friend : park sanghyun (박상현) / june 3, 1993 : 22 / relaxed, easygoing, witty / despite being in different subgroups, daho finds sanghyun to be one of the people that he can easily connect with for some reason. maybe it's because sanghyun is literally one of the chillest people daho has ever met, but they both share the love of bubble tea and go out together trying out bubble tea until they die, literally.

they don't talk to each other too much during promotions, but they both have a very special place in each other's heart as bubble tea buddies. however, daho will look away and roll his eyes once sanghyun starts dancing to girl group songs... again.

friend : kim mingyu (김민규) / april 6, 1997 : 18 / childish, confident, carefree / mingyu was younger than daho, but mingyu didn't know that at first glance. he noticed how the guy was so lonely there, watching and rehearsing and mingyu, being the hero he is
"good afternoon how do you do i'm kim mingyuuuuuu"

and then mingyu had to kind of rub onto daho without giving up, and somehow, daho finally accepted mingyu's presence. mingyu isn't that bad as he thought he was, he actually is just a toddler in a model's body, that's all.
friend : jeon wonwoo (전원우) / july 17, 1996 : 19 / shy, sensible, brooding / wonwoo kind of came along after daho met mingyu, since mingyu and wonwoo are the best friends #friendshipgoals. wonwoo and daho are indeed the voices of matter while they have a giant crazy dude in between them, so it's easy for them to get along, although they aren't like super close.
friend : joshua hong aka hong jisoo (홍지수) / december 30, 1995 : 20 / calm, reserved, warmhearted / when walking mingyu and wonwoo back to their dorms, one of seventeen's members (daho doesn't know who he is, but he was loud that's for sure) swung open the door, inspected daho's face at a very close proximity (daho stepped back a few steps) and ran back in like a madman. (hopefully he was that hyper due to coffee or late night practices).
"look guys!!!! he has an earring exactly like jisoo's!!!! it's also on the same ear!!!! oh my gosh guys they have couple earrings!!!!!!"
everyone inside the dorm stared at daho. he assumed that the one silently laughing and with the identical cross earring on his ear in the corner was jisoo, and yes, yes he was. that incident probably helped them remember each other's presences for a long time, for their short greetings like "hi" turned into longer conversations as daho hung out with mingyu and wonwoo. no matter how much it would make daho sound like a girl in love, jisoo is really one of the nicest and sweetest people he ever met although their encounter was really awkward. he's not in love with him, though. he's just one of the people that daho has a soft spot for. (i made this longer because exposition is important in this one lol)

daho always seemed to blush more and get more embarrassed when he was around the older, and he got teased and questioned by some of the members as time passes by a bit. daehoon toned down slightly when he was in front of daho, and daho felt like something was missing as they kind of drifted away from each other. daehoon had to watch daho from afar and fell in love with him as well, quieting down interactions, both too scared of what they felt. daho eventually confronted daehoon and tells him that it's okay to be upset about things and that if he needed help, he would be there for him.
their relationship improved incredibly, and daho got to meet daehoon's sister, minhee, talking to her using the broken sign language daehoon taught him when all was happy and peaceful. the two were falling in love with each other for real, and daho was feeling more frightened about what he felt and the man standing in front of him, strangely feeling scared of rejection. surprisingly, daehoon asked him to come into one of the practice rooms privately while daho was on instagram. thinking it would be a cheesy greeting to the fans, he recorded daehoon on his phone, just to see that daehoon was using sign language and his expression was very solemn. daho didn't post what he recorded, but he seemed to spot some key words as he watched the clip.
"love...serious...happy...sad...misunderstand...please."
it sounded like basic terms in love confessions, so daho asked daehoon who looked soulless.
"was this... a confession, maybe, or-"
"you don't know sign language too well; you probably read it wrong."
