· jinhyeon is a type of person that is very rare, but he makes sure to leave his mark on the world. though soft-spoken, he has strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea that he believes in. he is decisive and strong-willed, but will rarely use that energy for personal gain – he will act with creativity, imagination, conviction and sensitivity not to create advantage, but to create balance. egalitarianism and karma are very attractive ideas to jinhyeon, and he tends to believe that nothing would help the world so much as using love and compassion to soften the hearts of tyrants. jinhyeon finds it easy to make connections with others, and has a talent for warm, sensitive language, speaking in human terms, rather than with pure logic and fact. it makes sense that his friends will come to think of him as a quiet extroverted type, but they would all do well to remember that he does need time alone to decompress and recharge, and to not become too alarmed when he suddenly withdrawn. he takes great care of other's feelings, and he expects the favor to be returned – sometimes that means giving him the space he needs for a few days. really though, it is most important for jinhyeon to remember to take care of himself. the passion of his convictions are perfectly capable of carrying him past his breaking point and if his zeal gets out of hand, he finds himself exhausted, unhealthy and stressed. this becomes especially apparent when he finds himself up against conflict and criticism – his sensitivity forces him to do everything they can to evade these seemingly personal attacks, but when the circumstances are unavoidable, he will fight back in highly irrational, unhelpful ways. jinhyeon just needs to remember that while he is busy taking care of everyone, he needs to take care of himself, too.

· jinhyeon had a normal life. he had loving parents and an adorable little sister to
· jinhyeon's hard life started when he began high school. it was a new school, as most of his friends went to another high school. he was pretty alone, but that was until he met mingyu. it was purely coincidence when jinhyeon ran into his hyung on his way to class, not wanting to be late. jinhyeon was beyond scared, thinking this scary hyung was gonna yell at him. instead, mingyu ruffled his hair and gave the little boy a soft smile before helping him pick up his papers. that day was when jinhyeon made his first friend at this new high school. mingyu was so nice to him even though he didn't have to, jinhyeon wouldn't get mad if his hyung was meaner to him, but it never came. even when mingyu's older friends would be near them, mingyu would command his friends not to mess with him. of course jinhyeon took whatever he got, since befriending mingyu made everyone else run away from him. at first, it confused jinhyeon, but shook it off. he had mingyu and his friends, he really didn't need anybody else.
· the first half of school went on like that. during the second half, mingyu was started to get more touchy with jinhyeon. jinhyeon didn't think nothing of it, since mingyu was usually touchy with him. although, the touching got worse whenever they were alone. like if they were suddenly eating lunch together cause mingyu's friends got in trouble. mingyu would sit next to him and sometimes he even pulled jinhyeon into his lap, proceeding to feed him like a little kid. that was when jinhyeon started to understand what mingyu was getting at. he ended up confessing to his parents (leaving out mingyu's name of course) and was ultimately glad that his parents didn't mind his uality at all. his mother even seemed to be delighted (apparently her best friend was gay and she kinda always dreamed of having a gay child). feeling more comfortable with his mother, she educated him about gay relationships and the like. the conversation gave jinhyeon the confidence to go up to mingyu and confess his budding crush on his hyung. he was beyond happy when mingyu accepted his confession, never thinking he would have such a cute boyfriend at his age. soon enough, their relationship became known to students. of course they didn't bother mingyu, but everyone tend to stay away from jinhyeon even more. because of everyone pretty much turning their backs on him, he became dependent on his hyung. the last thing he wanted was to lose mingyu too. he even followed mingyu to pledis entertainment, dreaming of being on stage along with mingyu one day.
· things started to take a turn the next year. mingyu was becoming more distant with him and not liking the way he clinged to him, but that was just the start. soon enough, mingyu didn't even want jinhyeon being around him. afraid of losing his love and only friend, he begged to mingyu. he didn't want him to leave him, he had no one else. he would do anything to keep mingyu next to him. that's when the beatings started. it was just playful pushes, but soon the pushes escalated to punches and kicks. not realizing this wasn't right, jinhyeon took every punch with all his strength. he lied about his bruises when he got home, telling his parents that he was just being really clumsy these days. seeing as jinhyeon's personality didn't really change, they took in his lie like it was the truth.
· then the punches weren't enough. mingyu wanted more, to see jinhyeon broken. each day he would break the boy down, soon enough finally taking the boy's ity by force. jinhyeon didn't know what was then, so he was just scared. of course, mingyu apologised for his rough actions and showered jinhyeon in gifts. thinking nothing much of it, jinhyeon accepted the gifts and believed that mingyu was just angry that day or wasn't feeling well. months passed by and jinhyeon noticed that mingyu wasn't changing. in reality, mingyu's insults were cutting deeper and his hands were leaving darker and bigger bruises.
