother but very strict when it came to studies and music. She wouldn't take no as an aswer. Sometimes she couldn't find mutual language with her daughter but Su Yin loved Sun Je with her full heart. She was as stubborn as her daughter. She wanted best for Sun Je but unfortunately died without telling her how much she loved her.

   — father / Hwang, Sung Woo / 41 / open-minded, freedom-seeker, stubborn, intelligent, creative, insensitive

Korean, born and raised in Seoul. Only child of a wealthy couple. He is very intelligent man, open-minded and creative but slightly insensitive when it comes to other people. He was struck, when first saw Haruka, so splendid and goddess-like. After few months of dating they got married and created happy family for first few years. But their personalities weren't matched, habits started to irritate each ither and he was craving for freedom and felt in love in his daughter's best friend's mother. They kept their relation in secret but when Haruka found out about it he didn't even try to save his marriage. Also very stubborn, couldn't understand the hatred that his daughter felt towards him and insted of trying to win her back he decided to give her time so she would "mature to his decision of choosing different path for himself". He tries to resurrect the father-daughter bond but fails miserably. Remarried with Kwon Tae Yoon

FRIENDS

internet friend / TwinkleStar / --- / easy-going, curious, humorous, canny

One of the very few e-friend that Sun Je keeps touch with. She doesn't know whetever it's a boy or a girl but for sure is from China since they use this langauge to talk. Both of them enjoy their daily talks about important an unimportant stuff. Sometime they talk about the weather and other time about climate change and ecological catasrophies. She haven't told TwinkleStar about her family and past but she thinks of their talks very fondly. They helped her keep her sanity at worst moments.

warden like figure, manager at cafe / Lee Dong Chan / 27 / caring, serious, conciliatory, friendly, protective

Self-proclaimed saviour and warden of Sun Je. He sees a younger sister in her. Dong Chan was the one to introduce her to beauty of coffee and also taught her most of his knowlegde. He knows that she must have been hurt in past but he never asked her any questions about it. Is always there for her to talk or just to give her heartwarming smile. He knows it's not much but he made it clear several times that if she'd need someone to talk to or just to sit silently with he'll be there for her. There's no physical attraction between them, he just finds her cute and adorable and hates the sad look that shows on her faces when she thinks no one is looking.

OTHERS

regular guest at cafe / Boo, Seung Kwan / 17 / Charming, vivid, out-going, loud, dodgy, good observator

He passes by the cafe almost everyday, especially on days when Sun Je has got her shift. He's just a noisy customer that enjoys chats with her. She finds him amusing and doesn't realize they're in same high school. Being as ubiquitous as he claims to be, Seung Kwan is aware of the fact that they're school mates but never mentioned it. He knows that she has got bad reputation at school but don't understand why since she seems like a interesting character with her witty remarks and unique look.

studying mate / Chwe, Hansol / 17 / charismatic, sassy, confident, smartass,

He often works in school library due to constant detentions he gets for listening to music during lessons. He often saw Sun Je doing her homework and when one day he noticed her struggling with English he helped her. When in doubt or when having a problem with expressing herself in English Sun Je always texts him. He only speaks or texts to her in English. At first she was irritated with it but now she sees pros of it. Just as Seung Kwan he doesn't understand where did her reputation and aura came from. She isn't the nicest girl in school and she's far from being girly, bubbly teenager but in his eyes Sun Je is fun to deal with, intelligent girl and she could be really popular if she wanted to. They rarely interract at school, only in library and sometimes  via chat.

          — former friend/step sister / Kwon, Hye Mi / 19 / bashful, pretty, popular, huffy and sometimes mean

Sun Je's childhood friend. Their friendship was partly forced due to their parents bond. They had many things in common but their personalities just didn't work together well. When everybody found out about the affair Sun Je was really mean towards her. She let Hye Mi know how badly she hated her mother every single day. After all those years Hye Mi grew strong hatred towards Sun Je. Mutual of course. When she found out that her step-sister will live with them she was devastated. She promised herself that she'll make everything to destroy her life here as Sun Je destroyed hers in the past. She spread mean opinions about her and added fuel to the fire when Sun Je enrolled to her school. Hwang girl doesn't mind it though. She knows she behaved like a to her but just doesn't care enough to apologize or to bother herself with the rumors. Now they try to stay out of each others way but the rumour that once was spread across school never dies.

