I really don't get the users who message me to check out their fics. It's not even once or twice. And it's not even like the fic has very little subscribers. I'm saying those fics who has 800+ subscribers. Just...why? 

My take on fic is that I write what I want to write how I want to write. If people like it, they will read it and subscribe if they want a continuation, if not, move on with life. But no, some people just go 'you're Wu Yifan's fan, right right? Here, check out my fic, it's good, I won't disappoint' 

Don't get me wrong. I do check out fics when they are presented to me in my inbox. The problem is that they are subscribers-only... Why lock when you want people to check out the fic? I don't get it. I'm tired of messages like that. 

I do have some of my fics locked to subscribers but that's because I do not want underage people to get exposed to sensitive, morally incorrect ideas. Otherwise my fics are unlocked. 

But seriously, if you want more people to subscribe to you, write the story well instead of spamming someone's inbox to get subscribers. 

Do you write fic because you want popularity in the fanfic community or do you write fic because you enjoy writing and crafting stories?
