What I write....

A little about what I write. I like to write about issues that may  face many of us once in our lives. Whether, it be drugs, violence or other social issues. It doesn't matter if the story is about vampires or assassins, I think there should be a certain amount of reality. Writers, like artists, create a world for others to enjoy. With each brush the artist creates a visual world for the viewer, just as the writer creates a new world with every word.

With that being said, I just want to say that even though my stories involve these harsh realities happening to my favorite idols. It does not mean I dislike these idols. When i cast an idol for a role in one of my stories, it's because they visually fit the part. I can envision SeungHo as a sword wielding hit man and Se7en being the devoted best friend who is a hopeless romantic with a sharp tongue like in Tattoo. I can see 2pm as some bad vampire death squad working undercover trying to preserve a social balance like in Blood Type: V.

The best example is No MinWoo (Rose from the traxx) I first saw him in the drama MY GIRLFRIEND IS A NINE TAILED FOX. Instantly I envisioned him as a vampire. He carried an Air of mystery and refinement usually found in vampire stories. Other than that feeling alone I got from him while watching the show, I really know nothing about him.

The idols i cast as bad guys are actually some of my FAVORITE idols. I love SooHyun from U-KISS and JongHyun from SHINee. However, I wrote them as men with demons he must conquer. Leejoon is another bias of mine, but in Tattoo, I wrote him as a complete douche bag.

My stories are not meant to offend anyone, nor are they personal attacks on any idols. I prefer to write in the context of them not being idols. Just ordinary people living in an 'ordinary' world under extraordinary circumstances. I feel mixing the ordinary struggles of everyday life with the extraordinary world I've created creates an exciting blend of fantasy and realism.

My leading ladies, overall, are strong and independent. Mika (Tattoo), is older and confident in her abilities, where Shai (Blood Type: V) Is younger and although inexperienced and learning, is still strong willed. They both experience heartbreak and loss, but instead of crying for days about it, they find a way to adapt in the face of tragedy to push themselves through the pain. I think as a woman it is important for me to read about women who are strong and capable. I know we all love the fairy tales of the happily ever after, but those fairy tales are just that, fantasy.

Thank you for reading this blog, and for supporting my work. If you're reading Blood Type: V please look forward to chapter 9. If you haven't read Tattoo, please check it out!
