Editor/Graphic Designer

Hellu every squishy marshmallow out there c:
I'm in that phase of life where I have to decide what I wanna do when I "grow up". I'm almost 18, and I still have no idea. Well, all I know is that I wanna travel and try out different things.
I only got an idea! Only one, but it's still an idea, no matter if it will fail or not. Why not be an editor? 1. I love reading books when I have the time. 2. I'll get to read books before they are released and be able to recommend them to others!
Blah Blah Blah I decided that maybe I can start out small here on aff first and help fanfic authors edit their fanfics :) I love helping others so it would be like hitting two flies in one hit. I just need to gather the courage and ask different authors if they want my help editing out grammar and spelling errors xd Please wish me luck!

What about becoming a freelance graphic designer, if you like design work? Like, professionally. You could also become a freelance copywriter too, so you would have customers coming to you and saying they wanted some copy (the professional term for a piece of written information that would go into a booklet or a website or something, which is why you would be called a "copywriter" - you write copy) written about a certain topic or for their business, you could research it and write maybe 1000 words for it. You could charge something like €50 per page, maybe more. And for graphic design work? That's even higher. You could have a store on here (if you don't already) where you sell design pieces, recruit some other designers, beta readers, etc and run your store on here. If you do this, however, you have to consider how this will affect any future careers ...

... as in, you can use this on your resume. You can say you have experience in running your own business, managing a group of people from different backgrounds to produce creative pieces and complete assignments to client briefs within a set timeframe, you have experience in marketing businesses online, etc etc ... really, a store on here is your own business, and I'm so amazed how few people take it seriously and think how it can impact their future. The skills you learn in running a store on AFF easily and readily come into a career path.
