I don't understand why people has something against IU's comeback. To be honest with you, Twenty Three is a message to the haters.
A lot of haters are judging IU as a sly fox, but we fans know that IU is an innocent bear. Haters asks for IU to choose one, if she is just a sly fox or if she is an innocent bear. At her age (which is twenty three), IU is having a hard time choosing if she really is an innocent bear or sly fox.
"Pretend to be a fox that pretends to be a bear

That part is the proof of that.

Choose only one whatever it is"
Twenty Three is basically about choosing. If she rather fall in love or make money, if she's a bear or a sly fox, if she rather be a child forever or a moist woman, you can see all those riddles in the song. Like the song said in the beginning, answer the riddles. It's hard at first of you focus on the outside and the craziness of the music video, but try understanding the lyrics a little and you might just understand what it means.
On the other hand, I am so proud that IU is going to perform for the very first time~! Yehet~! ^_^
