All right, I've been contemplating to do this for a while now.

It's been five years (give or take) since I first started reading fics on winglin & aff. So to say, I stumbled upon many interesting stories, some of which succeeded in touching my almost non-existing heart. Somehow I really feel like sharing these exceptional stories to people (or at least my aff friends), just to let them know there are really awesome fics out there that are worth the read. And of course to show my appreciation towards the authors.

I'm not saying others fics are not good enough. These fics that made it on my list are those that went past the cliche storyline border. Past my somewhat high expectation bar. I love how some of the authors started up with a cliche plot as a base of their story, but managed to cast the fic(s) into complete magic. hashtagexaggeration

1. Rhapsody - kissBea2play

This author was previously known as usagichan on winglin. Yes, I read the fic back there. Literally the most interesting Yoochun fic I've read, if you're into db5k or JYJ or just Park Yoochun (opinions may differ). Check it out especially if you're into high school & gang & arranged marriage themed fics.

2. Bound - kissBea2play /unavailable

Unfortunately you won't be able to check this Yunho fic out since the author took it down or something so it's currently unavailable. Basically it's about this woman who worked as an (not in a context), who had db5k as her clients. I really like how wasn't involved in the story, regardless of the thing.

3. True Beauty - Aishmin

Perhaps a lot of you have heard of this EXO fic, as the author managed to turn this story into a published novel, which was very fortunate of her (congrats!). Really a one-of-a-kind fic with one of the most heartwrenching stories, I'm not even kidding. The plot completely overlooked possibilities that slave themed fics tend to adopt.

4. Pull Me Under - misstressdean

This oneshot is related to Royally Screwed, although you don't have to read the latter to understand the story. Very well-written, enough said.

5. 15:01 - London - cutterpillow

The most heartwrenching oneshot I've read. Not joking. Okay, you're tired of EXO fics. Whatever. Read this oneshot and tell me it doesn't move you. For one, it made me contemplate on my horrible writing skills.

6. Royally Screwed - misstressdean

The author probably started with the high school theme in mind, as many other fics did. The plot, though, the plot... I can't describe it in words. This was the first EXO fic I read. Simply put, my expectation of fics blew after reading this. I have not read a single story with character development as well as this. Oh how will I ever write like that?

7. Overdose - YHyunah

Super angst fic. I'm probably a sadist/masochist (still dwelling in between) so I find this fic very very interesting. I'm never up for stupid, fluffy love stories so this is just my thing. I can't say more, you just have to read it.

8. The Blood Brother Code - Korekrypta

Whoa. Whoa. The only Xiumin fic I've read and hands ing up. It went through my gang fic expectations at full speed. My bar's been raised and I've become more picky thanks to this fic. 10/10 plot and 10/10 writing style. Why can't I write this well?

Try checking them out and see what I mean. At times I'm just really over mere or simple-plotted fics. Most of the times I'm hunting for fics with extraordinary writing styles. These kind of fics are the ones keeping me on the lookout. My opinion does not represent anyone other than myself so it may be that I'm exaggerating and you won't like the fics as much as I do. But yeah.