· thinking he could get away from mingyu without facing him, jinhyeon left pledis and transferred over to a smaller entertainment company. though, jinhyeon shouldn't of hoped he could get away from mingyu. mingyu was always there after classes and practices with no where to run. jinhyeon was living a walking nightmare and he could do nothing about it. especially now since mingyu has now debuted with seventeen. if he even tried, no one would believe him anyway.

· like a diary, jinhyeon owns a journal where he writes down what happens every day. it helps keeping himself sane from his abusive boyfriend. this is his most treasured item, no one is allowed to open or read it.
· owns a collection of different kinds of makeup items ranging from etude house to even american brands.
· he is an expert makeup artist. he learned it to hide the bruises and scars from people's eyes.
· jinhyeon's eyesight isn't perfect. he wears contacts usually, but sometimes he is too tired so he just uses his spare glasses.
· jinhyeon is extremely self conscious of his body thanks to mingyu making fun of his body.
· he is rather underweight and could be considered borderline anorexic because he hardly eats.
· when he cooks, he is the last one to eat cause he wants to make sure everyone has food.
· he has a bad habit of chewing his nails, a habit that revealed itself when he started dating mingyu.
· in junior high, jinhyeon's school had an exchange student from america. the american girl didn't know about mingyu's reputation and not a lot about korean culture. so jinhyeon found himself with his hands full of a sweet american girl. even after she returned to america, jinhyeon is still in contact with rosetta. they skype on occasions.
· rosetta is the only one who jinhyeon has told personally about his abusive boyfriend. rosetta can't do much since she's still in america and jinhyeon is the only person from korea that she still talks to. the american girl just wants to fly right to south korea and beat the out of mingyu for ever hurting her precious baby jinhyeon. she's sort of like a surrogate mother to jinhyeon.
· jinhyeon met wonseok when he transferred to izumi entertainment, watching the other trying to flirt with the noona instructors. jinhyeon has not told wonseok about him being abused, but wonseok knows an abusive relationship when he sees one. wonseok's older sister apparently commited suicide when he was younger because of her abusive boyfriend. he secretly tries to help jinhyeon, but it's hard when jinhyeon still tries to protect mingyu. that and the fact that mingyu is so popular thanks to debuting.
· jinhyeon introduced wonseok to rosetta and let's just say, wonseok is definitely smittened with the american girl's charms. matchmaker jinhyeon to the rescue!
· rosetta plans to make a trip to korea again with her family, so she can confront mingyu. though, her family isn't well off. she was sponsered for the exchange student program, so no money was really needed for that. rosetta's family knows all about jinhyeon's relationship too. her whole family is saving up money for that trip to korea to save jinhyeon before he hurts himself.
· even though he will deny it, jinhyeon does self harm. it's not as bad as some people, but he still does it. he cuts his inner thighs and upper arms, places where it easier for him to cover with clothes and makeup. he is also extremely clumsy, that some people think he does it on purpose to get hurt that way too.
· his favorite kdrama of all time is it's okay, it's love starring do kyungsoo. he's also a really big kyungsoo fanboy. if he ever meets kyungsoo, he'll probably faint or cry.
· anime is an indulgence of his. he has an obsession with shojo animes. his top five shoujo animes are sailor moon, shugo chara, kaleido star, revolutionary girl utena, and pretear. don't mess with his shoujo anime.
· his favorite girl group is red velvet. he is a real big joy fanboy. he knows the choreography to ice cream cake by heart.
· ocd about cleanliness. he needs to take at least two showers a day and clean out the dorms once. because of mingyu's abuse, he wants to keep himself as clean as he can. he usually scrubs himself bright red during his showers.
· rosetta convinced jinhyeon into buying a pet to keep him company whenever she couldn't talk or wonseok is out flirting his life away. so jinhyeon owns a leopard gecko named mango. jinhyeon tells mango about everything. whenever he is in the dorms, jinhyeon will let mango out and she'll just sleep in the crook of his neck for hours. don't mess with mango. she may be small, but she can still bite.
· wonseok's family is really rich and he really has no idea what to do with all the money. he tends to use it on noonas or making sure to keep jinhyeon fed.
· used to be a big fan of nu'est, but he practically avoids them like the plague. baekho actually witnessed mingyu almost jinhyeon once and he didn't do anything about it, he even gave jinhyeon disgusted looks. it also seemed that he told s about what he saw, cause they often and joined in with mingyu's friends with the disgusted looks. as you can see, jinhyeon doesn't really care for nu'est anymore.
· because his parents are usually busy with the hospital, he spends a lot of time with his little sister. he avoids the topic of mingyu when with his sister, but hana knows something is up with her brother's relationship. she doesn't believe his stories about his bruises either, usually scoffing when he talks about his bruises.
· even though hana is only thirteen, she has a natural talent for soccer. she dreams to be a professional soccer player or coach one day. jinhyeon is her number one fan.
· dreams of being on a show based on little children, like hello baby or superman is back. he is a natural with babies, they all love his quiet and sensitive nature.
