Questions for people who live in England or know their way around it.

Hello!
As the tittle states I need some input from people who live or have lived or just know so much about England.
I know I can google much of this but I just want some first hand info from you awesome people.

So I think I just have a couple of questions:

1. If I want to hold a lavish party, much like a debute ball, what are the best places in London? When I say lavish, I mean , no limit budget.. :D
2. Is hunting of animals, like quail, deer or foxes still allowed in england? If yes are there specific areas? Is it restricted to certain areas only?
3. If I want to build an isolated cabin, what's the best area?

so far those are my questions.

2. you can do it in forests and woods etc unless it's private, and you can't do it without a licence (you need a licence for fishing too). Hunting with dogs is illegal, but using guns to hunt aren't (I think? you may need to consult google on that one).

3. uh well, isolated cabins are nice. I'm not sure if they can be isolated though, it's a bit crowded over here, but it's probably possible xD. Also, the majority of forests (where it would've been good to build a cabin, especially an isolated one) have been turned into nature reserves. But since it's for fanfiction, you could break that rule? I'll give you a few anyway (I think they're all nature reserves now):

Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire - have you heard of the legend of robin hood? this forest is associated with that. It's part of an older and much larger royal hunting forest, and it's well known because it's the home of the Major Oak, which is a really large oak tree, which according to folklore was the hideout of robin hood. Sherwood forest would be really good for a fanfiction (especially with the legend of robin hood surrounding it). But I hope you wouldn't mind twisting the rules, since the forest is a very important site in england and so is a nature reserve.

Wistman's Wood in Devon - also currently a nature reserve, sorry xD. It's not as big as sherwood, but it has its points. I know less about this one, but there are also legends surrounding this one. 'Wistman' comes from 'wisht' which is from a dialect word meaning 'pixie-led' and 'haunted'. Hellhounds are also associated with it (they're used in stories to usually foreshadow something bad will happen as hellhounds are sort like omens for death).

lol I got carried away, I'm not even sure if that was what you wanted xD. But yes, both would be good areas to build an isolated cabin. I'm not sure about places in London where you could hold a debute ball though, sorry.

Wow, I just realised how little I actually know of england xD.

For the second question, it really depends on what you're hunting, since specific species are protected. However in most places hunting is not allowed unless it's like on private property or something.
