Tips on how to make our lives here in AFF easier

1. READ THE FAQ. Scroll down. Also, you might want to read the CONTENT GUIDELINES and TERMS OF USE.

2. READ AFFHELPER'S FAQ. It's written in their Personal Message section.

3. READ KEEPER'S GUIDE FOR NEWBIES.

4. AFFHELPER hasn't logged in for almost two months now so if you're encountering technical problems or glitches, try CLEARING YOUR BROWSER CACHE first. It helps if you installed an anti-virus software. I use AVG.

5. If #4 didn't work, file a report. READ AND FOLLOW THE FORMAT IN AFF HELPER'S Personal Message section. Yes, you need to be as detailed as possible.

6. If you want to know if you're the only one who cannot access AFF, go here and paste this: http://www.asianfanfics.com/

7. When you come across a page that says: "Sorry, there is an error in this request or this page is no longer available! ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ", instead of asking people what happened, just read some more until you reach this line: "Check to see if this content was removed by the community in the User Reports section." Click User Reports.

8. Likewise, if an author tells you that his/her story has been reported and the unfairness of it all, please find out what the report is actually about before making mindless comments such as "Haters gonna hate" and accusing users of being "jealous es". Go to the foreword, click Report Content. It's in red and located below Labels. It will expand. You are not going to report. But you are going to click View Reports (if any), right next to the Report button. Find out the truth for yourself.

9. When submitting a report, please be specific about it by providing proof such as links to chapters or screenshots. It helps if you lift a certain passage from the story. And then, copy that specific statement in the TERMS OF USE or CONTENT GUIDELINES that shows that such content is prohibited. It's not for the mods but for the author and her readers who would stumble upon your report.

10. Regardless of what the other user has done (plagiarism, cyberbullying), never put their usernames or the links to their profiles in your stories and blogs. Don't even ask your readers to go to that user. That's also a form of cyberbullying. Just submit a report.

11. And not everyone who reports a user or a story, hates the person. Or is bullying that person. Using the report content button is a right and a responsibility.

We don't have that much time to hunt each and every offender. It just so happens that the author of the fic we opened copied it from someone else or posted prohibited content. And no, for the sake of AFF, we cannot ignore it.

12. AFF is not a dating site. This is also not a place for a hook up or a booty call. Don't respond to such requests. And please refrain from posting such requests.

13. Refrain from posting personal contact details in profiles and blogs. It is better if you create social media accounts solely for AFF.

14. And if you have nothing else to do, go to DISCUSSIONS and BLOGS under Social to answer questions. Or even AFFHELPER's wall. You don't have to entertain every question, just the basic ones like how to upload a DP, how to hyperlink, how to post an image, etc.

I am thankful to see that some of you are really welcoming to the newbies. And that you are answering questions. There was a time that most of the discussions are ignored. Perhaps we should have a team for that. Hmmm...

15. Think before you act. At the end of the day, it's not the number of subbies and upvotes you have or the star next to your title that matters, but your character...

I know it's long, but we really need to find a way to co-exist peacefully here in AFF. And aren't you tired of this cycle of ignorance and greed? I am.

Rumor (and I will stress that very hard lol) is that Helper was phased out because all that will be handled by tickets like reports. So we'd get tech problems and issues right away versus having to rely on a third party's messages.