— former auntie/step mother / Hwang (former Kwon), Tae Yoon / 43 / artful, full of aegyo, impressionable

Former best friend of Su Yin, Sun Je's mother. She divorced with her first husband when Hye Mi was only five years old. He cheated on her. When her daughter enrolled into same school as Sun Je, she and Sun Je's parents soon befriended each other. At first it was normal relations with them helping each other and spending good time together. But she felt lonely and Sung Woo was always there to help. She needed someone strong to take care of her and he was craving for someone submissive who he could protect. Their romance lasted for a whole year before Su Yin discovered everything. She chose her own good over her friends marriage. When Sung Woo got a divorce with Su Yin they continued their relation and got married in 2013. She doesn't know how to behave with Sun Je, so she tries the positive approach. She didn't said that out loud but she would prefare Sun Je to not live with them although she knows how important it is for Sung Woo.

SURELY YOU HAVE THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE...

FIRST MEETING  Nothing extraordinary. Of course he saw her first, since she was the unfamous transfer student. It's not like he cared but it's hard to not hear rumours when whole school lives by them. It was hard to miss her since at first she still had her hair dyed white. He admitted that she was unique in her looks and had weird aura around her but they had nothing in common so soon he forgot about so called "scary and pretentious transfer student". She probably saw him few times in school corridors but never gave him her full attention before that one day when heard him playing the piano in the music room.

It was a really bad day for her and she just couldn't focus on maintainig her straight face anymore. She desperately needed to get out of the building, get rid of the uniform and just scream on top of her lungs. She still liked classical music so when she heard the melody she just sat under outside of the classroom and drowned in thoughts while the music calmed her down a bit. She just stayed there still and let her mind fly for a while. She didn't realize that the music stopped playing so she was genuily scared when suddenly someone waved a hand in front of her eyes. It was Junhui who left the room and saw Sun Je, without her usual scary aura, sitting on the floor, looking so fragile and soft.

Look she gave him was full of sorrow and pain that she wasn't able to hide quick enough. Before either of them could say something they heard Hansol screaming Junhui's name. She quickly stood up and without saying a word she left him dumbfounded. When Hansol reached him, he asked him question about Sun Je. Junhui didn't even knew her name before but he grew some interests on her. He asked Hansol, and later also Seungkwan, about her and grew more and more interested.

RELATIONSHIP  Junhui quickly realises that two of his friend more or less know Sun Je. He's very patient so he slowly gets to know her. Several times he tagged along with Seungkwan to the cafe, he also decided to "help" Hansol with his library duty once or twice. He rarely made on move though. Normally he would simply let Seungkwan do the talking or Hansol teach her English. She was curious why this guy followed her but didn't ask because she didn't want him to ask questions about their first meeting either.

While some people were seriously doubting his sanity for following the "smartass, mean student" he did enjoy time spent with her. He learnt about her witty and blunt personality but still couldn't understand why she behaved so weirdly that one day in front of music room. Eventually he did start conversation with her one day. She was perplexed at first but soon she showed her usual "for clients" self. She's witty as always and as time goes by they talk more and more loosely. There is major change when Junhui get Dong Chan to let him play the un used piano that stands as a decoration in the cafe. He asked Sun Je about it few times but she avoided the topic. With Dong Chan permission he gets one of his friends to help him tune it (Jihoon, who else? <3) without Sun Je knowlegde. At first Sun Je was shocked. The melodygot her out of blue and she accidentally dropped few plates. His play reminded her about hard times. She couldn't concentrate that day at all. He slowly gets her to open up more. He knew from the start that she's not as impassive as she wants to look like. He plays the piano from time to time at the cafe and Sun Je is getting used to that and even anticipating those occassion.

Junhui initiates conversations in Chinese whenever he wants to talk about something cheesy and she's always reay to follow the topic. He also starts leaving her cheesy notes on napkins when he leaves cafe. They often sneak out for night walks or to drink beer next to Han river. They visit pubs or clubs together from time to time but only when Junhui sees that Sun Je needs place to realease her energy and then, much later at night she opens up step by step.

