I have gotten more interested in BTS because of their mysterious concepts and how there is a theory that connects everything together since the I Need U era. (READ HERE to know more) I am super excited for their comeback because I wanna know more about these theories. With the teasers being uploaded, me, Pika (YoTaeHee), and Seong Yeon (SiiNii) has taken it upon ourselves to try and crack some codes. Or basically try to intepret things. It might not be true and maybe we are overanalyzing, but it seems quite legit?

One sentence summary of previous theories: Everyone is dead except for Jin.

However, there is one scene where we see Jin sitting inside his car, surrounded by water. The theory from the blog I linked suggests that he is trying to kill himself.



On the individual teasers uploaded on their official Facebook page, something is suspicious about the way they caption some of the normal looking words: "youth," "Butterfly," "DREAM." Only DREAM is emphasized in all capital letters. Why?



At the beginning of their Never Mind teaser video, we see the butterfly logo. Notice how the bottom part is shaped like the graphs you see in the heart rate monitors in hospitals. This leads us to believe that Jin did try to kill himself, but failed, and ended up in a coma. Everything from now on will merely be fragments of his DREAM. 

Butterflies symbolizes "death or rebirth after death. In fact, some believe that these beautiful creatures represent the souls of those who have recently departed from this mortal world." The butterfly could be a representation of his deceased friends (the other BTS members).

We think the guy running in the Never Mind teaser video is Jin, and he is trying to pursue the butterfly/his friends. Notice how he plays basket all alone by himself in dark somber colors, but as soon as he tries to catch the butterfly, everything becomes colorful. Like he is happy when he isn't alone. But the colors are very vibrant, crazy, and has disorganized visuals, kinda like how a mentally unstable patient would see it.

The visuals might look pretty at first, but they are actually a representation of how the other members died in the I Need U MV. We see a lake/ocean where V jumped off from. Then the guy is running through the city/road where J-Hope died from overdose. And we see a car passing by, which is how Jungkook died since he got hit. Then there is another water scene with chains, because Jimin was trapped and drowned in his bathtub. The room we suspect is Suga's room where he died as he set it on fire. Then we have the money and all the smoke to represent Rap Monster throwing money and burning cars resulting in his death..? (I'm not so sure about this one XD) But my friend says it looks like a person was on fire during that smokey scene.




They uploaded this video on Facebook with the caption "Let's run to see Kookie~" along with an icon of the spade. If Kookie is indeed one of the butterflies, it makes sense why the guy was running to chase after his friend. The spade itself is interesting. As a symbol it represents the "cosmic tree" and thus life. But in Tarot cards, spade symbolizes death. Spade represents both life and death, just like the symbolism of a butterfly. Therefore, they are dead, but Jin might be trapped in a false reality thinking they are still alive. 

In the same mv teaser, we see 11 mics hanging upside down. The number eleven symbolizes:

• Enter into an open space of conscious awareness 
• Realign, reaffirm, re-establish (re-balance) ourselves

Jimin has the "DREAM" caption and we see him wearing a shirt with horizontal lines. In dreams, lines are intepreted as marking the boundary, or bringing balance. 

The theme of this comeback might be about Jin who still lives in delusion, thinking his friends are alive, while in fact, it is time for him to move on and return to reality. It is time for him to accept that they are all gone and that he has to let go of them. He needs to draw a clear line of boundary between the death and the living. See how in the individual videos, everyone looks happy and are waving? All except for Jin who neither waves back nor smiles.

They are all saying farewell to Jin, but he is unable to let go of them.

Now, these may not even be true and are a part of our overactive imagination and from watching too much Running Man perhaps, but they pretty much make sense to us. Even if it doesn't, we had fun trying to come up with these conclusions.
