Cliche Storylines

Does nobody ever do research before they put some crap story out there?

I mean, when it first started, it was obviously okay because it was original. But now it's not.

In fact, it started with Boys Over Flowers. So don't even say you're original.

Now for the most part there are probably 6 different types of fics on AFF.

1. Nerd falls in love with a Kingka

2. Some with gangsters

3. The main girl is related to an idol and for some reason she must live with the idol's band even though it's perfectly reasonable that she get a goddamn place of her own.

4. The group magically become her boyfriends through robotic means and bend to her every whim.

5. Girl becomes orphan through tragic death and through some last wish is able to meet some idol group so she won't be lonely.

6. Girl cross dresses and blends in to an idol group even though CLEARLY the idols are smart enough to detect something off. Are you calling your idols stupid and unable to differentiate between the es?

Typical Female Lead

The ugly nerd/orphan who everybody makes fun of but is really very pretty and kind to everybody. Girls aren't all flowers and fluffy bunnies. happens. Girls are mean. There isn't one girl on earth who hasn't ed about something. Don't even deny it.

Disclaimer

Don't say the plot is totally original and is in all sense yours. It is not. You may think you have thought up the whole thing in your mind, but you didn't. Similarities to other work is coincidential? My .

THE GODDAMN FONT

Rainbows belong in the sky okay? OKAY? If your entire story is in bright pastel pink then change it. Black. Black is classy. Black is easy to read. Do you know what's not easy to read? Shit like this in COMIC SANS.

Check the list. Does it sound familiar?

If so, I suggest you revise your story. Immediately.

I recommend you all to this fantastic sites

Personally. I'm currently writing a story with gangs. I understand it's a bit cliche. But, I think I generally cliche plotline can be made unique, and a sophisticated storyline can be formulated. It's just the matter of the skill of the author.

OMG. Finally someone who agrees. Especially 1, 2, and 5. Every fanfic I click on has that one of those plots -___- People nowadays really can't think of better storylines..