This is classic story of boy helping girl he has got interest it to open up and bloom. Nothing is rushed, it takes them a pretty long time to really get comfortable around each other and since she has got trouble with skinship Junhui also doesn't rush with initiating other things. The milestone happens when she lets him into her room. The "family" is gone for the weekend. At first she only wanted to grab warmer clothes and head for a night walk with him but since he's peeping and curious as hell he sneaks to her room. She asks him if he wanted to peep at her since she was changing cloths but he is astonished by her room. There are Christmas lights that are hanged around room and many photos glued to the wall. He doesn't even notice her partly visible body but looks around her room completely dazed. He asks her many questions about stuff he sees and she replies to every one of them, somehow not uncomfortable with someone being in her room. He also notices the violin but when asked Sun Je only shrugs her shoulder and drags him out of them room. He always notices small changes about her mood and also noticed it at that moment. He starts to ask her more about violin and music. She finally gaves up and at one moment of their relationship she plays for him. It's the most saddening melody he have ever heard and they both end up crying. He caresses her cheek slowly and they kiss for the very first time. They spent whole night tightly hugged to each other not talking but feeling mentally closer than ever before.

Dong Chan is quite protective at first. He doesn't want her getting hurt though it looks like if he had some deeper feelings for her which he doesn't have. Sun Je "family" doesn't realize anything and girl doesn't want them to know. Hansol and Seung Kwan are a bit suprised at first, especially when Junhui starts asking many questions about her. In general they keep their love-hate relationship for themself until it becomes something more serious.

CONCLUSION  Witty and cheesy love. Even before graduation she moves out thanks to saved up money, first to live with Dong Chan/Twinkle Star(if he/she'll be introduced) but after enrolling to university she finally moves in with Junhui. They share lots of make-out session on the couch, in the kitchen and sometimes in the lift. They never use pet names other than Peter and Wendy. They support each other in daily life, study together till late hours, holds movie marathon every two weeks with few popcorn boxes and bottle of wine. They show their love to each other through small gestures such as sharing earphones on the way, leaving post-it notes everywhere around the house and eating at least one meal a day together. Even though they don't say it straigh-forwardly their conversation are often full of hidden messages which basically means "I love you". He made her open up a bit and thanks to help of her friends she was able to accept her feelings. She forgave herself for being bad daughter though she still think about her mum everyday but now not with sorrow but with smile on her lips.

And this little thing kinds of summarize adorable and buddy like relationship they share:

 last call。

THIS IS WHERE WE PART WAYS...

FAMOUS LAST WORDS They have to be cool af so I'll be remembered well but I think this story speaks for itself! It's it
nice when your work speaks for itself? I do hope my work is good enough to do it!

Oh, and I'm sorry for slightly changing the given plot line! But I thought about duet consisting of piano and violin, Jun and
Sun, Wendy and Peter and isn't it lovely idea~?  Also violin is easy to carry around and it could also lead to many great situations!

Oh, and I don't think that Sun Je and her dad would have any reconcilation. Yeah, they talk from time to time but it's more formal relation than a family bond.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS  Scene where Junhui and Sun Je have got a fight and as always Sun Je says too much wanting to hurt the latter but he sees through it and calls after her "hey you! Peter Pan complex brat" and he implies that he perfectly knows that she's just running away from problems and ghosts of her past. She doesn't want to listen to him and calls him Wendy in order to mock him but he agrees on his role as her mother. She is flustred for the first time in a very long time and leaves abruptly. It's beggining of Junhui thinking about her in different light. From that moment he realizes he would like their relation to head in specific direction.

At one point Sun Je was sure that Junhui is in reality her e-friend TwinkleStar but it turned out to be false. She finally had a serious talk with her friend and they learnt about each a lot. He turned out to be 18 years old boy from China. He realized he was gay few years prior and couldn't accept himself. His family and friens weren't supporting so he tried to change but it wasn't possible. He was lost and hurt when he met him. His addiction, his first love, his biggest mistake. This guy turned him into motionless marionette, ready to fulfill his every wish. It took TwinkleStar a very long time before he realized what really was going on. It was hard but he breakk off from him and tried to accept himself once again. They finally let the other one to their lives. It made them realize that both of them used this friendship to support themself without letting the other one know about it.

Junhui doesn't like coffee and Sun Je loves it so she takes challenge of introducing him to high quality, well-done coffee. They make a bet and it can led to many situations.

Some serious flirting in public place in Chinese since no one understand them.

Hwang is very similar to chinese word for yellow - Huang. Pronounciation is very similar. Just saying ;)
