Opinion help please?

What would be a more interesting story to read: a wounded soldier who can't remember which side he's on, a kidnapped human cult sacrifice trying to escape with his legs cut off, or a paralyzed victim trying to put together his memories before he rots away on a hospital bed?

the first one. the second one sounds possible but i'd find it more annoying reading so much of a struggle for an amputee(??)
