Dear Readers, Thank You

Dear readers,

I will be extremely blunt to you today,

First of all, Merry Christmas. And yes, sorry that it is late, but still, I think it is only appropriate that I post this regardless of the timing now. 2015 is almost over, and what a great year it has been. This is the year I spent so much time crying for joy, anger and sadness. I got to experience such an emotional roller coaster that I am able to produce more ideas for new stories. As Lang Leav said, “not all writers are sad, but all sad people write”.

Second of all, this is the first thank you note for all my dearest readers, old and new, subscribers or commenters or both. To commence this, I have a promise to you: I will never put the tag restrictions for all of my stories, unless they somehow get plagiarized. You can freely access it anytime, though I do apologise that my profile is friend-only because I desperately need to avoid those wall-advertisers.

(Seriously, if any of you are advertisers, I will suggest in a not-so-gentle manner, do not advertise with me unless you are a close reader of mine. I hate it when people pop-up into my profile just to advertise.)

The reason why I am making such promise is because I have come to realize that I hate the subscribers-only tag on most of the stories I read. Of course, some authors, especially the featured ones, put on a subscribers-only, friends-only and members-only, to avoid getting their stories stolen unfairly. I understand and respect that. I also know some other authors put their stories on restrictions to gain more subscribers – I AM NOT JUDGING YOU, OKAY? DO NOT GET MAD AT ME. Seriously, I am not judging because I know how important it is to get your stories noticed (trust me, this is not a sarcasm. I really understand, it is your choice). Some of the stories with the subscriber-tag are really good, but sad to say, I unsubscribe to most of them after a few chapters.

No, I am not vain, nor am I proud of my stories. In fact, I do not, not at all. Another realization that slowly sinks into me is that while I love having more subscribers, I do want people to read and like my stories for what it is. I personally love writing, re-writing, reading and re-reading most of my stories, but that does not mean I am proud of them because I realize I have a lot of things to improve on. I cannot blame the flow of my stories on my limitation in English, but worry not, I am currently studying hard to make myself proud.

Another reason for that promise is because I know most, if not all of my subscribers are at least genuine. I welcome new readers, and albeit sad, I will not complain or whine about the loss of subscribers. So I am writing this note to thank you all for everything you have done for me all along since 2013, whether it is by subscribing, voting, commenting, or chatting me up online. As an author, I do not really mind silent readers, because at least, they read it.

Third of all, readers, you are truly the source of motivation and inspiration. I notice most of you, and I admit I do stalk sometimes, and I know some of you (like fantasy49, aozora, teuksoxyongshin and xoxo_88_kiss and many more) subscribe to more than one of my stories. So hey, you all, thanks a lot. I really appreciate it, and hold you all in high regards.

As a spoiler to those who read this post, I am currently juggling three stories at once; one-shot of 10.000 words SPIN-OFF for the Fallen trilogy with a certain Fallen, ADOLESCENCE, and a sci-fi near-future story. I am currently mapping out a historical-Chinese story for the ancient-drama lovers.

Let’s welcome 2016 with an even brighter note. Thanks people!

With much love,

XOXO

Zora

Omg this post is so important
Tbhi HIGHLY dislike the subscribers only option too
I dont see how it helps against plagarizing someone can literally just subscribe and still copy everything omg
